You should get a Fuji x100vi - I went through the same journey, I sold my Sony a7r iii, and got the Fuji to be able to easily pocket it when going out with my wife and daughter. I absolutely LOVE it, for both photo and video
For me the ZVE1 is a perfect b-cam for my FX6 and awesome for holidays and traveling

I totally get that... Im always struggling to find the right compact travel camera set up... and having been using my crop sensor camera over my full frames lately, but with video, still nothing beats the stability of an action cam. What I've been hoping for since the zv1 came out is that it would have a true successor that would maintain the same size, telescoping zoom range (but wider obviously), RAW photo, pop up flash, 10bit video, and action cam level stability for $749... Sony could make that canera tomorrow if they wanted too, and I think it would fly off the shelf.
Yet, I wonder if they did that, more people might do what youre doing and sell their full frame camera for something like that.
Its fun to dream though...
Sony did release some compact action cameras. Pity they didnt continue with it.
All action cams use electronic stabilization, except for DJI OSMO series. Getting stable shots with super wide lenses and electrionic stabilization such as active or dynamic active for newest sony cameras is so easy.

I'm not a pro, but like to take better photos than my phone. I seriously considered the gr3, but its lack of good quality video was a deal breaker.
The fuji x100vi is unavailable in my country.
I settled with a canon R8 + pancake 28mm lens combo. Super lightweight- even though it doesn't fit in my pant pockets, I can still keep it on a sling/ crossbody bag and take it with me.
Coming from a nikon d3300, the AF performance on this thing is mind blowing and super reliable!
Your video looks amazing. I love the color and light setup. Can you do a video of how you are coloring the walls and what their "real" color is? Even got the shirt right.
There's always a compromise, me personally I wouldn't mind lugging a 1.5 kilogram gear just to take the best quality photos.
I feel this. Currently on L-mount, but recently wanted to try Fuji so I picked up a dusty Fuji X-T1, and originally started on MFT.
And even as someone who has been interested in doing more freelance professional video work, I don't know if I want to keep the FF camera. The Fuji is far more fun to shoot on (even if it's useless for video) and it's the same with the older MFT, and it's almost definitely the weight and size of them that makes them nicer. I don't know if I'm going to weaken my spot for work if I do sell it though. It's tough!
You should consider using the ZV-1, its super tiny yet very capable for its size, or the Ricoh GRiii for Photos.
The ZV-1 has the built in 24-70 Zeiss lense thats great quality
I have it. Made several videos about it. Shotty IS though. And the battery life is sad.
@@TSCameraGear Image Stab is fine for photos and good enough for Video. A backup battery is the size of a quarter lol. Swap out the battery. Camera has much better image quality than an action camera and can zoom.
Agree about image quality, not about video IS.
@@TSCameraGear it’s okay with ‘Active’ on but then the crop makes the image look less sharp cause its then not 4K.
I basically use the camera for photography when I want something compact with zoom other wise I use the Ricoh GR3.
I have FullFrame cameras for most photography and Videography use cases.
Funny, I sold my APS-C Fuji gear because Sony Full Frame was lighter, more compact to travel with and cheaper, not to mention the bump in image quality, even if using an f/2.8 primes (as that's f/1.8 APS/C equivalent) was huge.
The ZV-E1 is just so good in all lighting conditions and it's now cheaper than a lot of APS-C. Plus second hand prime lenses for E mount are a lot less than X mount. I tried to use the Action4 (same sensor as the Ace Pro) and it was good on sunny days, but leaves a lot to be desired for everything else.

@@vladaOSOD bought 28mm f2 ff lens for 150$, where can i get apc-s equivalent for the same price? (18mm 1.4), also got zeiss 24-70 f4 and 55mm 1.8 both for 600$, aps-c is nowhere close in terms of lens availability , using older quality ff lenses is much better imo
ZV-E1 is the best bang for the buck today, I consider buying one too
For personal use, our phone should be more than sufficient.
IQ wise sure, but it won't give the same enjoyment/engagement as a dedicated camera does

Yeah but why? I just got one lens, the one attached to my camera. Sometimes I take another portrait lens with me, but that's all. Somehow "photographers" nowadays have this spasmodic obsession with always having the right lens with the right fixed focal length for every possible situation in their bag. No, you don't need that. Of course one might miss a shot but who cares? Your other 500 pictures are just as fine as well you did with your single lens. Try to learn to use the equipment you have and not always want the equipment you don't have. At least that's my motto.
I just bought the Sony A7Rii second-hand for a great deal and it's my first full-frame camera. I only got MFT until now, and I wanted to get better at shooting photos and creating media. I can take photos of things now that I couldn't do with MFT.
When I want to take it away, I put it in my backpack that I always need to carry cause I got water and all my stuff in it. If I'm around a bad city I put a lock on it.
Ehm. Why is insta360 being hated?
While I still see the benefits and find it more enjoyable to shoot with a proper camera, going full-frame has made me use my camera less and less due to its size. Previously, I owned a Canon M6 Mark II, and with a 22mm f/2 EF-M lens, it was perfectly pocketable (albeit in a jacket pocket). I carried it with me almost every day. I sold it and "upgraded" to the Sony for better video quality, but now I kind of regret it. Besides the A7IV, I own a ZV-1, which I tend to use far more often. Since I like the features of Sony cameras, I am seriously considering a "downgrade" to an APS-C Sony camera like the A6700. However, I don't think anything similar in size and focal length to the Canon EF-M 22mm f/2 exists in the Sony ecosystem.
Even ff lenses can be pocketable e.g. viltrox 20mm f2.8, zeiss 35mm 2.8, samyang primes etc. and even more for aps-c, with sony you've got plenty of choice

1st of all your channel will not die cause of the cameras you use but maybe of the content... as i see you, i understand you are not a teenager so you understand what i mean , good content wins...if you got no content meaning you sold the cameras so you got nothing to talk about, yes maybe thats a problem ...but i watch channels that use old film cameras and old sony handycams with epic footage with cameras that are 20 year old ... all i m sayiing is that if you got things to say and show people will watch... secondly i think you need a simpler camera as you said ... but imo when i grab my dji action 4 and i haven't got the sony menu i want to throw it... i wil always prefer the options than the simple menu that you probably need ... so please sony dont listen to him :P, good day mate
The action 4 is a cool camera. definitly gonna try the action5 when it comes out.
If zv1 mark II has 422 10bit even just 30p and better stabilization. I would not have the need to buy pocket 3. I was waiting for a small c camera for long time. Sony finally had the zv1 mark II but am just so disappointed.

Its not a bad idea. But I could actually make a video why the smartphone isnt the optimal camera. Dont get me wrong, the smartphone camera has A LOT of advantages. But some deal breakers too
