So HOmefree and Pentatonix were discovered on a show called the sing off, and are both just amaaazing. Its just amazing to see what they have done since
You have opened a door with us Home Fries- you will notice how your subscribers will grow & new Patreons, there is no bad performance from Home Free - Love them all
Yeah Home Free! Chance and Adam earned their pay here. Adam's always on point with his beat boxing. That Harmonica effect though is just amazing to me. Then there's Chance with that Jaw Harp. If you really want to see how versatile these guys are and hear their Higher range check out Mayday and you might not recognize Tim's vocals lol.
great choice for a reaction! Several other covers by Home Free would be “In the Blood” (John Mayer cover), “Castle On the Hill” (Ed Sheeran, which you probably know), and one of my favs “Mayday” by Cam. Of course, they released an album last year called Dive Bar Saints which has 10 originals and 2 covers. It’s great stuff!
I recommend Disturbed - The Sound of Silence. It's a very unique and powerful vocal performance. Edit: I also recommended the Pentatonix version but you already watched it
And to cover a few more artists, Peter Hollens does a cover with Tim and Julia Westlin does an a capella cover. More Simon & Garfunkel - VoicePlay covers Bridge Over Troubled Water.
Thank you for a great reaction, it is easy to see how much you appreciate their hard work to make their songs something special. And yes, headphone are needed to get the full experience. Home Free has a huge variety of music, for something completely different try "Butts Remix". So much fun !!
Wait until you have done a few more videos before you do "Mayday". You really have to know what each member of the group does to appreciate what they did on that song. Yes, I am being intentionally vague.
As much as I LOVE home free, I love to watch people listen to them! Your face when Adam "played" the harmonica! Priceless. Also, if you think listening with headphones is great, you need to go see them live! Tim vibrates the floor and seats!
"I don't like how he's looking at me." 🤣🤣🤣 Jase, I absolutely love your reactions to bass voices!! (Especially your enthusiasm, to put it mildly, for Avi.)
Yeah, was lucky enough to see them perform this one live in Dec 2018. Both Adam and Austin do “harmonicas” in harmony. They actually use a “looper” to have the steady background sounds but they “produce” the loop for the night and show who sings what, what noises are made in front of the audience. Cool insights and amazing performance.
Jennifer Breczinski - Which state is that, they’re from Minnesota, Texas, Georgia, and Alabama originally. Although now Tim lives in Nashville and Chance in Los Angelas. I’m in MN and Rob lives in my home town somewhere, although I haven’t run into him yet.
Jennifer Breczinski - I know, I just wondering which state you meant since they are all spread out now. The first time I saw them was at the MN Zoo in 2016 right after Chris left.
Great job, I love to have new Home Free reactors to watch! A few of my favourite Home Free music videos include 'Summer in the Country', 'Some Girls Do', 'Woman Amen/Female' & 'God Blessed Texas'. They are all also ones I haven't seen many people suggesting. I'm not sure how much you know about the guys yet, but Summer in the Country was done in 2015 so it still has Chris, while the other three songs were done since Chance took over for Chris.
The great thing about Homefree is their playfulness, ‘champagne taste on a beer budget’ is great and even has a cameo of avi riding a mechanical bull, and ‘this is how we roll’ has a great Austin solo that makes me laugh so hard and the high note he hits is so good, the whole video is set to the big labowski.
Man, I just noticed your DMB shirt I liked you before this video now I think you're even more awesome officially a new subscriber. Please continue to do more home free!!
I hit the comment section to say exactly that! Thank you 😊 Nobody in any reaction video of this song ever comments on that "little" detail. Or none that I have seen anyway, and I have seen quite a few... #quarantine
Ola Bergvall, it’s kind of like the low warble Geoff does after the “add a little spice” line in VoicePlay’s “Oogie Boogies’s Song. Very few people notice that either.
Here you go. Watch it with captions on for a good description when he hits five octaves in ten seconds at the end. And use headphones for the full effect. ruclips.net/video/EbxkOntz2SA/видео.html
You should see a video of them performing that song live. Austin, the lead on this song, will join the beat boxer Adam and do synchronized harmonicas. It is one of the most impressive things I've ever seen.
I told you the beatboxer was crazy in this song!!!! And the BASS. lol. Your reactions are hilarious and so realistic. This is what we look like when we hear this for the first time. It's refreshing knowing what we look like from the outside. lol
The opening sound was mimicking the Australian didgeridoo, and then a harmonica. This is nice! I've listened to these guys, but only when Avi Kaplan was guest singing with them. :-)
2 Home Free videos?? YEAH!! Hope we don't have to wait too long for the next one it's 0:00 here in Spain and I don't want to go to sleep without seeing the reaction hahaha
Notice Tim on the full face (close ups) shots … he doesn’t blink …to keep that “fully engaged” stare going! (Not just this video …pretty much all videos)
This is one of the few songs they do where Adam uses a looper. Also if you're doing a World Tour you really should include "Shogo Free" Home Free's very own tribute band from Japan, they are awesome.
Soooo glad so many people have been dropping Peter Hollens. Dude is awesome. I completely agree with Misty Mountains and Black is the Color. But please do some of his “solo” stuff too. “I See Fire” and his “Epic Handwashing”.
**Tim:** Schmectic low voice **Jase:** "I don't like how he's looking at me..." **Me every time I watch this music video:** "Yes Tim, take me away, far away from here."
On another style, you should try to listen Tagada Jones ! It's a french punk band that reaaaaaally rocks ! "Le feux aux poudres" or "Nous avons la rage" (their latest) are one of my favourites :) As I am also a big PTX fan, thank you so much for your videos, it was really fun (like a trip down memory lane) to see you discover their music. And to Avi's voice ! Please keep on going !
The "frog noises" is Chance's jew harp (that's the little wire harp played by twanging the wire near the jaw) … done with his throat voice. Every noise, click, hum, and rumble - 5 voices... Glad you enjoyed it. (Gotta love Rob's bidididip here we go, so few reactors notice or mention it)
You're killing me with Home Free!!! I'm in quarantine, man! QUARANTINE!! I cannot leave my computer!! Home Free is on my workout playlist ANYWAY!!! (Edit: Just react to all the Home Free songs.... all have so much musical credit)
To see Home Free's humor as well as their technical singing, check out Butts Remix, and Country Fried Pop medley. These are both older songs for them, and they do feature one of the Group's originators Chris Rupp who is Adam Rupp's brother. Enjoy this rabbit hole. It is very fun.
thanks, my brother. you will find that every new song you hear from Home Free will become your favourite song. that's how good these guys are. listen to "Campagne Taste on a Beer Budget", its a spoof oa song, but very funny
Hi from Australia. Love your reactions, I'm newly subscribed. I saw PTX live in February, highly recommended live. Please consider reacting to an Aussie legend, John Farnham singing "Help" live in concert. Stay safe. Namaste. 🙏
Check out Home Free doing “Elvira” with the Oak Ridge Boys. I watched Oak Ridge Boys with my grandfather and Home Free with my son. The music goes on. And look up some of Adam Rupp’s beatbox solos here on RUclips. Unbelievable!
Subscribed! I’ve loved your Home Free reactions. If you’d like to see them perform this live, I have a video posted (I don’t have a “channel”, I just posted to share). If you ever get the chance to see them, do not sleep on it. They are just as amazing and flawless in-person (and they’re hilarious!).
Hey Jase! Newer subscriber, but I love your reactions XD Your facial expressions are great! I've got another band that I think you should try out. They're called Girugamesh, and they're from Japan. Specifically, their song Drain is one of my personal favorites. Thanks for the videos, you're awesome! (e)Hugs and love from California!
btw, I have been in 2 Home Free videos. Wagon Wheel (Song of the South) and Champagne Taste. Both a little older since Chris is in both videos but still fun songs no doubt. But at least I was able to get a pic with him in his cowboy hat.
Jase: “i dont like the way he’s looking at me. Him and Avi”
Me, a straight female: I do... i do very much
This comment just... 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👌🏽
Me, a bisexual fellah: *nods in tacit agreement*
Even as a straight male... yup
💯
🤣
So HOmefree and Pentatonix were discovered on a show called the sing off, and are both just amaaazing. Its just amazing to see what they have done since
Also, Peter Hollens is another great Acapella artist, and he's done a few thing with Tim Foust such as Misty Mountains and The Sound of Silence
Yes! My personal favourite of his is shape of my heart with Naturally 7 though
Oh, and Peter with Avi.
My favorite.
@@marymarchmcclelland5203 Oh yes! Black is the Color of my True Loves Hair!
@Fiddlin He does it later today. 😂
You have opened a door with us Home Fries- you will notice how your subscribers will grow & new Patreons, there is no bad performance from Home Free - Love them all
They stare the bass into your soul.
I love this song by Home Free

If you really want to see how versatile these guys are and hear their Higher range check out Mayday and you might not recognize Tim's vocals lol.
Tim really surprised me in Mayday 😳😳😳
Less than 10 seconds into the first song and Jase already had stank face! #greatmusic #deepbase #fantastic
Can you imagine PTX & Home Free together, MAN 💥 mine blown!💥
you should do a react on their funny butts remix, its an oldie, but its funny and actually quite impressive parts :)
great choice for a reaction! Beth Coussou MayDay is one of my favorites! ❤️
Home Free rocks!
#HomeFree never disappoints . . .
This was incredible. Also, their cover of “Elvira” (with the Oakridge Boys) was so good. “All About the Bass” was good and silly.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥😍😍Perfection😍🔥✌🏽
I would also add Avi with Peter doing Black is the Colour of my True Love's Hair or possibly May Day by Home Free - both worth a listen
Jan Uzzell Black is the Color of my True Loves Hair - excellent, second that
If I remember correctly, from a live version, Chance does the mouth harp sound, and Adam and Austin do the harmonica.
One of my favorites !! There are so many different sounds in this one, it's hard to believe it's all acapella !! Soo much talent !!
Definitely a stand out from them! The harmonica and jaw harp are jaw droppers!
Jase, Bro. Have you heard Homefree "end of the Road"? they killed that one as well.
Please do their “Country Fried Pop Medley “!
This is one of my FAVORITE songs by Home Free. We saw them in concert December 1, 2019 and it was AMAZING. My kids and I are HUGE Home Free fans.
So glad you loved it. I am addicted to JHome Free, Pentatonix and even some Voiceplay

I suggest Warriors by Voiceplay
I agree. IMO, their best.
Definitely one to put on the list.
The noise that started and ended song was done by Chance. Its called a jew harp.
Check out Mayday, country roads.
What did you just call me lmao
Yes! Now that you know which part each member sings, watch Mayday, but be prepared to be confused/surprised/shocked
Jews harp, jaw harp, even blues harp. You can order them online from somewhere and they call them a jaw harp.
Wait until you have done a few more videos before you do "Mayday". You really have to know what each member of the group does to appreciate what they did on that song. Yes, I am being intentionally vague.
Mayday is just straight up fire!!! One of their best imo.
As much as I LOVE home free, I love to watch people listen to them! Your face when Adam "played" the harmonica! Priceless. Also, if you think listening with headphones is great, you need to go see them live! Tim vibrates the floor and seats!
More Home Free. 😍
You should here them live. They are just amazing and you Can litterally FEEL Tims bass. 🤤🤤🤤🤤
Hugs from Denmark.
I'm really enjoying your reactions to Home Free - thank you very much for this one, and I look forward to many more.
This is possibly the first a Capella I have ever heard that doesn't make me want to go on a killing spree. Awesome.
We're making huge progress over here folks! Nice
"I don't like how he's looking at me." 🤣🤣🤣 Jase, I absolutely love your reactions to bass voices!! (Especially your enthusiasm, to put it mildly, for Avi.)
MORE ACAPELLA. Home Free, Voiceplay and PTX PLZZZ

OMG that was one of their first videos I saw after Sing Off. They’re amazing
I wish I could like this one multiple times.
I agree completely - after I got some headphones I found there was sooo much more going on than I'd been aware of.
Avi and Tim be having that bass face
So glad you listened to this song😀
Adam (the beatboxes) is incredible!!!

I don't know if anyone else said it but its supposed to be a harmonica sound that Adam Rupp is imitating along with the Jaw harp done by Chance
Austin Brown - high tenor
Rob Lundquist - tenor
Adam Chance - baritone (previously Chris Rupp)
Tim Foust - bass
Adam Rupp - beatbox
Go check out the video bass battle between Tim foust, Avi Kaplan, and Geoff Castelucci. It's crazy. I am an Avi fan though.
