    Do This First:
    To get the most out of your recording or streaming space, I recommend sound treatment including acoustic absorption panels. This is the single biggest way to improve your audio before investing in other gear. You can make your own, or I highly recommend GIK Acoustics as they manufacture some of the best quality panels available at an excellent value.

    I really like the option to use either USB or 3.5mm audio with phones and computers (cameras and portable recorders are supported using 3.5mm). From what I can tell, this wireless lavalier kit is not only compact, sounds good, but it also works with just about everything. There are many choices, but this is definitely worth a look!

    a very usefull review! My question: where can I find the safety track and how can I use it in the post production???

    • @askdrtk
      @askdrtk  Год назад +1

      Thanks! When you record, the regular track will be on the left channel and the safety track will be on the right channel. Depending on which DAW you are using (or other application such as OBS) to record, you can configure two tracks to record simultaneously. On a DAW these can be either two mono tracks (one L and one R) or two stereo tracks where the L input records to both channels on track 1 and the R input records to both channels on track 2. On OBS, you setup two separate audio capture sources both from the DW20 and then pan one left and the other right (plus set to mono) in advanced audio properties. I hope this helps out!

    If i have two people mic'd at the same time does it merge it to one track?

    • @askdrtk
      @askdrtk  Год назад +1

      When using both transmitters (in stereo mode) mic 1 is output to the left channel and mic 2 is output to the right channel on one track. They need to be split up and mixed in post processing. It is possible to record both in mono to one track, but I usually recommend splitting them up for flexibility in processing later. Hope this helps out!

    Nice ! the USB-C can be used on an Android Phone with USB-C ! don't know if there's any lag in the audio that way, or compensation for it.

    • @askdrtk
      @askdrtk  Год назад +1

      My measurements show about 20ms which covers both the transmitter to receiver lag and the receiver to PC lag, which is very good for this type of setup. This is less than one frame for most videos other than very high frame rate, so not noticeable. An offset could be added, but I did not include one in processing this video.

    I have an iRay dw20 that has a latency of 61ms.
    It is absolutely unacceptable.

    • @askdrtk
      @askdrtk  Год назад

      61ms is unacceptable. For latency between the mic and analog out on the receiver - my set measures slightly below 20ms. Overall latency between the mic and your DAW (or other application) will be higher, but the length varies considerably with different hardware / software combinations. As a reference, when I connect the receiver to my PC using USB, Studio One shows a round trip latency of less than 9ms.
