Being a Series X owner since 2021 I’m still happy with the $500 I spent on a console that has been great performance wise for everything I’ve thrown at it with the added bonus of having a disc drive for me to enjoy blu rays & all the backwards compatible games supported that I’ve kept physically over the decades.
it also has limitations though whether you like it or not.. i personally dont like having to choose between fidelity and performance. so many times ive just tested out fidelity and wished i can play with it looking like this, but never do since its 30fps. now i can... which is why i am moving away from xbox and preordered the ps5 pro. the only downside is i have a library of games on xbox that i cant take with me, but i will be keeping my xbox as a side thing. maybe came back to now and again.
@ Watch reviews bro you still have to make a choice between performance or fidelity on the pro. Only difference is now fidelity can enable ray tracing on certain games that support it.
I had a pro in cart ready to buy and I did the smart thing to wait until people have them and actually see frame per second comparisons. I ended up just buying a 30th edition controller
They probably paid more under the table to get one themselves. Sony don't send them consoles because generally they always dislike playstation and are more less harsh towards Microsoft since they are buddies 😂
Because it's free marketing and they break it down and they give a review and they tell how great all the little minor changes are, they don't inherently hate PlayStation Xbox is just preferred in their studios
I'll be honest. I'm shocked. I was expecting the usual love fest. Like all the other tech channels. I was wrong about the PS5 pro... the PlayStation pro is so great... Here's why you have to buy a PlayStation pro... You all know exactly what I'm talking about. But Austin has been unusually critical and not an instant simp
@SmoothSportsGaming I have both and the pro is way smoother upscales ps4 games and had 2 extra GB for thr UI making it buttery smooth too but haters gone hate
Not all gamers are the same, there are casuals and competitive, and Pro targetting enthusiast and competitive player. Not all people just wanna chill. They love competing. Having this to play crispier fidelity graphics on a performance mode is a must for them and for us. If you are not seeing the current prices for this tech on PC and PS5 have it? Plug n Play? This Is why casuals will stay casuals, competitively playing will improve with this kind of tech, sud but true. Everything now is $$$
Traded in my PS5 digital for $265 at Game Stop. Bought the Pro for $435. I have been all digital since PS4/Xbox One launch, so I do not need the drive. I did buy a PS5 Slim/Pro stand knock off for $18 off of amazon. PS5 Pro is the best console I have ever used.
Not if your a Physical collector if it came with a built in disc drive people might grumble a little at the price but would still probably part with the cash if they had it if you have a big enough collection the extra drive space is interesting also the fact that you can just hot swap an NVME drive that’s already in your slim as well as the disc drive from it is pretty good but if you already have a Slim and a more powerful PC as well it isn’t worth it without a already large physical collection
@germainetaylor1757 but a physical game collector is niche, so having an addon option is ideal. Most games are sold digitally, so dropping the drive to keep costs down is smart for the average user.
People just Love to complain I wish the PS5 pro would it came out before I bought my PS5 digital edition I would have got it but since I recently purchased my PS5 digital edition it is a hard pass
its not even 700 in europe, its 800 euros and the euro is stronger than the us dollar so stop it with the drive, its not about one thing. Its expensive all around.
@@SKF108 You can hook a gaming PC up to a TV and play with a dual sense as well. Honestly, that's how I use my TV. I have a 55' 4k 120hz LG Oled that I have my gaming PC, XSX, and PS5 all hooked up to. I have a wooden lap desk that I use for my wireless keyboard and mouse and also game with either my Xbox Elite controller or Dualsense Edge. I do think I'll grab the PS5 Pro, but you can definitely use a gaming PC like a much more powerful console, especially with software like Steam's Big Picture mode.
$84.78 to be exact for the disc drive $741.99 for the PlayStation 5 pro $211.99 for dual sense edge controller $362.51 for 4tb WD_Black drive Very expensive
When this was announced some pc players like myself were saying that we have a ps5 and when the teaser announcement released it was gonna determine whether or not to get a new gpu or upgrade their OG ps5 and most of us just went with a new gpu. But we got so much hate from serious ps5 owners saying "well you got to account for the cpu, psu, ram, and etc. Ya'll forgot to incorporate that with your math". Guys, the keyword is "upgrade" and we only mentioned the GPU. The argument that they failed to realize is upgrading the pc or ps5. Something we already have and are wondering if an increase in performance is warranted for the price. We were not referring to a whole new system where both of which a person does not have. - That's different. That being said there's 4-5 years left on the ps5 and the slight performance upgrade, missing stand, and disc drive at $700 does not compare to a disc based one I luckily got at launch (which will have a lifespan of 7-8 years before PS6 comes out) at $560 (with tax). I'm rocking a 2060 and I'm gonna drive that shit to the dirt until probably around the release of the 60 series.
Personally I just don't like the PS5 design I don't know why but it just gives me the Vibes of the PS3 and this generation of consoles has been very disappointing so I basically skipped out on the PS5 because I just don't like the design, I love the PS4 Pro because it's still reminds me of the PlayStation 2 design and I'm very picky when it comes to the design of the console because I see the PS4 as the direct successor of the PS2, while I see the PS5 as the direct successor of the PS3 because you know design similarities. So I'm hoping that the PlayStation 6 will look very similar to the PlayStation 2 because you got to remind people on why you buy the next-gen console and I think that reminding people of the Playstation 2 for the next console such as the PlayStation 6 would be a great idea for Sony to emphasize on for the design of the next console as it would be seen as the next line of succession of the PS2.
it was tested in DF and in high demanding CPU games the increment in performance was 10%, and in some cases 2% and in high demanding GPU games the absolutely best scenario was 45%. I really don't see the point of purchasing the ps5pro at 700 + tax when you can have the ps5 digital edition for $400. I get the diff in performance but it is just not worth it.
As a gamer with many consoles and gaming PCs, it INCREDIBLY sucks to have a super powerful PC that can run everything gorgeously better than any console can, but the game ports : - Crash - Stutter - Sometimes don't even launch That being said, yes you, heck I can shop around and get something as nice as the PS5pro, but the tinkering, optimization, and disregard and care Microsoft has for Windows, is outrageous. Good example is COD blackops 6, until now I haven't been able to play on my PC normally, because the game all it does is crash, crash, and crash some more. And after the lastest update from Windows 23H2, I get a bunch of Blue Screen Of Death... But guess where I can play COD blackops 6 with little to no problem 🤔 the PS5, guess where I can game anything without a blue screen crash? The PS5, so all this to say, my Pro is coming today (all thanks to God YHWH obviously always 🙏🙇♂️)... I'll give Microsoft time to fix their GARBAGE Operating System in the meantime. A PC at the moment is not quite worth it, let alone is complex and a bit more money for the trashy way PC gamers are treated by these companies. Mind you PC gamers are 1 billion plus, you would think we would be treated better 😅
If you purchased a PS5 console at launch in November 2020 for $499, its price adjusted for inflation to November 2024 would be approximately $592.10, reflecting the cumulative impact of inflation. If you sold the console for $255 in November 2024, the total cost of ownership would be $244 over the four years, resulting in an average cost of $61 per year. This calculation factors in the original purchase price, resale value, and inflation-adjusted value over the ownership period. I received a deposit for $255.00 from Back Market after sending in my vanilla PS5. The sale of the PS5 funded approximately 32.28% of the total cost of purchasing the PS5 Pro and the Disc Drive. Or, to put it another way, I paid 67.72% of the new cost of the Pro and the disc drive. That works out to $534.99. So, of the $534.99 spent after the PS5 sale to back market, $35.99 (approximately 7.21%) is over the original cost of the PS5. If folks really took a minute to do the math, if you trade in your vanilla PS5, assuming you can get at least $255 for it and you owned it for 4 years, then you'd only be paying a little over 7% of the cost for a Pro and disc drive compared to the non-pro console.
No disk drive and no stand included + cost of the PS5 pro is around 810$(taxes not included ).You can build a good PC with last gen components that will match its performance and be more useful than just gaming.
@12:30 It's not that hard to articulate to be honest, it's not recommendable. Sony increased the prices of all consoles (even OG PS5 is now more expensive, few years after it's launch). They also increased: - prices of the controllers - prices of games - prices of PSN Subscriptions And the worst thing for me is that the PRO can't even run higher resolutions, same as PS5. It just has the tool (PSSR) to fake it. Sometimes it will work, sometimes it won't. This revision is not in high demand, it is available for order in Germany whenever you want. That is a good indicator of what it is
@@ashthegeek7400its the equivalent. You use a DVD player or streaming box to watch tv shows/movies. You use a console to play games, whether it comes with a disk drive or not, it's the same media.
I think what he’s trying to articulate is just that this isn’t a good value proposition because you can get a very similar experience at a lower price.
Ps5pro has 2tb If u were to get a base ps5 with 2tb it would cost $600 So ur already almost as expensive as the pro with that alone Then factoring in the fact that the ps5pro is twice as good as the base ps5 Doing Fidelity60fps instead of fidelity30fps It's actually worth it Plus u can trade in ur ps5 and get it for $300 I got mine for $300
People did not hold onto their PS4 for a decade plus because they preferred it. They hold onto PS4 because PS5 did not impress them enough nor built a case to justify getting one either with games or the fidelity upgrade.
The sharp gills/ flaps used to be the vertical stand of the OG PS5 and they didn't add the stand because it would be more plastic and added cost, hence they'd rather sell it for 30usd or something
1. They started working on the pro when the PS5 came out 2. The PS5 being a 10 year console just means that it is going to be supported after the PS6 comes out
I think the dude is right when he talks about the longevity of PS4 and how consumers look at consoles now. I'm mainly a PC gamer so when I dip my toe into consoles I go for the cheapest thing to get the most bang for my buck. I got back into consoles in 2020 when I heard MLB The Show was coming to Xbox and found a $50 Xbox at the pawn shop. I bought a broken PS4 and an Xbox One X in the last couple of years and fixed them to upgrade my console experience. So I still mainly game on PC but have one or two exclusives I play on a console a year. I'll wait for it to come out on PC before I spend $700 to $1000 on a console when I already own a gaming PC.
The whole idea behind the ps5 pro is that Sony seeing GTA 6’s release next year as an opportunity to move hardware and want to make the PS5 Pro the defacto console to play it on. Don’t be surprised to see GTA 6 PS5 Pro bundles next year. It’s bizzare to release hardware based around one game albeit a very huge game. I personally feel whatever performance I get from my base PS5 in GTA 6 is adequate for me. I will never upgrade my console from one game
I just got my Pro and I’m loving it! You guys are bit too negative about this whole thing. This thing is a luxury item for enthusiasts, it is what it is. I bought my RTX 4080 Super for 1500$, in Romania.
I think the reason Sony omitted the disc drive is because they felt unsure about the success of the pro model. If the pro model fails, they will incur a large loss in revenue. But if they included a disc drive while also failing to earn a profit, then the loss would be even worse because that hardware is an added cost to manufacter and include with each system.
Here is my honest opinion: The PS5 Pro is just an entry level gaming PC that has an i5 with a 4060. Now, don't get me wrong that is a great entry level gaming PC. So, with this said, I am glad to see Sony finally entering the PC world because how else are they going to make it when a high majority of games today are built for PC and it seems inclusivity does not mean anything anymore because the shift toward PC is pretty big year after year that people simply prefer gaming on PC, and at the same time, do other things on their PC because the world is digital now. So, did Sony create a great entry level gaming PC? Yes, I believe they have. But, did they market to the wrong crowd? 100% to the wrong crowd. With the PS5 Pro, they should have marketed it to the PC community and then at the same time, threw an incredible price at us that the PS5 Pro would only cost $549 and if you wanted the stand - $599. And if you wanted to the disc: $649. Now, had they done that - the PC community would have flocked to the PS5 Pro and defended it because Sony would have said - "we know you have a midtier or high end PC in your set up and we're working toward that but we have created a pretty impressive entry level gaming PC for really cheap that even you PC gamers can't resist. And we even made it cheaper than an entry level gaming PC in the PC world - we dare you to try our PS5 Pro PC gamers as we are 100% certain you won't be disappointed." But, they didn't do any of what I said. But instead, they marketed it to the console gamers, weren't too honest about the specs, and the price is horrible for it because it is considered a console not a PC. So, here is my advice for everyone who has read this far: Wait until black Friday and cyber Monday and if the PS5 Pro goes down to $549-$599 then buy it as you will NOT regret having bought it. But if not, be very happy to buy the PS5 Slim Digital for only $350-$375 which is where I am leaning more toward to because I do not think that the PS5 Pro will go down to the prices I mentioned. I have a hunch however that within 3 to 6 months, Sony is going to release an Upscaling system updated for the PS5 that will work with its architecture, and then also at the same time release PSSR mark II that will take the PS5 Pro to a higher level of details, FPS, and Ray Tracing that will now make the PS5 Pro something to talk about. I believe this is something Sony will do so they regain their customers and also try to win over the PC community. But, truth, they should have just done what I said to begin with as if they had, the PS5 Pro would be all sold out by now with a high majority being from the PC community and at the same time backing the PS5 Pro as an incredible gaming entry level PC that belongs in every living room of every homes. And that's my two cents.
@@michaelmayers3622 I 100% agree with you as gamers do do that. I don't simply because the day I entered the PC world, console was never an interest for me anymore as I had access to so many more games and play those games at really high quality and then use my PC for anything else I wanted. One reason why Sony finally decided to enter the PC world was to simply keep up with competition as more games are made for PC than the consoles. If Sony comes up with a entry level PC, it will be much easier for gaming companies to bring their games over to console so both companies make more money. And that is always enticing. And eventually PC gamers will get to play the big titles from Sony which created the beef between console gamers and Sony releasing their big titles to the PC community and we PC gamers got a chance to play their big titles at the best of resolutions, graphics, and FPS as how it was meant to be played. The best thing for Sony to do right now is lower the PS5 Pro by $150, allow the Playstation to play all Steams, Epic, and EA games, make all their PS4 titles compatible with the PS5/PS5 Pro, continue to make titles only for the Playstation, and then give the PS5 an update with upscaling technology and the PS5 Pro with PSSR mark II. They do that, more money than ever before fall from the sky that I would be very happy to watch Sony grab 24/7 365. Them merging into the PC world was only a matter of time. More PC gamers do not own gaming consoles simply because why when there are more games for PC and a PC can do it all - a console would just be a waste of money. But, the PS5 Pro, that was intriguing to me and if the price is right, it will be a great addition to the living room as finally a console with the architecture of a PC that is worth investing money into.
@IAmBetterThanIWasYesterday It's just something I'm passionate about. I'm sure you too have things you are passionate about that you talk about all the time like being the best version today than you were yesterday as per your RUclips name. As for me life, let us just say that it was been amazing the last 15 years and like you I also talk a lot about being the best version you can be but then I tell people first to hit the gym. A strong mind is also a fit and muscular body.
Digital Foundry confirms: PS5 Pro ZEN 2 CPU is not enough for 60 FPS gaming like BG3 which runs only couple of frames better and won't fix those problems. Current PC CPUs are twice as fast.
Here in Australia I got a $600 trade in for the pro at ebgames, it was insane. I paid $600 for the change over total being $1200 at less than a ps 5 base model. The way I see it the hardware upgrade will last a lot longer than based model and you may as well get the best trade in value while you can.. the prices that people were paying during covid was a lot more and the stupid prices that people are paying for current gpus on top of the rest of the pc components is just insane. It all comes down to if you want, if not there are other options.
I don’t see what the big deal is about the CMOS battery being user friendly to replace. Like who’s ever had to worry about that? I’ve had my PS4 Pro and still have it with no issues.
I didn't elxpect a drastic overhaul in a mid-generation console. I'm sure PSSR will be even more impressive once they've fixed the current bugs with future updates.
It will be no doubt imagine the games coming out near the end of ps5 life cycle when the ps6 is near, Guarantee there will be big differences between pro and base model, even then imagine cross gen games for ps6 on ps5 pro still going to be better with pssr than base console… the ps5 pro will now last till the ps6 pro, now the real upgrade is pro model to pro model no longer the base models are it cause a powered revision is coming unless Sony announces they’re no longer doing pros
Yes you can! Comparable PC costs only $697.91 FYI: Digital Foundry just found out that the PS5 Pro is actually slower or at best similar to the RX 6800. Ryzen 5 5500 - $84.04 ASRock B450M-HDV R4.0 - $59.99 16 GB DDR4-3200 CL16 - $26.97 SSD Silicon Power UD90 2 TB - $92.99 RX 6800 - $349.99 Case Gamemax M60 - $34.94 PSU Apevia ATX-ES700 W - $48.99 Sure we can build a nicer more powerful computer with better upgradeability and feel better about it. But that would no longer be an apples-to-apples comparison. The PS5 Pro has none of these benefits. It's just a simple plastic box with hidden components that we will never see to admire their "beauty" or to know their quality. We can only quantify our gaming experience. But nicer less plasticky case, RGB or more expansion slots does not increase FPS. It's a nice bonus, but not essential to run the games. And the PS5 Pro has none of that, it can only run games. So we should separate the necessary cost of performance and the optional price we are willing to pay for aesthetics, upgradeability and everything else.
6:26 it doesn't justify the price but don't discount that extra storage on the console. You can't play PS5 games off of the added SSD only PS4 games and the PS4 games don't get the upscaling when played from the added SSD. This is a minor inconvenience because our can just move the games over BUT the 2 TB console storage does give you more readily accessed playable games.
I think it's worth the money. All games that are not a locked 60fps improve with just boost mode, and I am noticing the differene in image quality on PS4 games using the enhance image quality feature. Playing through Uncharted 1 right now and the game looks significantly better with it on comapred to off. I did not expect this 2 weeks ago
Long story short, my ps5 literally just got stolen but I'm being reimbursed for most of the price. Would it be worth it getting the pro since it releases in a day? Or still just go for the ps5/slim? I'd basically be only paying $150 out of my own pocket.
Not only would it have been more expensive back when they launched BUT ALSO the chip shortage was about that time. So they probably couldn't even get the chis at a decent price back then.
As someone who plays on PC, PS5 and XSX i am concerned to see getting ~ 20 fps more, some better image quality and being charged 800€ in the EU. PS4 pro launched at the price of the base PS4. PS5 slim digital should be 299 now, but it isnt. If the PS5 Pro is cheered and welcome, i am scared of the next cosole gen price (PS6 or Xbox whatever).
Yall are so put of touch with reality, gpus cost 1000 plus, handhelds are 500, and your complaining about this? It's 700 for a console that will now run most games at 60fps, that is a massive upgrade from all the 30 fps games. The ps4 pro was a much smaller jump in performance than ps4 to ps4 pro. Yall have no clue this console is a great value, compare it to anything else on the market your not getting the same pefofmrnace or value
Matt hit that right on the head it's exactly what Matt said that was originally the pro was originally the PS5 but it would have cost way too much money so they sat on it dumb it down a little bit and then they released the pro just exactly like Matt said it happened
Here's a suggestion. Make the original launch consoles a decent upgrade to last 10 years then release the new hardware. Enough with the mid gen systems.
So the Ps5 pro has a 2tb SSD and no disk drive, that is priced at $700. Then you need to add $80 to get a disk drive, meaning the total bill is $780 + tax. The Xbox galaxy black also has a 2tb SSD but DOES have disc drive, and it only costs $600. With practically the same performance, the choice is obvious..
The reality is that, if you bump up the asking price by 50% , you need to provide a transformative experience a player can feel right off the bat when they boot up any game. When you're having to look side by side comparison using pixel counting and magnifying glass, you have failed to deliver value. Let alone when you take away basic features on top of that from a base console. They should have doubled CPU and GPU to reduce both bottlenecks. This is a cash grab and won't sell anywhere near as well as the PS4 pro
Im sure the ps5 pro will sell well. But for someone like me that bought a series x 2 years ago. There's no way I'm gunna upgrade. This is for the people that money doesn't matter. The people that stream for a living. Hardcore playstation fans or kids that just want the new thing. People think that this will do the same numbers as the ps4 pro and I think it will actually do super well. Because now we are leading up to gta 6 and people will want the best box for it.
I'm surprised that no one mentioned that the external disc drive for the ps5 are being sold by scalpers and it's not being talked about. The scalpers are over pricing the ps5 external disc drive similar to the playstation portal being over priced by scalpers. The ps5 pro is getting the same treatment as the playstation portal even though the ps5 has more features than the playstation portal while both devices are made by sony. It seems like ever since made the ps5 and sold the ps5 while it gained popularity, sony decided to go on a cash grabbing spree with there customers that buy and support there products and even dropped on the ball on things based on what they said. For example, playstation portal, ps5 pro, sony issues with concord, people that wanted a 2024 sony xperia android phone has limited the cell phone service providers outside the u.s. and the network mobile data bands are limited once someone ships the newer sony phones to the u.s while having spotty coverage when using the phone in the u.s. Where as using the newer sony phones outside the u.s. has full network support that is missing full support for using 4g and 5g not being fully available in the u.s. since 3g is no longer available in the u.s. I had to buy newer phones due to the 3g shut down among all the u.s. cell phone service providers because certain cell phone service providers relies on 3g when making phone calls since not all phones have full support for talking on the phone with 4g lte but only 3g for talking on the phone even though my older phones still work that have 4g lte for mobile data but relies on 3g when talking on the phone. The only good that sony has done was release a new line up of 4k mini led tvs in 2024 with a more easier and simplified names for there newer tvs such as the bravia 7, bravia 8 and bravia 9.
The thing is you can honestly buy a pretty good pc for that price that can be future proof, many tech savy guys even list the parts you can buy which add up to the ps5 pro but with better performance
As a ps5 owner, that has alot of games, and play ps4 games on my ps5, i thought about it, and maybe next year i may grab one, the upgraded graphic feature on ps4 games is a cool edition
Hey ..tbh .. extra 1tb is like 30 bucks extra 2gb ddr5 like 30 bucks better cooling like 20 bucks new chip like 50 bucks new gpu like 50 bucks... That's about 180 right there...
Include the dualshock edge, external ssd, disk drive accessory, and modifications to the console/case itself and then, it it turns out far better than this, would it be worth the price tag.
if the PS5 Pro was even £500 instead of £700 (UK pricing) i would think about it. But no Dualsense Edge or disk drive just makes this a complete flop. I don't think I've ever noticed or wanted more out of my current PS5, which is hooked up to a 83" Sony A90J. which is nearing the extreme of TV's that people would own. Maybe an 8K TV would be one step up, but as you mentioned only about 8 people own those and no one is seriously buying an 8K TV to play on a console... and if I have never looked at the graphics of my PS5 and said, i wish that was a bit sharper, or i wish that was a bit smoother then i doubt anyone else really will. the main thing to take away from this is the screen you will play on is a huge part of the experience. it doesn't matter if you have a ps5 or ps5 pro if you are playing on a £100 HD monitor or a £200 Samsung edge lit LED. as you most likely won't see a difference at all. my take away from this to anyone considering it, would be to find a killer Black Friday deal on a normal PS5 or PS5 Slim and use the rest to put towards a better TV, or if you already have a TV you're happy with then just save the money for something else.
I hear ya, but look at the other side. You sell your PS5 and a few games or accessories so for around $250 you can upgrade to the PRO. I bought the PRO and have 2 PS5s, I will sell one for the PRO.
@@nikk1019 What you mean nothing else? I have 2 PS5s well one OG and one pro now. Xbox SX and SS and 3090 gaming pc. I have bought so many controllers since 2020 I think I am up to 8 and mainly use the edge now. I have always bought 2 systems one for my office and one for the living room and upgrade each console generation. If you can afford it, why not? I don't understand why having another option is a bad thing.
I like it. I also don’t want to spend $800 (w/tax) for something that will end up in my living room and can’t play because I have almost no free time anyway. The only reason I would consider this is if they brought an insane upgrade to PSVR2 for GT7.
I'm thinking when the PS6 releases, the new PS handheld will also come out to compete with the Xbox handheld. It will be PS5 performance (10TFLOPs) but with the latest version of PSSR on an 8" 1080p screen.
i miss the good old days where you can actually buy a complete console. ps1-ps3 came with 2 controllers and disc drive. Now if you want a disc drive and extra controller, you have to pay extra for something that's suppose to come with the console.
@ downloading games is convenient, but a lot of people also prefer hard copies. They also want to play their ps4 game discs on ps5. Currently there’s a shortage in disc drive probably due to scalpers.
Is the PS5 Pro worth it? Well, if you need a reason to upgrade, here's one: you can finally experience 4K and a permanent shortage of stock... oh, and let’s not forget the extra heating problems! 🔥 Perfect for those cold winter nights! 😅
Somebody needs to convince me to not reach for my damn wallet and buy one. I’m trying so hard to convince myself I don’t need it cause I have a ps5 slim! 🤣🤣🤣
So the same xbox with some more storage and glitter for £600 is ok but a pro with more storage more tflops some rdna 4. 2 gig extra ddr5 memory so it gets the other 16 gig for gaming 10% more processor power and pssr Ai upscaleing is not worth £700 . You guy's are dorks lol
That Xbox is more a limited edition and has a disc drive with 2TB SSD and only 100 more then the launch Series X, it's not supposed to be a big seller/advertised like the PS5 Pro.
It's PS5 Remastered.
😂 it is, 599 for an Xbox with sneeze spots, 100 more for some enhancements, not much but enough to waste money on.
The only thing that spoils it is the lack of physical disc prints and games being slightly more expensive than on the PS5.
Series X has been a solid console for me also. I own a launch day model.
Same, my Series X has been great also got the 1TB expansion card.
it also has limitations though whether you like it or not.. i personally dont like having to choose between fidelity and performance. so many times ive just tested out fidelity and wished i can play with it looking like this, but never do since its 30fps. now i can... which is why i am moving away from xbox and preordered the ps5 pro. the only downside is i have a library of games on xbox that i cant take with me, but i will be keeping my xbox as a side thing. maybe came back to now and again.
@ Watch reviews bro you still have to make a choice between performance or fidelity on the pro. Only difference is now fidelity can enable ray tracing on certain games that support it.

If it was $780 and came with the disc drive, people would just complain that it should have been $700 without the disc drive.

Sony should definitely let the PS5 design die with this generation. It is fugly AF.

PS4 pro significantly increased ps4 lifespan by releasing the pro

Matt's exactly right PS5 pro was the PS5 we should have all originally got on release date but what we actually got was a detuned PS5 Pro.
So a console that wasn’t really the main PS five is out doing the series Xin comparisons 😂 should’ve made a pro console in the beginning also
it was tested in DF and in high demanding CPU games the increment in performance was 10%, and in some cases 2% and in high demanding GPU games the absolutely best scenario was 45%. I really don't see the point of purchasing the ps5pro at 700 + tax when you can have the ps5 digital edition for $400. I get the diff in performance but it is just not worth it.
As a gamer with many consoles and gaming PCs, it INCREDIBLY sucks to have a super powerful PC that can run everything gorgeously better than any console can, but the game ports :
- Crash
- Stutter
- Sometimes don't even launch
That being said, yes you, heck I can shop around and get something as nice as the PS5pro, but the tinkering, optimization, and disregard and care Microsoft has for Windows, is outrageous.
How big is the jump compared to ps4 to ps4 pro. That was the same launch price 400 @ the time and had 2x as much power
But ps4 pro did nothing for games, only a little bit better resolution. Ps5 pro does much more.
Well it has pssr similar to dlss in time we will see if it’s good
I would only consider buying this if it offered significant enhancements to new and existing PSVR2 games.
No disk drive and no stand included + cost of the PS5 pro is around 810$(taxes not included ).You can build a good PC with last gen components that will match its performance and be more useful than just gaming.
I can ask you one simple question and your whole logic falls apart
@12:30 It's not that hard to articulate to be honest, it's not recommendable. Sony increased the prices of all consoles (even OG PS5 is now more expensive, few years after it's launch). They also increased:
- prices of the controllers
- prices of games
- prices of PSN Subscriptions
And the worst thing for me is that the PRO can't even run higher resolutions, same as PS5. It just has the tool (PSSR) to fake it. Sometimes it will work, sometimes it won't.
This revision is not in high demand, it is available for order in Germany whenever you want. That is a good indicator of what it is

The big problem is no disc drive for the $700 price...
To answer your question no, I c gamers play pc console gamers pla consle

Sure we can build a nicer more powerful computer with better upgradeability and feel better about it.

Hey ..tbh ..
extra 1tb is like 30 bucks
extra 2gb ddr5 like 30 bucks
better cooling like 20 bucks
new chip like 50 bucks
new gpu like 50 bucks...
That's about 180 right there...
Idk why this is such a debate. If you have the extra cash and want the best console experience then get it. If not then don’t. That simple.
Include the dualshock edge, external ssd, disk drive accessory, and modifications to the console/case itself and then, it it turns out far better than this, would it be worth the price tag.
I just ditched my PS5 and built a new PC. If the PS6 doesn't have X3D cache, I'm sticking to PC.
if the PS5 Pro was even £500 instead of £700 (UK pricing) i would think about it.
OG PS5!
For $700, they should have included the disk drive.
Simply not worth it for anyone who already has some kind of variation of a PS5.
I hear ya, but look at the other side. You sell your PS5 and a few games or accessories so for around $250 you can upgrade to the PRO. I bought the PRO and have 2 PS5s, I will sell one for the PRO.
Not worth it but this will be our 3rd
@@cory4548 Yeah, now u got PS5 Pro and nothing else. Seems good to me
@@nikk1019 What you mean nothing else? I have 2 PS5s well one OG and one pro now. Xbox SX and SS and 3090 gaming pc. I have bought so many controllers since 2020 I think I am up to 8 and mainly use the edge now. I have always bought 2 systems one for my office and one for the living room and upgrade each console generation. If you can afford it, why not? I don't understand why having another option is a bad thing.
@@cory4548 A Pro and 2 Ps5 . You might as well by a 4080 PC and play games at 4k/100 fps with Ray Tracing .
Why is no one talking about the most important thing here: why the hell is Austin wearing Ray Ban smart glasses?
he's river cuomomaxxing
@@KinseyFromThisIs I cackled. Nicely done.
It us insane the amount of extra we have to pay here for electronics..our ps5 pro goes for $959 buckaroos..and the anniversary pro goes for $1329..
I like it.
I also don’t want to spend $800 (w/tax) for something that will end up in my living room and can’t play because I have almost no free time anyway.
The only reason I would consider this is if they brought an insane upgrade to PSVR2 for GT7.
But the sony disk drive is UNBEARABLY loud. I refuse to play disk games because I can't hear over the console
I'm thinking when the PS6 releases, the new PS handheld will also come out to compete with the Xbox handheld. It will be PS5 performance (10TFLOPs) but with the latest version of PSSR on an 8" 1080p screen.
We just glossin' over Austin's thick nerd glasses? Lol
I felt something was different, didn’t know what tho 😅
They are smart glasses. He's probably wearing them for a future review
i miss the good old days where you can actually buy a complete console. ps1-ps3 came with 2 controllers and disc drive. Now if you want a disc drive and extra controller, you have to pay extra for something that's suppose to come with the console.
But what’s the point of a disc drive when you can buy games online
It’s not RDNA 4🤡🎪
That Xbox is more a limited edition and has a disc drive with 2TB SSD and only 100 more then the launch Series X, it's not supposed to be a big seller/advertised like the PS5 Pro.
$80 disk drive? Where I live retail shops are charging $125 for some reason
