They are very popular in Serbia and neighbouring states, mainly for their vibrant live shows. A music video from 1997, directed by Darko Debelic www.darkodebeli...

Never forget the 10th Irish Division, the Irish and Serbians are forever allies. Sláinte/Живео, brothers.
They both retreated out of Serbia...
yes and left their bones in Greece. by the way, Brits or British are Celts too. But the English are not. cheers
A Serb started WW1 by killing an Austrian archduke which led to millions of dead allies....there is nothing to be grateful for when it comes to the Serbs.
He was a Serb yes, but he was not born in Serbia he was born in Bosnia which was at the time a province of Austria, he fought to free Bosnia from Austria, he was Austrian citizen with Austrian citizenship (imagine if you are for example born in America but you have Mexican origin, and then you kill president of America and USA declares war on Mexico just because you have Mexican origin), same with Princip he only had Serbian origin but he was born in Austria and was a citizen of Austria, which is what Austria used to attack Serbia, and they wanted to attack Serbia for 10 years they were just looking for a reason.
@@williameaton9058 1914 was the worst possible time for Serbia to fight a new war. It had just emerged out of two Balkan wars in 1912 and 1913 where it spent most of it's munitions, racked up a debt and expanded it's territory so most of it's active army was stationed in the south to integrate the newly liberated areas. But i'm quite certain someone said: "Current state of affairs is rather boring so let's start a war with one of the world's great powers that just so happens to be on our northern border -> it has 12 times our population and Germany as it's ally, that should liven things up a bit!"
You fucking turd nugget.

Your Serbian brothers will never forget 8,000 brave Irish soldiers who have opposed the army of 100,000 Bulgarians! lived Irish Republic of Ireland! Greeting from the Orthodox Celts from the Singidunum
I didn't get that one? About what battle are you talking about? Give a link with numbers included. Ireland has never been at war with Bulgaria. Yes, there were some irish divisions in the English army in WW1, but as we know there is only one Ireland - the independent one. And meaning no offence, but Belgrade was Bulgarian long before Serbian. We lost it to Hungary and later the Hungarian king gave it to Stefan Dragutin due to a dynasty marriage. The name Belgrade itself is of Bulgarian origin. Even the Hungarians called it Nándorfehérvár "the white fortress of the bulgarians". You may change letters in the name to claim it as yours, but facts are facts. There are several other Bulgarian cities that have almost the same name, one of them is in present day Ukraine - Bolgrad, founded by bessarabian bulgarians.
@@tsvetankostoff2484 what are you trying to say? Every major city in Europe has changed hands at least 5 times..it was Celtic, Roman, Bulgarian, Hungarian, Turkish, Austrian, Serbian, German..should every one of this nations claim it's theirs?

but the 57% celtic was divided into 23% scottish, 18% irish, and 16% welsh. so i am all over the place.

The fact that they are from Serbia, singing Irish folk songs, does not bother me at all, I like it very much. What is the difference, a Serbian has no right to sing Irish? Then, me, from Greece shouldn't have the right to listening to Irish music. I am listening to Irish folk for 20 years, if there was no description I whouldn't be able to tell if they are from Ireland.
***** This is exactly what I ment, maybe not using the suitable words. I do agree, they do play brilliantly.

I'm flattered as an irish descended person, and I wouldn't care if they played it or you listened to it.. but I really think the south europeans have far more interesting and powerful music... you have more time signatures and modes that you sing in.. so I'm a bit stumped on what you like about the music of my heritage, but enjoy
History lesson the Celts originated in Western Asia and Eastern Europe and migrated westward to include the Baltic countries, France, Britian and Ireland. They left bits of their culture everywhere

It was 20 years ago today that I lost my Mum, Annie Gillanders. She was born in County Down and was 71 when she died very suddenly with an aneurism, although she was apparently riddled with cancer too. I was lucky to be with her when she passed away so was able to say my goodbyes.
For most of her life, my Mum and I were never close but we became quite close in the last 5 years of her life. She had had a really tough life as my Dad was an alcoholic and regularly beat her up throughout her life, even though she took him back time and time again and gave him more chances than he ever deserved.
My Mum said it how it was, which is probably why I'm the "No Frills" person that I am too, she didn't suffer fools and didn't like many of my boyfriends.. She loved animals and went to bingo twice a week and she smoked like a trooper. She spent all of her spare time in the garden while the house was a tip.
She died without owing anyone anything but had nothing herself. She swore more than most guys do and made me laugh with her humour (she once told me Axl Rose was an anagram for Oral Sex and I nearly choken on my tea :-)
She loved doing crosswords and watching snooker and was as sharp as a pin to the day she died. I miss you Mum!! I miss popping over to Uttoxeter every week to make sure you are okay and will light a purple candle for you today as purple was your favourite colour....xxxxx Love this version of County Down.... stunning xxxxxx

Near Banbridge town in the county down
One morning last July,
From a bóithrín green came a sweet cailín
And she smiled as she passed me by.
She looked so sweet from her two bare feet
To the sheen of her nut brown hair.
Such a coaxing elf, sure I shook myself
For to see I was really there.
From Bantry bay up to Derry Quay and
From Galway to Dublin town,
No maid I've seen like the brown cailín
That I met in the county down.
As she onward sped, sure I scratched my head,
And I looked with a feelin' rare,
And I says, says I, to a passer-by,
"Who's the maid with the nut brown hair"?
He smiled at me and he says, says he,
"That's the gem of Ireland's crown.
Young Rosie McCann from the banks of the Bann,
She's the star of the county down".
From Bantry bay up to Derry Quay and
From Galway to Dublin town,
No maid I've seen like the brown cailín
That I met in the county down.
At the harvest fair she'll be surely there
So I'll dress in my Sunday clothes,
With my shoes shone bright and my hat cocked
Right for a smile from my nut brown rose.
No pipe I'll smoke, no horse I'll yoke
Till my plow turns rust coloured brown.
Till a smiling bride, by my own fireside
Sits the star of the county down.
Invite them on some festival in Ireland!!! ❤🍀🍀

For those who are wondering why Serbs are playing Celtic music: Every Serb has a Celtic blood too. The Celts once lived on the territory of Balcan and Serbia. And our capital city Belgrade have also established by the Celt's en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Singidunum. By the way every Serb has inself 30% Celtic blood and genes. because assimilation Slavic and Cetics tribes. We have over 4000. same or similar words in our language. Also the bagpipes are played in Scotland and in Serbia. We have a lot of their wonderful culture that remains deeply rooted in this region. And i am proud on that.A long-lived for Celtic tribes!
I think they're playing this music because they like it. Basically every european have some celtic blood because t the celts were spread across europe. And this is not celtic music, this is irish folk and trad music
