Bro I remember when this song first dropped. It was the summer of 1012 BC, and I saw them live in Jerusalem. I even got a backstage pass and I got to meet King David himself. Kids these days will never understand

lyrics :
KJV (English)
(if is inaccurate let me know)
O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.
Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.
For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods.
In his hand are the deep places of the earth: the strength of the hills is his also.
The sea is his, and he made it: and his hands formed the dry land.
O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker.
For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. To day if ye will hear his voice,
Harden not your heart, as in the provocation, and as in the day of temptation in the wilderness:
When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my work.
Forty years long was I grieved with this generation, and said, It is a people that do err in their heart, and they have not known my ways:
Unto whom I sware in my wrath that they should not enter into my rest.
Lyrics:
NIV (English)
(More or less the same as what you have written, with just a few minor differences)
1 Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.
2 Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song.
3 For the Lord is the great God, the great King above all gods.
4 In his hand are the depths of the earth, and the mountain peaks belong to him.
5 The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land.
6 Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker;
7 for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care.
Today, if only you would hear his voice,
8 “Do not harden your hearts as you did at Meribah (quarreling), as you did that day at Massah (testing) in the wilderness,
9 where your ancestors tested me; they tried me, though they had seen what I did.
10 For forty years I was angry with that generation; I said, ‘They are a people whose hearts go astray, and they have not known my ways.’
11 So I declared on oath in my anger, ‘They shall never enter my rest.’”
This is from the Hebrew (JPS version):
Come let us sing joyously to the Lord,
raise a shout for our rock and deliverer;
Let us come into his presence with praise;
let us raise a shout for him in song!
For the lord is a great God,
the great King of all divine beings.
In his hand are the depths of the earth;
the peaks of the mountains are his.
He is the sea, he made it;
and the land, which his hands fashioned.
Come let us bow down and kneel,
bend the knee before the lord our maker.
for he is our God,
and we are the people he tends, the flock in his care.
O, if you would but heed his charge this day:
Do not be stubborn as at Meribah,
as on the day of Massah, in the wilderness,
when your fathers put Me to the test,
tried Me, though they had seen My deeds.
Forty years I was provoked by that generation;
I thought, “They are a senseless people;
they would not know My ways.”
Concerning them I swore in anger,
“They shall never come to My resting-place!”

Something ive notice with the Hebrew music ive heard i really like the vibe of it and the vocal style is really beautiful an flows very well with the harmonies. Shalom.
This sounds powerful. Talk about putting respect to the Lord's name.
All praises and glory go to the Most High! And may he bless those who have made these songs for all us to listen to and turn our hearts back to our Father. And to our forefathers who have left us wisdom in the Word of these psalms, may their words resonate with us all the days of our life. Amen

One thing Ive always wondered about the whole Native-Hebrew theory is how the music got so different. If that theory holds water, songs like this make it make more sense. Besides the lack of drum, this is just like the leader-group style of Native chants and sounds much more like warrior music than any Jewish/Hebrew music i have ever heard.
Shalom 🕎✡
A proud catholic here! This chant is so powerful
I love echoes during those ancient choirs I think they like the echoes the same reason I do it sounds more epic and the music becomes bigger, massive.

My Priest has explain about chanting, recommended to do this on every situation and condition. God bless
That's crazy!
I speak hebrew and beacause it's the same language as it was 3000 years ago, I can actually understand almost all of the prayer when I really try!
For example, I can even translate you one of the sentences:
"Because Adonai (the jewish god) is the great god , and the king of the gods"
It is sang in much harder to understand words but that's the idea of the sentence.
The wonders the language extinction then revival.

I always find this interesting because alot of passages in the bible were originally meant to be sung-through. A shame these hymns were lost
They are still in the torah. There are symbols called te'amim that tell you what tune to chant when reading the hebrew.

Consider the restoration of biblical chant featured on this channel.
I liked this very much. I am rather puzzled by some of the illustrations. What is that giant cauldron supported by bulls? And whatever are two winged sphinxes doing over the sacred ark in the Holy of Holies??
@The Frontline of Faith
Yes I can understand they would be elaborate, but surely they are hinting at the influence of other pagan religions contemporary with Solomon. Didn't the Lord God disapprove of such things?
@@pentirah5282 think the cauldron was holy water... also represented 'all the ocean seas'.... the winged sphinxes represent angels guarding the sanctity of the only relics wrought by the Hand of God

Do you know where I can find other "lost melodies?" I'm looking for psalm 20 in ancient hebrew.
I'm sure you've already found it, but iTunes? I searched and quite a few came up.
Very similar to Gaelic Psalm singing, only this is in a typical minor harmonic scale.
Traditional Christian chant was influenced heavily by Ancient Jewish style of psalmody (which is ultimately part of the same tradition). Most was influenced by Greek musical theory as well (for example, Pythagorean scales are the basis of Byzantine and Old Roman chant styles, which most other European chant styles derive from at least in part)
@@BroadwayRonMexicoThe motifs of Western Liturgical music aren't derived from Old Testament Psalmody. Some of the terms are, like hallelujah and amen, however the similarities end there.
