His fight with Billy Q after Gaethje and Chandler was amazing. unfortunately for them the crowd was still recovering and were pretty dead for their insane brawl.
That was an absolute bonkers fight. FOTY worthy. But crowd was exhausted after those mfs almost killed each other earlier.

On just about any other card that’s FOTN, incredible bout
I would argue that it was a better fight. The third round of Gaethje vs Chandler was pretty dull. This was non stop action

Burgos striking is actually pretty solid, if he tried to work on his defense instead of blocking everything with his head he'd be a top 5 fighter i think
And he also ironically has pretty great headmovement, it’s just it’s literally his only defence so he slips 1 or 2 shots beautifully and then is still there to get hit with the 3rd or 4th
Yup it’s his footwork. He likes to stay in the phone booth and bang it out which us fans love but is exactly why he always takes damage. If he got in & out or attacked at angles…he would def. Be a top 5 fighter. He has amazing cardio and toughness, just missing the IQ

He has good defense it's just no matter who you are if you stand in boxing range the whole fight trying to counter with power combinations your going to get hit its just his style if you watch his fight in slow motion he has Really good defense for always being in boxing range

Im so glad someone decided to highlight one of the most underrated fighters in the UFC. That war against Emmett is what put both fighters in the spotlight. Always a fun watch everytime he steps in the octagon.

Never really watched his fights in detail, just highlights. It’s channels like this help casuals like me appreciate these fighters even more.
Whenever Burgos fights, he has my undivided attention. Has just come short in the big fight, but given a little more time and experience, he’ll break through to the top.
For sure an underrated action fighter in the UFC and underrated for his talents and well rounded ability too.
Burgos vs Quarantillo was so entertaining
Shame it happended right after Gaethje vs Chandler. It was nearly as entertaining but the fans used all their energy to cheers for the previous fight

Burgos is one of those guys that doesn't seem to understand that the more exciting this part of their career is the less exciting it's going to be in a little while. He's fun as hell to watch but he gets hit so much that his career is going to be cut short or at least the ascendancy is going to be cut short. He's been in some bangers for sure but realistically there's zero chance for a title. Like I said he's fun as hell to watch.
Tbh for some people it ain't about titles. It's about going out there competing at the highest level and just putting on a show. Always been my favorite kind of fighters.

Odd comment but I wish more fighters utilized their elbows. Burgos seems to get pretty close in range I'd imagine if he landed an elbow instead of an awkward punch it'd deal some major damage
BTW I'm not saying his punches are awkward. I'm saying when he gets in essentially what's clinch range it makes it harder to throw as clean of punches
I'm seeing step in elbows used more frequently these days, good stuff.

Love watching this guy fight. He's just a banger. Great slips, but I still don't expect a long career- since his defense eventually boils down to "give a better shot than you take." But he's gonna give us a good time before he goes ha.
His leg kicks are really interesting too. He hits unexpected areas. Not really aiming to put the leg to sleep so much as totally mess up dudes rhythm. He took several fighters off their feet with a mid power upper inner thigh kick lol. That's some savant timing and placement.

I love shane, one of the most entertaining fighters in featherweight, even fighting Jourdain. His grappling and Jiu Jitsu was next level!

His fight with billy quarantillo (think is spelled his last name right lol) was probably the best fight of 2021. Gaethje vs chandler was good except for the third round. But Burgos vs billy was 15 minutes of non stop trading in the pocket
