I had four children in 5 years. I've walked your path. I can tell you things do get easier. I went back to school and finished college when my youngest was 3. My husband was busy with his career and community. So my children learned some skills young. My most success was through modeling and working with them. My first was we don't leave things on the floor. We cleared our floor before lunch, dinner and bedtime. Toys were limited to bedrooms and living room. The second rule was that clothes went in the clothes basket when we changed clothes. Never on the floor. My rule for me was I washed dishes after meals and in-between they went in the sink. There was no dishwasher at that time in my life. Clothes were washed and put away twice a week. I also enjoyed hobbies and gave myself an hour everyday for crafts.
@@vondrabejot9851 wow I love this, you sound very structured. I like the idea clothes don’t touch the floor I’ve been working on that myself!! Thank you for all the recommendations of going to try them all.
Two things helped me tremendously when I was in your stage of life with four young children. I worked out of the home part time and needed to make the best use of my time. A friend told me not to leave things on the floor. Seems simple, but it’s so tempting to walk over piles and take care of it during cleaning, So the kids and hubby started each evening spending ten minutes getting everything off the floor. So worth it! The other life changing advice was laundry. It saved me all the time pre sorting and post sorting. Each person has a dirty laundry basket in their room. When the basket is full, that laundry basket is taken to the washer and washed as a separate loaf on cold. Laundry gets clean by agitation more so than heat. I tear a1/4 of a sheet of Shout Color Catcher and colors do not run. Towels are done in a separate load. Then when the load is dry, it’s so easy to carry to kids room and they put it away (if kids are old enough). Once our kids were about 10, they had learned to do their own laundry this way. This was a teaching responsibility and eliminated piles of dry laundry sitting on the couch for days. Prayers for a safe and healthy delivery!
Hi i have just found you , we are also on our minamlists journey we are a family of 5 but my oldest has moved out .we live in the uk , im struggling with my health so my home was driving me insane, my son has spd and he cant cope with a cluttered home . You videos got me off the sofa and back on clearing the clutter..thank you i have subscribed..just know we all have days we dont feel up to it but how great does it feel after..loved your husbands voice over it made me giggle ❤
He’s a character for sure 😁🤣 Thank you for watching and subscribing. You’re going to do so great!! Keep motivated and I pray your health only improves from here!! 🙌🏼❤️
This was so helpful to watch! Thank you for filming all of this. I've felt stuck in decluttering not knowing where to start but these are helpful to play while I clean. I'm glad you and your family were safe during the hurricanes!
I’m so glad it was helpful to you! That is my biggest goal sharing! You’re not alone my friend! Life gets in the way sometimes and it’s hard to keep up. But we’re able and we have this!!! 🫶🏼🫶🏼 stay motivated!!
I feel your struggle. When my kids were little, we lived in a 2 bedroom 650 sg ft condo. A few things that i learned was 1. if my kids struggled to pick up their toys, then they had more than they could manage. 2. Dont put things down. Put them away. 3. If it doesn't have a home, do i really need it 4. Before buying something, i ask myself, do i have a place for it, or do i really want to manage it. We buy things at different stages in our lives, but we hold on to things, thinking we might use it again, but most of them time we never do. For the socks, i would say pick a color for each person. Then you dont have to match and you know which ones go to who. Hope this helps. Cant wait to see more
Phenomenal getting the kids involved! That is giving them such a gift. I don’t know about all white & black socks being minimalist but I know they made my life so much easier! I switched over to that 23 years ago when our kids were one & two. Between them and my husband I had a “missing sock” laundry basket! It was maddening. Going through furniture cushions & digging under furniture on laundry days was ridiculous! I did at least one load a day, the socks became my arch nemesis! 🤣🤣 You’re doing such a fabulous job, what an inspiration. Make memories in your beautiful home! Those last forever. 💚💚💚
Something I learned, to have a neat and clean home, things must be put away to have nothing on floors but furniture legs. This means, many messy homes or those who struggle to find homes for things do not have enough furniture! This means ‘yes’ to a big old buffet cabinet to then put baskets of crafts, office supplies, extra electronics, cords, hats and gloves, and crockpot. Clean top with a doily and plant. All shoes go on a shelf with rug infront, and get a coat tree. All kitchenware should go into drawers, hot pads, cookware, and all spices put away except salt and pepper. Arrange things symmetrical. Have a desk to put all mail, in a basket. Again, no loose items, all office supplies should fit in drawers. Have a single cute catch-all basket on kitchen counter, one that can be moved easily to clean countertops. All appliances should be put away except those you use everyday. No more knife blocks, put knives in a drawer. Look at walls, are pictures symmetrical? It makes a difference. In bedrooms, each person should have a nice small box to keep their personal things in. This keeps dresser top free of debris. Also, each room should have a small trash can, kids need to have it handy to encourage cleaning up after themselves. I have two policies in my house…’you put it, you pick it’, I’m not a maid, and ‘bag in, bag out’ on all purchases to prevent excess clutter and hoarding. But even with these tips, I must go through everything on a regular basis to organize and purge old things, it’s a non-stop battle.😫
So many great tips. Thank you so much! Will definitely come back and recap on some of these! Sounds like you’ve got a great handle on things!! Great job!! ❤️🫶🏼
Just a thought since you commented that you keep moving bins around and that you are artistic..... many artistic people are visual organizers. I have found in my own space that figuring out how to store things in a visual way has greatly helped reduce the clutter. If we must use bins, I try to make sure they are see through, but a shelf with no bins or a low box like a wet cat food tray or the box from canning jars can set boundaries but let things be seen over the sides easily. Once I shove stuff in bins it might as well not exist.
That’s a really good idea! Thank you. Yes if I don’t see it, it might as well be gone too! I keep our groceries in open bins and it definitely helps not overstock and have too much! Thank you for this comment:)
I’m new here, love decluttering and cleaning videos, but only longer ones, like 20-60 minutes. Maybe it’s because I’m old, 71, but the high speed your shorts play at would drive me crazy if I watched more. I’m subscribing bec you said you’re thinking about doing longer ones. Now I don’t know if you just mean stringing shorts together like this 1 or if you mean 1 video that’s quite a bit longer. I also have never made a video, and have no idea what I’m hoping you will do, ie. more complicated than a short? requires new techniques, learning and/or planning? Anyway, you and your 4 little ones are lovely! You seem so mature and such a good mother! Your voiceover/narration of this video was so positive and encouraging and motivating! I’m very impressed! And how you juggle housekeeping, meal making and a decluttering project while keeping track of 4 little kids, AND you do it calmly, with positivity and grace… AMAZING! Your children are adorable, playful and all over the place (normal children), but not screaming or hitting each other. This has gotten ridiculously long. I hope you will do longer cleaning and food prep and meal making videos!
This comment made me smile. Thank you so much. I will do my best. Yes the longer videos just take a while to edit/ talk through! The shorts I can make in about 30 minutes where as the longer 20 minute videos take a little over 2 hours to make! I enjoy doing both so hope to please everyone. Thank you again for your encouragement. God is so good! My children are the biggest blessing. I try to keep my calm and raise them in love!! I’ve learned a lot in 8 years of my motherhood!
I also have 4 kids and expecting a fifth. What helps me tidy up is going around the house with basket and putting all the items that don't belong in the room in laundry basket, then sorting and putting it away. Also a laundry basket and a trash can.
I do this too! I just somehow never put the stuff back once it’s in the basket probably because it’s a lot of junk 🤣 hopefully the decluttering will help with that! Thanks for watching!! 🫶🏼
Regarding the socks: my husband and I only wear black or white socks. Typically I buy my kids a bunch of the same kind of socks that they wear for a few years. If we’re going to switch kinds, I will buy that kid like 30 pairs of that kind, then they might have different colors of that kind, but I let them wear two different colors if they want (or we can’t find a match) but they’re still comfortable because they feel the same on the foot. Who really cares if kids’ socks match? It’s colorful and fun to mix and match within the same style.
I agree I could care less if my kiddos choses to wear mix match socks. As long as they have socks on 😄🤗 the one kind /brand is really going to be nice to me!

Hi ...we have something in common. Our birthday is the same day. Happy belated birthday. So glad everyone is okay. God bless you and your family. I subscribe..yeah
Have you ever thought to just stack the kids clothes without folding? That’s what I do since they just mess up the folding when they get clothes to get dressed anyway lol
If you get all white socks and everyone wears a different size id put one dot on the for the oldest 2 for the second oldest 3 for the third etc so you know who wears what size.
So for socks. I do it different. I get socks from the school clothing department. One has black ankle socks, one has black trainer socks, one has black frill socks and so on......each child gets a different sock... one colour, so 7 pairs = 14 of the exact same sock .... as they are all different sizes, this works well for me, I have 4 younger ones now (I have 9) but my older kids do the same method too. I hope I explained this properly lol.
@@Mrssupermumm so 3 styles all black though! I might do all black for the kiddos. That would be nice! I’ll only have two in little little and maybe I’ll do theirs white and the other three black. I just bought my husband and I all white ankles and no show! So Hopefully that’ll be easier than trying to match brands and keep up 😅👍🏼
Thank you, they do help! I don’t show a lot of what they do. But part of it is my problem buying more and more toys and not putting into practice how and where the toys should go. So that’s what I’m working on. They do clean up though :)

So Hopefully that’ll be easier than trying to match brands and keep up 😅👍🏼
@@LifeasBekah that sounds great. 🔥

Creo que tus hijos deberían ayudar los veo suficiente mayores como para colaborar en la casa o por lo menos recoger sus juguetes
Thank you, they do help! I don’t show a lot of what they do. But part of it is my problem buying more and more toys and not putting into practice how and where the toys should go. So that’s what I’m working on. They do clean up though :)
Hola tu casa siempre esta sucia y desordenada p
orke tus hijos no tienen habito😂
Have you ever thought to just stack the kids clothes without folding? That’s what I do since they just mess up the folding when they get clothes to get dressed anyway lol
