I really appreciate you digging up (and into!) these hitherto largely unknown open-source applications that do neat stuff. You not only expose your audience to explore new creative ideas (which we may have otherwise not even thought of), but also help these open-source projects expand their user base and remind us of the best of the Internet and cooperative human endeavor!
Additional tip: If you're working with musical audio, you can typically see drum hits in the audio's waveforms as peaks, and you can use them as guides for word placement!
Wow, explanation in depth !! Had been wondering how cartoons spoke and now you have revealed the technique. I should mention that your voice quality is ' compassionate' & ' Generous' which should be exploited for characters having these traits !!
So, I'm utterly lost. My former roommate taught me how to set this up with After Effects AGES ago, and I forgot it all because it's been about 4 years. Did you do a tutorial on how to complete the animations in AE? I'm stuck building the controllers and the formulas, etc and I'm having a heck of a time finding anyone who actually uses this.
absolutely outstanding. thanks for your works. can you make a detailed tutorial on how to animate involving multiple speakers? and also, how do you control the timing of the mouth movement? the lip starts to move from the beginning of the animation although you may want the character to actually speak later
Hi Niko. Good question. I think it can be done. Papagayo has an option for exporting images of the mouth shapes, and then those images can be imported into Pencil2D. The problem is, I haven't been able to get the image export to work on Papagayo yet. Its also a little more work, but with some scripting and ImageMagick, you could do this yourself using any .dat file created from Papagayo and the associated mouth shape images. I'm still playing with this, and hope to have some videos on it soon...
Hi - Can Papagayo work with Final Cut Pro X? Can an audio file with voice-over recordings be imported into Papagayo? Would I be able to export the Papagayo audio and animation files and import those files into FCP X? Is there a program that can transcribe audio files into a text or MS Word doc that could then be copy and pasted into Papagayo?
What does anybody think about doing a 'Screen Capture' as the App as it runs. Putting that into Video editor. Mask out the mouth. And because your the capture has the audio... resyncing to original would be simple as matching up audio waveforms in timeline. Delete captured audio...& Slap it on your asset. -Thoughts?
Papagayo sucks! You make one change and have to start again! Not to mention that upon opening an existing file, you're met with a blank screen half the time. I know it's free, but this software is a pain to use. Would not recommend.

Thanks! That is exactly my goal and the driving force for me to make these videos.
Agree with you Harris !!

Amazing !! Thanks for this papagao tutorial, Tj free channel.🙂🙏🥰❤️
Thank you very much. This was very helpful
you are amazing buddy
Thanks for sharing this software. Should work better than live2D for my purposes. (since I just want lip synced animation)
Can you make & upload a video explaining how to combine Papagayo Lyp sync with an animation software. Appreciated.
Windows usually seems to stunt the number of export options... I've noticed that in a lot of other software too. I have no idea why.
Can it be exported as PNG video so we can just place it above a character who seems to be talking in our animation clips?
Did you test this out ?
The First!!! Good Tutorial
Thanks!
I think th ed different sounds are called, 'phonemes'.
Thanks MAN!
Can you combine Papagayo with Pencil 2D? Maybe it's a dumb question but I'm really a beginner...

Can we import this to Krita?
Good question. I'm not sure. It looks like in may need to rely on a sort workaround. I'll see if I can play with it and figure anything out.
