    Just remember, the more tracks you have overlapping, the more noise will add up. Even 3 or 4 tracks with sound overlapping will create a noticeable hiss. I remove this by applying a Low Pass filter, which doesn't leave you with the underwater sound of Noise Removal..

    • @Felipemelazzi
      @Felipemelazzi 4 года назад +4

      To avoid the distortion of Noise Reduction, I always create a duplicate of a track before applying it so I can easily compare the "after" and "before" and it helps fine-tune the tool's options ("Sensitivity" and "Frequency Smoothing") to find a balance between removing the noise and distorting the voice.
      Getting a good Noise Profile in the first place is the best way to go, but that's not always possible.

    • @CyberdogStudios
      @CyberdogStudios  4 года назад +16

      I try to teach my students to get in the habit of starting a and ending a recording session with a good 3 seconds of silence. This is anticipation of noise removal, and ensures that you get a clean sample of any ambient room and electronics noise.

      Very very nice you certainly do know your audacity.
      in case you never have pushed something out in 5.1 surround.
      Instead of exporting it as MP3.
      Hit export audio then you can mix your channels for different speakers and surround sound. I was hoping you might have a tutorial on your surround sound.

    *Pro Tip:*
    For those converting Cassettes, Vinyl, MiniDisc etc...
    Want to *Automatically create tracks* after recording a cassette?
    Select all. Analyze>Silence Finder.
    Then File>Export >Export Multiple.
    You now have all the songs on your cassette separated into individual tracks!!!
    Silence finder will search the entire track looking for silence in between songs and automatically create label boundaries.

    With your tip no.2 on Noise Reduction; you guessed the value of 18. Once you make the selection, instead of “noise reduction” use the Noise Gate first as it will tell you how much to reduce the noise by in Db. You then use Noise Reduction as before but use the suggested value.

But there is always a small slight buzz when nothing is happening, I did a lot to minimize this, but I recorded my own trigger sound samples and removing the buzz so my samples in the sample library sound amazing from the start instead of post editing it out!

But for the last 2-3 days, audacity is recording my instrumental track up by 2 pitches than the actual pitch in which i play the tone. i am not able to understand why it is doing it. My audacity project rate (Hz) is 44100 and i changed it to 44800 but in vein.... please help me how to enable audacity to record in the pitch which i play my key board and not in different pitch.....

    These are some really cool tips. I just downloaded version 3 which has the mp3 ability pre-installed so you don't have to do anything else to get it. Anyone who gave your video a thumbs down, in my opinion is a Karen and sucks! This was a superb video! Good job bro!

    I used to use noise removal. No matter what setting it's at it interferes with the vocals and causes distortion the higher the setting is. I'd rather slight background noise than slight vocal distortion.
