    lDo you think Anambra people deserve explanation why Peter Obi did not conduct local government election in 8 years and what happened to the funds/ allocation ?or we should just forgive and forget?

    I just want to find out who then conduct the local government elections going by this judgement. Is it the federal government or state government

  • @babatopeapoeso5788

    What about the legitimacy of the LG? The states INEC or States Electoral Commission are still under the State Governors influence which would still conduct the LG elections nationwide which are always manipulated by the state Governors or the political in power at the state level.
    So indirectly this ruling by the Supreme Court would still not solve the issue with the LG autonomy!
    If Governors and the ruling political parties pick the candidates for LG chairmen, they would be bound to follow the Governors instructions even with respect to finances! So I think the solution is that main INEC at the federal should be conducting LG elections which the state governors will not be able to influence and this means that National Assembly would have to amend the electoral act.
    This also means that we still have a long way to go and this is not the end of this matter so the National Assembly still have big role to play to bring a lasting solution to this LG automomy case
    If not we are still deceiving ourselves and the Supreme Court judgements would more or less won't be effective and will not achieve the intended goals and objectives in the long run

    the supreme court is the highest court of any country, the representation of the countries laws, part of the problems of this country has been a supreme court that doesnt sit!, no cases! BUT we have to congratulate the court on this, theyve looked at this issue with scrutiny.
    However what remains is for the local government to bring up another law suit to allow them get these funds DIRECTLY, bypassing the state government

    Give this one to Tinubu. Even though I will still not vote for him. Excellent decision.
    Lets keep watching to see if he will win us all over.

  • @Godsgrace-jo7ev

    That is a deceit from d hell. This is for political reasons. Tinubu was d one that vehemently finance against the local government autonomy when he was d governor of lagos state. He do collect money from all d local government chairman bcos of selfishness and in order to finance his presidential ambition in the future. Now,he fought tooth and nail to stop it bcos he wanted to hijack rivers state and all other state. Note that Tinubu is never the will of the people bcos of his unempathetic way of life to d people. He doesn't care about you but only cares about himself alone and his cronies. Note also and I bet you Tinubu can never ever win any election in nigeria unless he rigs like the last election. He is never the peoples choice, and he will never be one. If you like come and arrest me bcos I am saying the truth. God will judge all of you looting the commonwealth of the people and turning us to be the poverty capital of the world bcos of greed. You stole d mandate of the people without remorse, and you want to be successful, never.

      You are a liar and pure evil, and there is no truth in you. Tinubu supported LG at all level and allowed them their autonomy, and that's exactly every government that has come after tinuhu has been doing. Obidient, be truthful for once. Obi was against LG autonomy, and he never conducted any local government elections while he was governor, and that same Obi will open his mouth to say he's democratic. He will never be president in this country

    • @Jimmysteeve
      @Jimmysteeve 6 месяцев назад +2

      How old are you when tinubu was a gorvnor of lagos state? Because if you are old enough you will understand the trajectory of his policy, he was denied local government funds from federal government led by Obj for creating more local government. And he tinubu funds the local government he created with lagos money without the support of federal government for over good 8 years, he later took Obasanjo to court which he won the case..... majority of just hate tinubu regardless of he does everything have to be scrutinised by you ill-informed blokes

      @Godsgrace-jo7ev politics is not about opinions which you narrated here. If they invite you what evidence did you have to backup your claim the reasons why the supreme Court gave autonomy to local government was because of tinubu interests in rivers state politics
