Mali, Niger & Burkina Faso have signed a confederation treaty on Saturday, underscoring their desire to leave the West African bloc ECOWAS. ECOWAS met on Sunday and tried to make a case for the continued existence of the 50-year bloc. ECOWAS plans to create a counter terrorism squad and introduce a new currency. Will this be enough to bring back the junta-run Sahel states?

France killed it the first time because it would end the CFA franc. ECOWAS is a puppet organisation. Now that the AES is working on their own bank and currency, ECOWAS is bringing an ECO which is only the same in name, and still French owned.

This disgrace will go down in history as Tinubu's legacy in ECOWAS, which may not be different from what is going to happen in Nigeria. Just a matter of time. The fact that ECOWAS Head's of state decided to elect Tinubu who was still in court trying to know his fate following an election that was described internationally as undemocratic (not free or fair) was proof that the Group of corrupt rulers in ECOWAS were not serious.
