Brilliant tutorial as always. My knowledge of Affinity Photo just gets better thanks to you. Love the live streams, thank you so much for all the effort you put in.
Fantastic Olivio, got to make a Macro of this.I have added a small twist in that the lighting filter has it's own mask you can play around with this also.
@@OlivioSarikas I will!! Thank you for the video . One question.. just to clear my mind.. people are saying Photoshop is industry level program ( sorry my English) but ain't affinity photo is as equal.. ? Like when you learn it well. It can. Pretty much do the job... Like any job.. silly question I just need to hear this 😅
Hi Ari, Affinity can do much of it, but when people say Photoshop is industry standard, what they mean is that likely everyone in your pipeline is going to work with adobe products. So your customers and others, like ad agencies or marketing companies are expecting adobe files, so they can work with them. Affinity can technically open PSD files, but not really, because Photoshop works in different ways
Trying to follow this tutorial, I am finding my images are far darker and less sharp. May I ask why this is happening. Also, when I add the lighting and gaussian filters, they do not pop to the top, so I have to drag them to the top.
Thank you. You can use a Bump map (which is a height map) with the effect. This makes a bit more sense for textures, like a stone wall and such. for portraits I think this trick works better and easier
@@OlivioSarikas I made a test and it gave a very cool, strange, and amazing effect. It depends on the type of texture. In combination with the Opacity slider, the results are very, very customizable.

Thx for the video. One question: What are Load bump map and Clear bump map options from Live Lighting for?
