Thank you so much for it. I used to use filled layers of cones with blend modes to emulate light, I didn't know about this filter. Well explaned as always, James.

I love the videos you create and they are easy to follow. I love the Affinity Products and see how the have progressed over time. I am a Serif/Affinity user from the very first beginning and still using them daily in my work. Thank you Serif for creating such fantastic products. Cheers, Hendrik

Thanks James, great tutorial, I'd previously just experimented with this filter, this nicely filled in gaps in my knowledge e.g. I'd no idea what a bump map was. Cheers!

This is awesome! I wish Serif would put filters into Designer. It would be fun to create with.

Question: where is the "light ring" layer? The background layer was easy, but the circle alludes me. And I'm afraid I'm overlooking it right in front of me. Very helpful video. Thanks.

Thank you. This was quite helpful. Question, what if you don't want the texture to show up beyond the bounds of the building? Is there a way to make the extraneous textured section invisible?

Interesting...but I really don't understand the "directional" light type....can you do a more in-depth lesson on what exactly this is and what it is doing?
I couldn't really figure it out from this lesson.....
Thank you in advance...I'm a HUGE fan of Affinity!!

Thanks.. To be honest.. Directional Lighting still makes no sense to me.. I really don't understand what exactly it does. It looks like it does a completely different thing than the spot and point lights
