It's called the Toyota Venza in North America, priced starting at $33k USD, RM 138k. Much different than the outgoing Venza.

Very tough for Hafiz to be courteous and respectful introducing all the dinosaur technology
A very handsome SUV, probably very reliable, but sadly let down by :-
1. Underpowered 2.0 NA engine
2. No 360deg camera
3. Cheapo dashcams
4. Very shallow and small boot
5. CVT gearbox
6. Not premium steering wheel
7. Not so functional moonroof
8. Non HD screen
9. Ugly exposed exhaust
If cvt then it is bluntly budget vehicle

Funny how toyota positions this to go against the german brands but in fact it can’t even beat mazda in terms of interior design and quality.
Mazda's design and material is better than Toyota but reliability wide Toyota still the best.

I experienced the same unacceptable levels of wind noise from the driver side when i test drove it a few weeks ago. I don't think it's limited to the car you test drove, seems to be a common issue - a real deal-breaker for me.

If with the Japan full spec 12' screen entertainment, jbl sound system, 360camera, HUD,.... price 250k still can go for it....this a bit kosong
Another good review, Hafiz. Looks like this Harrier have more shortcomings (for its category) than most that you have done before, that was my take! The Cross Hybrid scores higher.....despite NOT within this class/price range.
This Toyota Harrier comes with 2litre NA and a CVT gearbox for Rm250k? That's not very good value for money though!

A fail design cater to the market in my opinion
The hybrid version is 2.5L if that's what you're looking for.
For the price that UMW Toyota is asking for this car, the engine and the infotainment screen alone is enough to make people shop elsewhere.
Also, the ”S" in SUV stands for "Sports", so I don't quite agree that such and anemic engine in a RM250k SUV is acceptable.

I just can't agree with you more on the odd placement of the rear turn signals on the bumper. A) Taller vehicles may not be able to see the signal and B) Bumper is the first point of contact in a rear end collision and that would be the end of the turn signals too. Bad design choice indeed.
To low for a signal light. If the back car is too close especially in traffic jam, nobody will see the signal
Own harrier acu30 for 10 years already. Still in good condition with standard wear and tear
Do a review on the top tier model with all the trimmings ...hybrid with a 2.5 L engine , advanced display , genuine leather interior etc etc ... Don't bash the humble entry level trim

so call "kereta cantik" for flex purposes only....but not for driving excitement
People have their own reason when buying something. Some for driving excitement, some just need a car to go from A to B, some just for flex and show to people around them that they are rich. I see no problem with that.

Mangkuk your comparison is not valid. You are comparing economic:premium:luxury. Compare against its own class to get the answer. For example Mazda Cx5:CRV:X-Trail.
I m looking for a replacement for my wife CX5 2018. Based on the few reviews I went through here, I think the interior design and material in CX5 outruns Harrier. The only downside of CX5 i can think of (for rear passengers) is the cockpit sound proof, especially when you drive on highway, doing like 110 or above.
The back seats are reclinable like the Harrier's, the support is strong and yet confortable enough. Check out the crash tests, CX5 get better marks if compared to Harrier. Especially on the fatal side impact, CX5 is 1 of the very few that able to get "good" rating. If my memory is correct, even Volvo XC40 and Audi Q3 get only "acceptable" rating. Beside, CX5 with GVC technology also did a high score in moose test, it is definitely a plus point for passenger confortability.
The reason I picked CX5 over Harrier few years back is because of the 6sp auto gearbox in CX5. CX5 is definitely a better car for driver, a very safe car for passengers. Probably you may skip Harrier and check out Lexus NX straight. (The reason had me decided to move on is the quality and capability of the SC).
Rear view mirror is good for real world situation when you have the boot/trunk packed up to the roof and you are not able to see from the inside
Check out the 2023 Toyota Sequoia, now that's a stunningly gorgeous SUV. Made for USA only I believe.

If the car still need cable to connect to the apple car play then it is definitely not a luxury segment car.
Would appreciate if you can compare this Toyota Harrier and the up and coming Honda CRV Hybrid when it is launch in Malaysia. My head goes to Honda CRV Hybrid as I view these two cars are comparable although the price level are not the same. But apart from the price different and perceived quality different, what really do they differ?

I think all Toyota car dashboard design is 'ketinggalan zaman'. Especially on higher range like alphard and vellfire. It looks old as fuk and doesn't match the price for a modern car. Why is this happening? 🤔

I bash the new Harrier when first launched because of its lame drivetrain. But till I saw the real car park in front of me, can't take my eyes off it. People who prefer Lexus or Toyota the powertrain will never be their first priority. Those who craving for power should take German beast. What Lexus offering is the quality of drive and ride with exceptional reliability. That's why Lexus attract so many rich uncle and aunty to buy it. I still enjoy my German beast but one day I will take a Lexus for myself.

IMHO, I think CX-30 got a prettier internal design and features... The infotainment system could not match with what Mazda offers as of now...

obviously its for those whos not much into tech or power or design, just for the one looking for an easy plain reliable car that last.
A moderate SUV .. with low tech features ... CRV is better equipped with 1.5 L turbo VTEC and Sensing .. cost RM70 k cheaper

I noticed most people that bought this car doesn’t care about the power at all but rather the comfort to get to point a to point b. If you’re one of those kids that likes to go 200 on the city roads then u should probably get a porsche cayenne, urus, audi sw5. However the price cannot be compared with just a mere civic la. 😅
