    With over RM250k, I will go for GLC 200. My friend having this, after almost 2 yrs the engine giving him problem. He regretted not buying the GLC.

    • @KonWaiLuen
      @KonWaiLuen  6 лет назад +3

      What sort of issues did your friend faced? From a Toyota!!
      But yeah, the GLC 200 is a very sweet drive. Superb suspension, and balanced RWD dynamics. Only thing lacking is keyless entry.

      Yeah, his Harrier having gearbox and some engine problems which he didn't elaborate in details. The SC said it will cost 20k to repair.

    the HU is like an aftermarket thought... those that came with the recon units is much nicer looking and more integrated

    • @KonWaiLuen
      @KonWaiLuen  6 лет назад

      The HU is locally installed. The cars came in with a kosong dashboard. Recon units have factory-fitted infotainment and naturally have a better integrated look.

    The big reason for Toyota separating the Harrier from the RX, is when it was 1st marketed Japan did not have the Lexus brand. Toyota didn't introduce in until 2005, two years after the 2nd gen Harrier debuted. They kept the Harrier essentially the same and on the 2nd gen RX platform even after the 3rd gen RX was introduced, probably because it sold well. When it came time to redesign it they went with the NX/RAV4 platform but styled it differently from both, and in it's home market, it's starting price is in between that of the RAV4 and the NX.

    Hi Kon
    Can CHR compare to the Harrier? The Chr I own is 1.2 turbo a little different to the one in Malaysia. But we don`t see Harrier around very often. Maybe we have to directly import it from Japan.

    • @yangerek78
      @yangerek78 6 лет назад

      Henry Wong CH-R is more comparable with the vexel or HRV of honda or CX-3. We i sm from down south of Malaysia there are plentu of harrrier running around. I think Harrier is a big luxury SUV

    • @KonWaiLuen
      @KonWaiLuen  6 лет назад +2

      Totally different size and class of vehicle.

    • @chongu
      @chongu 6 лет назад

      I have a CHR and currently waiting for harrier. As Kon said it is a totally different class. Think of the CHR as a raised Camry. And think of a Harrier as a fat egg shaped car for comfortable city driving.

    Good review, Kon! when i browse Carlist I noticed there are many Harrier 2.0 model (recon and used) for sale, but not many for 2.4 and 2.7 models. This is just Selangor and WP alone. My mechanic, who also buy and sell used car on the side, told me more people are disposing this model compares to the other 2 models. This trend sure does say something. What do you think, Kon?

    The signal lights on these cars looks nice but dont they seem to be too thin/small?
    unless people are driving close to these cars.
    Those that are speeding thru the lanes could easily miss the signals..
    especially when its super bright outside to a point that small light sources look like they arent turned on at all

    I guess next year parallel importer will bring in Turbo version as well. Why Parallel importers still exist:
    1) price (cheaper by far)
    2) spec given facelift to facelift (JDM) parallel importer choose better spec to bring in.
    3) Now there is GMR exist, basically warranty not an issue.

    • @KonWaiLuen
      @KonWaiLuen  6 лет назад

      A matter of choice. The parallel importers can stay in business as long as they bring in products that consumers want.

      I know the difference. The difference between both car is that harrier has slightly more power and panaromic sun roof compare to crv. The rest feature almost the same. To me that is not worth for the car at that pricing range.

    • @KonWaiLuen

    How do you compare this Harrier against Subaru XV ?
    In term of NVH, refine of the engine along with transmission.. Thanks !!

    • @KonWaiLuen
      @KonWaiLuen  6 лет назад +1

      Wahh.... interesting comparison. Harrier is way quieter from the inside due to better soundproofing, but the XV's Boxer engine is naturally refined due to its design so it actually pulls smoother.

    Hi Kon great review
    How will you compare this cars driving Dynamics with the Honda CR-V, in my country the harrier costs a lot more so I need your help to decide whether to choose this or the Crv??

    • @KonWaiLuen
      @KonWaiLuen  6 лет назад +1

      Dynamically, the CR-V is better - you get slightly sharper handling, but not by much. Ride comfort, about equal. Harrier trumps on long distance driving though, thanks to its 2.0 engine vs the CR-V's 1.5.
