@@user-lq4mo8dw1p yes I know 😔, I would’ve liked them to be fully painted heritage units like Norfolk Southern, Canadian Pacific, Canadian national, etc. The real fans were angry (like me) to see that the cabs wasn’t painted.
A friend told me about this when I asked why they had the CSX cab on their Conrail HU. He basically said it represents them pulling along history or heritage.
Actually it is. Seaboard systems, which is shown in the video, is the old name of SCL. Given that this is a heritage unit it makes sense that it would use the old name. From the Wikipedia article, “The Seaboard System's roots trace back to SCL Industries, a holding company created in 1968 that combined the Seaboard Coast Line's subsidiary railroads into one entity. In 1969, SCL was renamed Seaboard Coast Line Industries.” Hope that clears it up for you.
@@DankHank28 Fully aware of this. However, Seaboard Coast Line was not the only railroad to form “Seaboard System”. This railroad had a very short existance. Just like Chessie System for example, which wasn’t actually a real railroad. They didn’t have any of their own reporting marks, or tracks. Going by Wiki logic (of course), that would make 1973 the C&O heritage unit. Seaboard System and Seaboard Coast Line are two different things. One is independent, one is a merger of multiple railroads. CSX has not done an actual SCL heritage unit yet, as “Seaboard System” was created by SCL & L&N, and the railroads under the Family Lines entity.
Damn, that dash 8 second out would’ve been nice to see leading.
I love those trucks on the dash 8s. It probably still has analog air brakes gauges but a ptc screen too lol
That is a beautiful K5LAR on 1982

People: 😄👋
basically me: WHY WOULDN’T CSX JUST PAINT THE CABS ON THEIR HERITAGE UNITS?!?! 😡
Because CSX is the parent company, so in what CSX said they are pulling their heritage....
The same question is why does UP put their heralds on theirs???
