I am from eastern India (Odisha). A state near your all time favorite Bengal. I enjoy both Bollywood and South Indian Movies (Telugu, Malyalam, Kannada and Tamil). My humble request- now that u have watched enough of bolly movies, its time to take a trip down south. South Indian movies are very earthly and huamane. In addition to that they have top notch technical artistry embedded in their filmaking. If bhansali creates opulent set pieces, mani ratnam makes nature as his canvas. If Nawaz is the perfect acting shop then Vijay Sethupathi (and many others) are a true example of acting workshop. Music-they are very thematic and align with the movie's branding. Please suggest some movies folks 🙃

The movie is Pithamagan. This is a must watch film, one of those cult movies. It had two of the biggest stars at that time, Vikram and Surya. Vikram and Surya swept most awards that year with Vikram also winning the National Award.

His best film is Sethu. It was this film by which he got a big entry into Tamil cinema. He portrays two completely different characters in both halves of the film. If you are looking for his best acting performance, you should watch Anniyan, where he plays a guy with multiple personality disorder. Do watch both and waiting for your reviews on both films❤️

In this movie, Vikram's character grew up in a cemetery. His father was an undertaker. He grew up without any other human contact, hence, his ruggedness throughout the song. Which in turn portrays the friendship among the group, and also love between them.
He is also in the movie David. Yun Hi Re (Hindi) and Kanave Kanave (Tamil) both are really good songs with amazing background score.
I got emotional by the visuals only... (Without understanding the lyrics) . It's Awesome...

I wish I could interpret the visuals for you guys in so many places ! For instance, the tattoo on Suriya's chest is not his girlfriend's but his best friends, that's why she is getting mad at him. Another emotional gesture was when Suriya breaks the roti for his friend (that's a gesture mother's do for their kids) so when a friend does that to his best friend it brings another level of emotions. Another place was when Vikram's character offers the sari to Sangeetha's character, I wish I could tell you guys the importance or significance of that custom here in India ! 🙏
