Not a dig at the "main" comment but always in the replies comes all the retired F1/Super GT/WTCC/WRC/etc drivers theorizing and clamoring about how they could have saved it. We're human. Mistakes happen.
Great result! Kept the car in one piece, didn’t cause any accidents, didn’t come in last, and the footage was fantastic. Can’t ask for more than that first time out especially in the wet. Great stuff.
Props to doing the right thing and not going batshit on your fist time out due to ego. I like the approach of learning while being as safe as possible. We all know the speed you're capable of achieving and it will def come in time. Great vid as always.
I've been following this civic from the beginning, it is hands down my favorite civic on RUclips. It keeps on evolving better and better. Top stuff! Huge respect from Capetown south Africa.
So awesome to see you and the civic in wheel to wheel! You’ve progressed so much over the years and are an inspiration to novice drivers. Great work Ben😊
I agree with several people in the comments. You did awesome.. I used to think I could race but as I got older I came to realize just what it took and how much practice I will need to undergo... that spin towards the end of the video I really thought you would pull it out, that last slip was very rude for not letting you pull that off 😂
ive been following this channel for years and watching you take baby step towards wheel to wheel racing ! amazing Ben! love how you set an expectation was to at least beat one car today and not attempt to take podium as this is a new ball game to you. keep up the great work youre def more than capable of being on the podium - looking forward to MORE content!!! all the best mate from Australia!
this stuff is mega sick to watch; gridlife videos like these just make me wanna take a shot at joining MYSELF once i've got enough track time hopefully one day in the near future, i suppose
Wish there didn't have to be a week between uploads. Quickly becoming one of my favorite channels, the content is exactly what I look for, for entertainment & fun.
The last tail snap on the spin out had me puckering up in MY seat. Very good save keeping the car in check for that long. You can tell from watching that, how much you and the car have connected over the years. Can't wait to see more!
I couldn't belive this channel could get any better, and then it did. Man I've laughed, I've cried. This video is everything. I hope this series does wonderfully so that you guys can keep bringing us this amazing content. What an inspiration!
This seems very simolar to our IPRA series here in Australia and I am 100% here for it. Really exciting to see unique approaches to turning quite different production cars into wheel to wheel track weapons and watching how the different skill levels, mechanical performance and driving styles compete is awesome.
Great work Ben. Looking forward to seeing you climb the ranks. The new livery looks great. The rear, the black livery against the black wheel, the civic shape, for some reason altogether it evokes the memory of your old Honda Insight.
Houghton, Kutil and Swenson interviews? I'm impressed. They're always front runners in GLTC. Sharing their experience here is pure gold. Once I heard Gridlife was coming to Watkins Glen (my home track) I started watching replays from the 2022 season and became familiar with some of the names. I'm glad to see the drivers are super down to earth and love racing! It was a wet one...
I don’t comment often on videos, but I HAVE to say I’m proud of you for putting yourself out there like this and even if you didn’t win, you gave it your full effort and kept your head high, as you should! Proud of y’all!
Well done! Exceedingly lucky with that spin in Race 3... WGI is my favorite track ...raced in the dry, the wet, the cold, the cold and wet...very tricky in the wet. Great work for your first race.
G&G time attack videos were great, this wheel to wheel video is even better. Needed that rain light in the first race! I do not watch many racing videos but this looked very competitive, all in.
Well done Ben! Im so excited to follow your growth in this new series! I had an eg8 as my first car, needless to say kutil has just found himself an extra follower as well!
Awesome to see you in this series! And cool to see Eric Kutil, I believe I talked to him briefly, he's awesome. I love to see that white Ecoboost Mustang, I've talked to him before and seen him in the forums. I looked in to doing the series myself but their is a LOT of stuff to check off to be able to do this series, I'll stick to autocross and drifting for now! AND NICE JOB SAVING THE CAR! Can't wait to see it run another day!
i like the new vid set up.. having the commentators talking while you race makes it feel like imsa. well done ben you done good. first time on gltc and in the wet?? INSANE
Ben's eyes at 16:10 says it all. Don't even need to see the inside of the firesuit to know it needs a wash ;) .... AMAZING driving man. Well done getting out of that one.
You went up to my home track!!!!! I always take pride in the prestige of the track and love it when there are either super know races (LeMans, NASCAR and others) or have people like you up there. Most I can say is welcome to upstate NY.
This is dope to see what all these different builds can do specially were there all around same power to weight ... be rad af , I love explain power to weight to ppl cuz I drive a big turbo miata so 3-400hp in a car that done even weigh a ton is like a 6-700 hp mustang for power to weight comparison, so this should be a super dope season .. besta luck Ben hope ya can kick same azz this season ... peace and love to all keep it rad stay safe and build on l8z
I have thoroughly enjoyed watching you and the Civic progress through the different classes and I hope to be able to get into racing as well one day. The Civic/Miata road trip video was what brought me to your channel and I've watched everything since! My only gripe is not hearing more of that engine screaming, sounds so good lol.
I just want to take a moment to appreciate and thank you for the time and effort that went into this video, the interviews with drivers, editing multiple cameras, syncing the race commentary, all the b roll footage, I could go on and on. I know this takes soooooo much time
I am soo used to seeing Ben win all of his previous grid life season even though that was time attack. I dont know but want to see Ben on the podium soon. All the best and You can do it 💪
Im on my edge of my seat and holding my breath the moment you spun side to side. So glad no one was hurt and you manage to save the car as well from damage. Great job and keep on pushin, Ben!
Absolutely fantastic video. I can't believe those conditions though! Mixing in the Gridlife in-car footage and commentary really helped bring home how intense this must've been.
This is amazing content to live vicariously through. I love that you interview the other drivers and cover their races as well, it makes the story so much more full. I would have enjoyed hearing your final session results at the end, just as a benchmark so e we can enjoy watching the improvement over the season :)
Ben had the right idea, as a newcomer you don't have much of a chance at winning or even placing high up. Instead, the important part is to finish without getting destroyed, which he did and fantastically!
Good job Ben. I watch this live and was pumped to see you move up every round. You guys do a great job on your content probably one of the best on RUclips in my opinion
As a Honda technician, if you fill the transmission from the top you should put the vehicle on a level surface and take out the fill plug on the side. This will ensure accurate transmission fluid level as it will drain out once it has reached capacity.
After the CV Axle mishap, I'm sure Ben calmly discussed his options after he made his way off the track.
I would be mad but this just means you're a fan.
Spot on.
Love how you guys embraced the faux pas in the last video hahahaha
