  • Did you know that lots of bottled water comes from the same sources as tap water & regulated with the same standards? Save $$ & the environment! Use a reusable bottle filled with filtered tap water!

    I actually work at the water department in a town in texas. We are actually at a higher standard then bottled water , drinking water for us to send it out has to be at a 6.5ph or better it's normally closer to 7 to 7.5 with a residual of .03 atleast ... iv tested a lot of bottled water they are normally at or around a 3.5 ph, which is acidic with a chlorine residual of .02 or less witch does not meet the standard of drinking water at least in texas

      Do you filter out birth control? Only up to 10 percent is absorbed by the body

    • @picklerick9805
      @picklerick9805 11 месяцев назад

      @JT-co1mp no, but it is hit with clorine and a GAC filter . It kills most of it, but you are still getting it . Most male fish have female organs, which tells you all over the world it's not working 100%, personly I don't drink water bottles , I would drink city water over it . But mostly, I drink reverse osmosis from my water well. Nature filtered from chemicals and regular filters to get all the rust and sand out of my drinking water

    Idk about the US, but here in Romania most bottled water sources are well known mountain springs that have natural mineral water and it's mandatory that they write the water source on the bottles. People can even visit these springs themselves.
    The tap water isn't even close.

    There is no way that you think disinfected byproduct, fluoride and, micro plastics are just as prevalent in purified bottle water as they are in tap water

    • @WaterNerdTV
      @WaterNerdTV  9 месяцев назад +4

      Actually studies show that microplastics in bottled water may be higher: extension.psu.edu/microplastics-in-our-waters-an-unquestionable-concern
      What he said in the video is that the water comes from the same source.
      DBPs form when disinfectant in the water interact with organic material when water travels through the pipes. Fluoride is added to the water afterward (in most cases; there are locations that have naturally occuring fluoride at the source as well). So you are correct that DBPs and Fluoride (if it's not added into the water) would be less likely to be found in bottled water.
      Bottled water manufacturers also have water quality reports for their water so contact them to see their reports!

    In Australia we have clean tap water no need for a filter

    • @WaterNerdTV
      @WaterNerdTV  10 месяцев назад +1

      We advise everyone, regardless of where they are, to look up the data for their tap water. Also, to find out what is being tested for and what isn't. Unfortunately PFAS and microplastics have been detected even in the remotest parts of the world so the best thing people can do is be informed.

      @@WaterNerdTV Bro, I looked up the data on tap water in Australia, and all the tables are empty. When I read the fine print at the bottom, it said "Australian tap water is God's piss, so data isn't necessary". I guess that, err, clears it up.

      Especially if you were using bottled water that was "purified water" because that would most likely be RO purified water, meaning that the minerals had been stripped out of the water.

    • @WaterNerdTV
      @WaterNerdTV  5 месяцев назад

      The safest option is to avoid single-use plastic bottles altogether. Even expensive water brands in plastic bottles can leach microplastics and nanoplastics into the water. Scientists are recommending the safer (and more eco-friendly option) which is using refillable/reusable water bottles (glass or stainless steel) and fill them with filtered tap water.

    • @WaterNerdTV
      @WaterNerdTV  2 месяца назад

      The pH of the water isn't necessarily the best indicator of the water quality. You definitely want to check the bottled water companies for their water quality report and look at the levels of contaminants, especially arsenic and PFAS.

      Local bottled water sources, especially purified water, is typically processed tap water. In the case of Fiji Water, it's probably just Fiji tap water that they bottle and ship.
