  • a quick upload review on the fly as I am away this Christmas
    worth watching til the end I promise :-) I wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy new year :-)
    so the worx wx739 makerX is hear and as always I try and bring you the best worx products reviewed and detailed to let you guys know the ins and ours of the products
    so I will start with its fairly unique design:
    cordless thanks to its powershare battery, 20v gives this beasty up to 10a of portable power and its umbilical system means it has no need to carry the extra weight of a battery leaving you to craft and cut to your hearts content without the extra momentum of a battery, one hand on the work one hand on the power and speed lead to endless creative opportunity, it is brushless too so offers huge power for its size, standard 1/8" (3.2mm) collet means all the accessories from any existing rotary tool manufacturers fit straight in, not only that but the hub system allows for 8 other tools to slot straight in to the hubs ample umbilical cord and power up a huge range of really useful mini tools, cutting, heating, blowing, glueing, snipping, soldering, spraying, lighting, its all there for you to tailor which ever setup suites you (only one tool at a time though).
    Overall a marvelous tool with innovative functionality that makes the competition look laughable, oh and it is compatible with the full range of dremel accessories too including drill press, router, table router, bench holder and so much more!

      Haha! Even I find the instructions confusing sometimes, I always akin them to those wonderful build it yourself sweedish furniture kits instructions - written in a language only my wife can fully understand! Though luckily most of the time the instructions are there as a guide and the product is fairly self explanatory.

    Great review 😍 I love the little maker x it’s a nice accompaniment to my larger grinders and something you can just take anywhere. I’m mentioned on my own review you can unscrew the end piece which means you can fit a few different Dremel accessories but even better, it just makes it easier to hold :)

      The portability is great, I like using it on sanding my slabs of oak as it is perfect to get round the burrs and keep the character of the wood :-) 😀 the fitment is not exact but it can accept the dremel attachments, I would say use at your own discretion, knowledge and experience, I cant honestly say I have an m32 coarse thread tap and die if things go a bit pear shaped :-P lol

Having said that, I search around there and can only find an orange Worx battery to Makita tool adapter (mine is dewalt battery to worx tool. ) Mind you worx has two version of 18v battery, the orange one and a bigger green one, and it seems everybody want the green one here in china , and worx has announced they will change over to green one at least in Asia. Just bought their MakerX mini blower and it’s in green.their MakerX tools speed control adapter has two version for two types of battery. I am a bit annoyed with the dewalt adapter thingy and just bought one worx battery and clip it with the worx control to my belt.

    Awesome. I’ve been looking for cordless options for bone carving and wanted a reasonable, non-US based perspective for the Worx vs Dremel 8220. I reckon it’ll be a Worx purchase. Cheers chap.

    • @mikesptworld
      @mikesptworld  2 года назад

      I try to keep as unbiased as possible in my videos, but with the smooth performance, light weight, and ergonomic grip along with non restrictive cord (dremel extension wand only can be bent a certain radius and requires constant re-lubrication) the makerx also features a safety cut out where as the dremel does not, in fact if it were to get completely stuck it would toast the motor and cause a potential fire. Therefore the makerx is a winner in my book, I will also add using the cut off wheel it feels slightly strained but worx do make a specific mini die-grinder tool specifically for the cut off wheels. I will review this in due course :-)

    • @mikesptworld
      @mikesptworld  8 месяцев назад

      The batteries rely on standard 20v power packs. in the USA they have belt clips and a USB port on the hub, in the uk we have neither, I'm unsure why the 'inequality' between the USA and the rest of the world. But even they only have USB A ports, I do think worx are due to release some kind of USB C related charger, the power is now there it just needs to be harnessed by worx :-)

    Hi Mike!
    Very good video, I am deciding to buy it, however I have a couple of doubts.
    Does it still work just as well after a year?
    How much usage time does the 2Ah battery give in light use from 5,000 to 15,000 rpm?
    and, Can an adapter or keyless chuck be put on this tool to use other size bits and burs?

    • @mikesptworld
      @mikesptworld  Год назад +1

      ruclips.net/video/RUQjWvc6gi4/видео.html
      Just for you :-) assuming the math works the theoretical max run time is circa 4 hours on a 2ah battery, naturally you will get peaks and troughs using it but at very least you will be looking at 45 mins to an hour, problem is peaks are very high and damage a otherwise flawless average so can really mess with run times overall. And as per video the adjustable chuck does fit.

    • @mikesptworld
      @mikesptworld  2 года назад

      Hi, thanks for asking the question, you Nedd both the battery, and the hub then your choice of maker x tool, the anti overload / safety feature can get a bit annoying on the 38mm cut off discs so I am expecting the specific made micro grinder tool to be made with a more torque orientated motor set up and less sensitive overload stop. Watch this space as it is one of the first extra tools I will be after reviewing.

      Haha! An umbilical hub is probably a better way to describe it, though having a powerful brushless motor and no battery sure gives it a huge advantage over a dremel, sort of a once tried you can never go back sort of moment.

      Very little, it's only as smooth as the bit you put un the end! And some of mine were not as straight as they could have been :-P not to the eye but when they are at 20,000 rpm they really show then wobble out beyond that speed, bought brand new dremel bits and they are fine, compared with my cordless dremel 4,000 series and 8200 cordless the makerx is like comparing a suzuki swift with a Rolls Royce phantom, it's a different level! Sending with the sanding drum is like sanding butter, it just feels quality, and I find it is mainly down to the light weight of the tool and the brushless motor too.

Overall the two machines are very different and clearly aimed at two separate areas of the market all be it performing the same tasks.
