My two girls have always been very quiet and huddle inside, seldom coming out for too long. Could there be an issue? I've had them for a month now, and someone else did before me for two years, they were unable to care for them anymore. What can I do? I only have a limited amount of space.
I am curious about the cage you have in the video. What size is it and how many piggies call it home? It looks remarkably similar to the one I built a couple years ago when my herd expanded. I am thinking of expanding again as I have one female who is the brunt of three other girls unfriendly attention. The three older ones don't treat her poorly like the siblings her age do. I have a boar in another cage who I am slowly helping learn herd manners so to speak. The picked on female and the boar have had decent interactions so far. He just needs to learn his manners. He was a single piggy whose owner grew bored of him. I have space and time, but I want to make sure I have plenty of space for them all.
I really have a question I just got my piggie from the store and he doesn't seem to drink water like my last one used to what should I do it was the only male they had and I'm trying to find another male to pair with asap he had a cage mate there but sold before I could get them both and he seems depressed a little he eats just fine just the water and not as active which I'm sure he's lonely but it's the water that worried me he eats lots of greens fruits and of course hay What to fo
The vet says that he's probably getting enough water from the veggies and I took it upon myself to syringe feed them some water a little bit everyday. They don't like it but I not also put a syringe full of water on the lettuce when I give it to in the bowl and they eat it like normal so he said they're healthy. They're just really really scared of you and they won't drink water out of a water bottle and that's not the first pig from that store that will. My friend got one the same day that I did and it would not. It won't make out of water bottle. He says it's because that he used to put vitamins in it but vitamins are. You don't need to give your piggy vitamins. If you're feeding it in the right proper variety of food they will get all the vitamins they need. So I'm not putting vitamins in my big water and the vet said the same thing
