Greetings to all from Clones Town
I hope this video brings back nice memories for everyone. In the 1990's Paddy Brady undertook a project to take photographs of the local businesses and their proprietors. What we have here is a unique record of that time with a few other photos thrown in for good measure. And there's a tiny bit of cine film taken by my Dad in 1964.
MY THANKS GOES TO:
Once again I am very grateful to Paddy Brady for supplying me with copies of his original photographs
Thanks to Danny McAdam for giving me some photos from his own archives.
Thanks to Clones Notice Boards for continuing to provide an absolutely fantastic resource for the people of Clones and for those far away from home.
Lastly but not least, l would like to thank my good friend Emer Fox for kindly agreeing to record this version of ''Those were the Days.' She has done a brilliant job. Emer is a singer/songwriter and you can see some of her videos on emerfox.wix.com/singersongwriter

My God Enda the music ,videos and photos are Fab!
I grew up on Cara Street. My daughter was very excited to see her GG (great-granda - Eamonn Monahan) at 1:55. :)
I've lived in Athlone for over ten years now but the memories are coming back so clear -- and it's nice to see into some of the shops I never went into before they closed.
