Can you upload the “No way to stop it” number. That whole scene is probably my favorite in the entire movie. The acting was on point and it was the one song that I feel should have never been cut from the Original movie. It was so powerful and the acting in that number especially on Moyer’s end was on point.
The original is a classic which something we hold dear to our heart, I however as a creator myself, I appreciate that our fellow souls had an opportunity to recreate magic.

@@kitclark4089 I don't think the actress necessarily got it wrong just cause in every other time this cast has sung this song (like at 54 Below concerts and such) the line is the same as it is here. Maybe for some reason they just decided to change it?
Just based on the fact that at all the other times they've performed this song, the line is the same, I can only assume that they intentionally changed it for whatever reason.

Again a lot of people waited - including me - and there was no show. To make it more ridiculous, they just change the date in the same event on FB every week for the next Friday. So yeaterday there had to be a show, too as they changed the date for 4th Sept. Nothing. No words of explanation or apology. What do they expect us to do creating a FB event and making people believe and wait for each Friday evening? Isn't that simply rude?

Something that's always bothered me about this song's accuracy...wasn't the drinking age in Europe during this time at least 16? Captain von Trapp always acts like she's committing a crime if she drinks champagne.
Because this is WWII Era. I’m pretty sure the drinking age did not change to 16 until 2005.
Drinking age? It was cultural thing, the law maybe to buy but to have a drink at a meal was completely acceptable.

The 2013 Carrie Underwood version of The Sound of Music has an immediacy and an intimacy that the Julie Andrews film version lacks(sorry, J.A.). Carrie's vocal/dramatic characterization of Maria is convincing, and Steven Moyer plays Georg with great intensity and sings very well. Audra McDonald is superb as the Rev. Mother, and the seven Children are charming.

Couldn't disagree more with this. They sing it very well, not to mention this is a live performance unlike the movie.
I don’t think it was butchered beyond repair. I will admit nothing can ever top the og, however, this did not do a terrible job with a classic version. My biggest problem with live version is the lack of chemistry between Carrie Underwood and Stephen Moyer. I wasn’t feeling Audra MacDonald as The Reverend Mother. But honestly everything else is fine.

Although it does make sense to cast a singer to play a singing like Maria Von Trapp, but why go with Carrie Underwood? She's a country singer, not a broadway singer. They should have given the role to an up and coming actress/singer with a background in musical theatre.

The movie was not the original. The show was written as a STAGE production long before the movie was made. SOM Live is the stage version.
Two of the best songs in the show..duets sung by Laura Benanti and Christian Borle..were completely left out of the movie,!!!!!!!
I saw the movie and loved it and even own the soundtrack LP, but I love SoM Live even more and have the DVD.
Such a talented cast to do the whole show live. Angela Cartwright (who is my age) and was in the movie, said the movie took nearly a year to be put together!!!!!! Imagine all the re-takes there must have been. Also, some of the singing in the movie was dubbed by other singers. Everyone on the tv special did their own singing.
