One surprising thing that could use testing is how different ships eject laser drones. For example Pelican seems to leave them sort of stuck between the half-dome and the rest of the ship, with only the sightlines directly above and sides open. Stork on the other hand throws them up at least 1 km above the ship. Laser drones can theoretically (but tedious to eject) work as a ghetto beam turrets so you can hit them better with your actual non-beam turrets. Fighters also seem to prioritize them over the player ship.
The secret to having specialists is to have your ship bang up from time to time. By performing repairs, the crew gain XP. Even the repairs from the clip I think brought me a few specialists.
'Attack target' often means half your L turrets are silent, which is a big drop in dps. While L bolts do help against capitals if set to attack target, I find their projectile speed is too low to make them useful for much else. I prefer L Pulse on 'attack all' for general purpose since the projectiles are 2x as fast, still deal 80% of the damage, and have better range. That being said, 8x L Beams on attack all can be a good laugh, since it turns your Syn into some kind of angry disco ball. That many beams melt through S/M ships pretty quickly.
What I lose with "atack my target" setting for L turrets, I gain by manually focusing the P's, that are the only real threat to turrets and engines. With "atack all" they would just fire all over the place, w/o any prioritization of targets. I don't want my most powerfull AA turrets being focus on some xenon N, while 5 xenon Ps are parked above me, pew pew - ing away. L pulse is a good turret, but if un-modded, is "miss city", in my experience.
The main batteries have annihilator modds on them, but I did not did the reassemble trick, so the dmg increase was something like +32% +23% +11% dmg increase.
@@Stefmit10 When you add mode to an equipment (weapons, shields), you have the posibility of "reassemble" as in getting new effects, like you get 40% more shield, reassemble and get 50%, all the way to the max of, lets say, 70%.
I think any terran EQ or shipyard can hook you up with L/M terran bolt. You can also buy the BP from the faction representative, so you can reffit the ships at your own EQ/wharf/shipyard.

Hello i have a few questions if you would not mind, i am close ish to making destroyers are any destroyers aside from the asgard worth making aside for flavour purposes? or is the idea to just make some tokyo's with some fighters and asgard for stations? What would you say is best in slot for a terran loadout and a no faction restriction loadout for the terran destroyers and carrier?
In my game, the main purpose of the destroyers is to provide aditional dmg for station demolition. While the Asgard can demolish stations on its own just fine (actually, in the case of xenon SPP, shipyards and wharfs, I recommend using just the Asgard and order your destroyers to fly somewere), having destroyers pew pewing as well, accelerate the process. If you are gone use Tokyos in the composition of your station demolition fleet, make sure the carriers have the "docked" option selected for their fighters, when you are atacking the station, because if not, the fighters will chase the drones right under the turrets of the station, and die on mass when a module explode (been there done that). As for loudout for terran capitals, my favorite combo for L turrets is 50% beam in front and 50% bolt in the back, with bolt for M turrets, for terran tech. If using other races tech, the general rule is, best L turret = plasma, best M turret: flak.
@@ragnos28 Paranid best plasma? who has best flak? i was thinking of using tokyos more for fighters and putting them near gates and having the fighters equipped with torps so if a k pops up it gets dealt with?
@@Zeroczar Paranid plasma have the best range. I like all flak, from what I've heard, argon flak have more dmg and split more projectile speed. Yeah, this is why I never deploy laser towers (or even satelites) from the Raptor, the deployables just get stuck inside :(
Looking at Syn I would say that disign of RL balttleships was optimal in terms of turret placement.
I agree.
