It happened to me, and if you used PayPal, you’ll get your money back. You open a claim and send the certificate and it takes some time but they’ll get you your refund. Keep the bag until you get your refund in case they need more documentation or photos.

Omg, I‘m so sorry this happened to you. I recently had an instance where I sold a Chanel bag that I had bought on Vestiaire (and had it authenticated via Real Authentication right after it had arrived). The bag had a minor imperfection which my buyer was aware of. So when she brought it into her local Chanel boutique to have it sent to France for repair. And the Chanel SA told her he was pretty sure it was a fake🤯 I was so shocked and I can only imagine how humiliating the situation must have been for my lovely buyer. So I got in contact with Vestiaire, we sent the bag back to Vestiaire for another in-depth check and it again came back authentic. So she went back to the Chanel boutique to another SA and she sent it to Chanel France and they did the repair no questions asked. So at the end of the day, it all turned out alright but this whole situation made me so scared of buying expensive items preloved...
There are so many stories out there that make it more and more scary to buy preloved! I’m glad yours worked out well in the end, but it all makes me so much more cautious, there’s so much money involved 💕
You can still contact eBay and report it , if you paid through PayPal I would contact them also and report it , even though the seller is gone , they should still be able to see the transaction and the fact that the listing is removed they may just help you , I think it’s worth a shot , especially because you have proof it’s not authentic . Say unusual circumstances and due to the pandemic you were not able to have it authenticated right away . I would give it a shot girl ! I’m so sorry this happened to you .

Sorry for your experienced. I have bought two years a LV handbag at the Real Real website. After couple of months using the bag one of the hardware broke and took it to LV boutique for repair. After 3weeks I received a call saying that they can not fix the bag and they clearly stated to me the reason. It’s non authentic! I immediately contacted the Real Real and and ship back the bag to them and I’m glad I got my money back. Lesson learned, since then no matter how expensive that bag that I liked I never, never buy from pre loved. Authenticator also failed.

Before purchasing my Givenchy antigona in mid November ( which was stolen in December) i had been searching on the preloved market for a year but was too scared to buy just in case. I’m sorry this happened to you. Many people have mentioned donating the bag, but there’s always the danger of it ending up back in the marketplace by someone who assumes it is authentic. It is, however, gorgeous on it’s own. I don’t know why counterfeiters don’t just leave the branding off and sell as an “inspired by” ?

I never pay attention to reviews because I see people going crazy over fake bags all the time on RUclips and I think to myself if they don’t know what the real one looks and feel like why would I take their opinion I buy my bags at the store so later on down if there’s a problem I bring it right back. Last year I had a YSL card holder I purchased from Nordstrom that just seemed defective and this was purchased from 2018 so I brought it to the store in 2022 they inspected it and said it’s real but it’s definitely defective since I’ve used it maybe five times because when you own a lot you don’t use them as much and they took it back. I’m over buying luxury bags now because they’re getting out of control with the prices.
Hi, if you still have that bag, try putting through a case with EBay. Did the listing state authentic, did the receipt state it was from a Gucci Store and provide authentication email. It doesn’t matter if it says not returnable. I sold a vintage Chanel Tote (stated not returnable in listing). I also had listed on Mercari and they authenticated it. Buyer was looking for brand new look. Note: it was listed as vintage. She wore the bag for weeks (could smell cologne) and kept gift I sent with purchase. EBay always sides with buyer; she returned bag before we could hash out difference and EBay hit my account and paid buyer.
That’s an awful experience, especially when you stated vintage and you know she wore it. I think if I hadn’t left it so long, eBay would def have dealt with it as everything stated it was supposed to be authenticate 💕

What a major bummer! I’d try what some others have suggested about double checking the authentication. If indeed fake, I’d open a case with PayPal trying to recoup some if not all your money on this garbage. Your story is exactly why I am too scared to buy a bag from EBay. I’ve purchased many from FASHIONPHILE and Rebag, but don’t know if those are available to you. Gotta a good chuckle from your rant about the fake bag being in the “temple”. Lol. I’m selling a Dior Lady in Grey, medium size on eBay. I sold on eBay many years ago but I don’t know my account info so I just had to create a whole new account. Thus, I have no seller history with this new account, of course. I sure hope someone buys the bag even without my selling history. The bag is in perfect condition and it’s authentic, I swear! 😄
This may make it more difficult, it might be worth getting an authentication certificate to sell with it just to give added reassurance, or consider one of the IG ( reputable) consigners, some the commission isn’t that much more 💕

I only got to know that the bag was fake when I shared it online and someone who worked in Dior previously dropped a comment saying it was fake. I had it authenticated and it turned out she was right. I bought it 18 months before knowing it was fake so I couldn't return it. I can no longer use it as I don't wear fakes either. I am just not comfortable doing that. I shared it on my channel too

This happened to me but on VC rather than eBay, I almost fainted, I tried to sell my Gucci Dionysus that i'd purchased from VC to Designer exchange and they came back to me saying 'it doesn't match their standards' or some other such polite words to say fake. I ended up getting my money back from Vestiaire but I was like omggg that bag has been sitting with all my other bags and I've been walking around with a fake! I may have even gone into Gucci with it ! eBay also scares me, my friend bought LV star trail boots that turned out to be fake :(

I've been through this! My credit card company stepped in marvelously. Scared the skin off of that snake. Had the seller charged me 1 penny more I could have taken them to claims court. They had the nerve to demand I ship it back. I told them I would not ship counterfeit products. The audacity! Cut it up and put it in the trash.

If you paid paypal invoice you have up to 6 months to file a claim.

Lesson learned, since then no matter how expensive that bag that I liked I never, never buy from pre loved. Authenticator also failed.

Ah I cant believe it. I am so so sorry that happened to you! Before purchasing my Givenchy antigona in mid November ( which was stolen in December) i had been searching on the preloved market for a year but was too scared to buy just in case. I’m sorry this happened to you. Many people have mentioned donating the bag, but there’s always the danger of it ending up back in the marketplace by someone who assumes it is authentic. It is, however, gorgeous on it’s own. I don’t know why counterfeiters don’t just leave the branding off and sell as an “inspired by” ?

I never pay attention to reviews because I see people going crazy over fake bags all the time on RUclips and I think to myself if they don’t know what the real one looks and feel like why would I take their opinion I buy my bags at the store so later on down if there’s a problem I bring it right back. Last year I had a YSL card holder I purchased from Nordstrom that just seemed defective and this was purchased from 2018 so I brought it to the store in 2022 they inspected it and said it’s real but it’s definitely defective since I’ve used it maybe five times because when you own a lot you don’t use them as much and they took it back. I’m over buying luxury bags now because they’re getting out of control with the prices.
Hi, if you still have that bag, try putting through a case with EBay. Did the listing state authentic, did the receipt state it was from a Gucci Store and provide authentication email. It doesn’t matter if it says not returnable. I sold a vintage Chanel Tote (stated not returnable in listing). I also had listed on Mercari and they authenticated it. Buyer was looking for brand new look. Note: it was listed as vintage. She wore the bag for weeks (could smell cologne) and kept gift I sent with purchase. EBay always sides with buyer; she returned bag before we could hash out difference and EBay hit my account and paid buyer.
That’s an awful experience, especially when you stated vintage and you know she wore it. I think if I hadn’t left it so long, eBay would def have dealt with it as everything stated it was supposed to be authenticate 💕

What a major bummer! I’d try what some others have suggested about double checking the authentication. If indeed fake, I’d open a case with PayPal trying to recoup some if not all your money on this garbage. Your story is exactly why I am too scared to buy a bag from EBay. I’ve purchased many from FASHIONPHILE and Rebag, but don’t know if those are available to you. Gotta a good chuckle from your rant about the fake bag being in the “temple”. Lol. I have been crushing on that shade of purple in a Gucci bag since I first saw it. But of course in a real Gucci. Good luck on getting this resolved.

I’m selling a Dior Lady in Grey, medium size on eBay. I sold on eBay many years ago but I don’t know my account info so I just had to create a whole new account. Thus, I have no seller history with this new account, of course. I sure hope someone buys the bag even without my selling history. The bag is in perfect condition and it’s authentic, I swear! 😄
This may make it more difficult, it might be worth getting an authentication certificate to sell with it just to give added reassurance, or consider one of the IG ( reputable) consigners, some the commission isn’t that much more 💕

I only got to know that the bag was fake when I shared it online and someone who worked in Dior previously dropped a comment saying it was fake. I had it authenticated and it turned out she was right. I bought it 18 months before knowing it was fake so I couldn't return it. I can no longer use it as I don't wear fakes either. I am just not comfortable doing that. I shared it on my channel too

I have this bag which I purchased from Gucci. It’s the colour Rubin. The genuine item is so vibrant. When I saw this initially on your channel, I knew instantly it was fake, the colour is dull and the bag looks matted. I’m sorry you had this bad experience 🤭

Honey you are human, give yourself a break before you blow a gasket. “Caveat Emptor”, latin for “buyer beware” is a phrase to keep in mind. If your “batting” average is 99% correct, then you’re doing an awesome job in bag purchases. Your “gut instinct” was spot on. Pity you couldn’t of shown us “how to spot a fake” & tips to look for. Omg the most awful feeling! This happened to me but on VC rather than eBay, I almost fainted, I tried to sell my Gucci Dionysus that i'd purchased from VC to Designer exchange and they came back to me saying 'it doesn't match their standards' or some other such polite words to say fake. I ended up getting my money back from Vestiaire but I was like omggg that bag has been sitting with all my other bags and I've been walking around with a fake! I may have even gone into Gucci with it ! eBay also scares me, my friend bought LV star trail boots that turned out to be fake :(

I've been through this! My credit card company stepped in marvelously. Scared the skin off of that snake. Had the seller charged me 1 penny more I could have taken them to claims court. They had the nerve to demand I ship it back. I told them I would not ship counterfeit products. The audacity! Cut it up and put it in the trash.
