As an owner of a 750 I am puzzled by the circuit board/connector removals, but more so by the tip of the built in whip antenna. My stock telescoping whip is straight all the way and has a button of sorts on the antenna's tip, where your whip appears to have a coil on its end. I assume that was an addition made by a previous owner. Can you shed any light on just what that is?
don’t forget that wrmi on 9395 has a dx jukebox style half hr show on at various times of the week,with propagation the way it is,they have a messed up sked.. this show is for listeners ro report hearings and also stories on shortwave stations on or off the air.. if your too young to know the show dx jukebox that was on in the 60 s to 80s or so on i think hcjb or radio nertherlands then this is good to take in.. they have a website with the skeds on it.and a bunch of other data.. ohhh on that grundig,they are just like other rigs now,plastic and small circuit biards,i was used to their old gear..

I was thinking the same thing, i bet it is from a old portable CB radio.
My 750 does not work from the electric outlet but does on battery. ?

simple question. The signal meter does not register anything. Is that something I should investigate or is it worth it? Thank you
Faulty meter or stuck perhaps?
The one I have has no volume at all, whatever the band or frequency. No noise, nothing even with the Volume knob maxed. Any idea? Thank you.

you see 8ohms with the wires disconnected from it? Next i would check the audio amplifier and the voltage feed to it.
