You can easily and convincingly relight footage like that in software nowadays. Nuke has proper tools for that. That...or you hire some poor roto-slave to do all interactive lighting manually.
@@houstonhelicoptertours1006 it will never look as good as real light. Practical plus VFX will always look better than just VFX or just practical effects. Yes you can make it look real, but you will never make it look as real as reality, at least not with the software available these days
every company like EMbergen needs to put out a huge detailed library of FREE tutorials non stop. When people know how to use it, everyone will buy it. simple
Hey, I agree but tutorials are a lot of work. At least for me. I have a few on the jangaFx channel. Also the software is rapidly changing and I'm still figuring out workflows myself. So tutorials will get outdated easily now. I did write the documentation on docs.jangafx.com that's pretty detailed. But will also need updating when 1.0 comes out. For any specific technical question feel free to reach out of course. Tutorials will come, but give it some time. Cheers.
@@danielvanderkaaden8502 thanks for replying. Although I was referring to the entire company should have large volumes of tutorials. Or do you own the company?
Really good. Great breakdown, very good compositing skills with all the Details Like shadows etc. I think sound Plays a big role and actually the sound of the fireballs should have been more oriented at real Sounds of people that spit out fireballs with their mouth
Boo! Where's the source of the fire like torches or whatever? It's so unfaithful to the original that is not an adaptation movie called The Last Airbender by the great M. Night Shayamaliman. /joke I'm vomiting just saying that. Awesome work.
Hey, Daniël van der Kaaden, can you teach us how to use Embergen?! I bought the software, but I am definitely struggling with how do dial in specific details!

That is the best looking live representation of fire bending (or even just general fire magic) I've seen yet. My only nit-pick is that there shouldn't be as many (if any) embers as there is no logical physical source for them if the fire is 'summoned'. Same could technically be said for the smoke, but for artistic purposes it works without feeling as odd.
Hey thanks, If I'll ever have to do fire bending again I'll leave the embers and smoke as it's not in the anime either except for when it burns something. Or at least keep it more suddle. You mentioned physics and logic, not sure how that would apply xD ,but always fun to think about that kind of stuff.
Very good! I would just suggest a second camera shooting infrared with a IR light spotting the fire emission, so that you can sync in pos to add one “real light” source bouncing on things.
Very cool! I noticed the real one sprays out some fuel before it lights on fire. That might be some feedback you can use to make it even better. Corridor Digital made a video about explosions where they talked about this in particular
When fire bending, gas does not exist. In "Avatar: The last Airbender" they did not exactly explain in full details how they created fire, but using gas or fuel was not their way of creating one.
looks good.
I suddenly remember our discussion about this video so I looked it up. Very impressive how closely it matches the original reference.
Hey thanks!
Pleasure meeting you at bcon :)
Neat, looks super realistic! Fooled me!
if you added a practical light that flashed on and off on the actor it would have looked 100% photo real. awesome!

@@TenToAceStudios you can always just render an emissions pass
it would look good with renderd light too, im just saying doing some practically as well will just add that little bit of realism to ground the effect

Hi what software do you use for editing fx?
Embergen
You can do the same in Blender
Mantra Flow is slower and less advanced than Embergen.
can you make a tutorial on the compositing part?
