Ha ha ha, King Candy definitely deserves a spot on the Villainous roster. He has more than earned it with the insidious lengths he went to to stay relevant, sabotaging not just his "birth game" but the game he stole away into, altering the memories and social landscape of Sugar Rush to preserve his own fading fame and power. Being someone well-versed in copyright infringement, and against game-breaking glitches outside of speed-runs, my body still clenches with fury at the sight of that Alan Tyduk voiced guy. Great idea with having his gameplay be based around racing rather than moving from location to location to take actions, I think it's my favorite detail. As for future villain deck ideas... I keep being surprised that in all of the expansions, no one has made a game piece or theoretical fate/allies deck for Judge Claude Frollo, one of the scariest Disney villains of all time. Ernesto de la Cruz and Chef Skinner would make great additions to the Pixar villains roster as well. Goals for each of them: Frollo would capture the Court of Miracles (far right location), achieved with three soldier cards being active and the game piece there at start of his turn. Skinner would want to vanquish Linguini and Remy, or else prevent Linguini's heritage being revealed by discarding Renata's Letter. Ernesto de la Cruz wants to continue (after)living off of his stolen fame, so he has to vanquish Héctor before the Broadcast Camera, Miguel, and Imelda cards are played, a combo known as Sunrise Spectacular.
I think because making these is a lot of work. And they want to spread out what we get because we're running out of villains! (Lindsey Ellis has a great RUclips essay on Disney villains going extinct.) And in packs of two they're a bit cheaper while still having enough value, unlike the single packs.
Also, there are now three games that they have to put out content for. I’m personally okay with it, also because I play with people who don’t play often, this makes it easier for me to try or retry all of the characters that are in these games. Hopefully the next expansion after this Star Wars one is marvel 🤞
We are working hard to ensure we are designing great characters for Marvel, Star Wars and Disney Villainous! This is one of the ways where we can focus more on the individual Villains. Thank you for your comment!
2:12 per the guide, King Candy declares movement then does actions at his new location. Pay to Race should be played after movement, before actions, yes?
The Pay to Race card must be played before King Candy’s initial movement on his turn. So, King Candy may play and resolve this card as soon as his turn begins, then declare his initial movement and move for his turn.
Oh man. I was really not sold on any of the ravensburger expansions, but king candy looks like of of the most interesting and fun designed villains yet. Really looking forward to this expansion
Does King Candy win by passing the finish spot (landing on fate action past the start/finish spot first), or is it just the first character to get to the finish spot. In the video it looks like it’s just the first person to land on the finish spot, but the guide/board says it’s the first one to “pass” start/finish. I’m just curious since I landed exactly on the finish emblem (not “past” it) and am unsure if I won or not lol
Hmm, I'm not sure on Magnifico being an expansion for Villainous. I do think that Frollo, Bill Sykes, Edgar Balthazar, Magica DeSpell, Negaduck, Don Karnage, Fat Cat, Madame Medusa, Governor Radcliffe, Yokai/Callaghan, Hopper, the Sanderson sisters, Davy Jones, and Shan Yu deserve their moments in Villainous. And maybe, as a little surprise, Constance Hatchaway from The Haunted Mansion and Henry Ravenswood aka the Phantom from Phantom Manor to see how you'd portray those two evil ghosts and their stories.
@@RavensburgerGames You are quite welcome. I almost forgot; for the Sanderson Sisters they would have a group goal and one goal individually. As for Hopper, I think he'd have an automatic lose card, "Another one of your little bird tricks?" or something along those lines. I figured have Constance Hatchaway and Henry Ravenswood in the game as they're villains in the Haunted Mansion rides (Haunted Mansion in America for Constance, and Phantom Manor in France for Henry) and Davy Jones from Pirates of the Carribbean because of him being a more prominent villain after Barbossa. I can't wait to someday see the artwork for the villains in the game.
I vote Bill Sykes, Governor Radcliffe, Shan Yu. And Mordu and Tamatoa. Moana would lend itself to interesting board movements like King Candy here. We need every Disney Princess Villain.
Adding glitches speeds up the race when there is already a glitch. So you can combo off the 2 movement both you and Vanellope get in the race. When vanellope has no glitches nothing happens at that moment. But if a new one would be played it’ll restart the race.
I understand heroes block action spaces from being played, but can king candy still land on them? Does Venellope still land on them or skip covered action spaces?
Other than starting the big race, what benefit is there to adding glitch cards? It moves both forward two spaces which in certain situations might be beneficial if you need certain actions. But other than those specific conditions, its utterly useless and would move the racer token closer to the finish before you
If you are already in the lead you can get closer to the finish line faster. Most of the games fun is finding uses for cards! But its main use to start the race. Secondary would be to combo and end the race quicker.
we just played this expansion. My (shir kan) faith actions were blocked by fire. i honestly didnt care to unblock them so my opponent never got vanellope on her board. even of i gave her faith cards, cant i choose from to faith cards i draw? why would i pick vannelope of that helps my opponent win? There is no card for my opponent in her deck to find vanellope on her own. are we playing wrong?
King Candy, if not fated can play “Ralph’s Hero Medal” to bring Wreck-It-Ralph into the his realm. Once Wreck-It-Ralph is defeated it will bring Vanellope into play. Also if an opponent draws fate cards they must play one, so if one is unplayable and the other is Vanellope then they would have to play her into king candys realm. Hope this helps!
I want to start playing this game but i dont know want to buy. I would want to buy only expensions instead of the normal starting pack(the one with captain hook i think) because other pack have character more my liking. Is that possible ?
It absolutely is! They’re called “expandalones” technically because they’re expansions but you can totally get the packs with only three (now two I guess) characters. Just know marvel Star Wars and Disney villainous cannot be played together

If they want to do individual fine, but at the same cost as a an expansion with 3 villains? That’s what I have an issue with
Money
So the next expansion is King Candy and Shere Khan? Nice! I’m still hoping we get CLU, King Magnifico, and Bill Cipher.
Thank you for sharing!
Nah, not magnifico, give us an asha expansion
@@fleshdadbot6852agreed. Give us someone better than mister no rent. Like Doof or something
I'd like to see a Tron villain expansion myself, but I think it should be the M.C.P. instead.

Why is this so good!
Why thank you!
I really don't like King Candy but this looks really interesting!
Hopefully you enjoy playing King Candy! We are really proud of the way His movement works along the racetrack.

King Candy will win even if He just lands on the finish line spot :)

Excuse me, but...
If you'd be so kind as to make these videos for the previous villains? We'd all love it.
Thanks.
@Tolinar Thanks for letting us know this was helpful! Which previous Villains would you like to see first? -Lysa
@@RavensburgerGames Do you mind starting from the beginning? Ursula in particular is *tricky.*
Oh my god that so cool I do have a crush on him but softy kitty Mimi love him so much she can have him
If a card allows you to move, can you then preform the new available actions?
You only get the actions of you earned move (1-4 spaces) once per turn.
If Vanellope reveals Pay to Race would she move 2?
Correct!
What is the purpose of adding more glitches to vanellope? And if the only glitch is discarded off of her what happens?
I had the latter happen to me and we (my friends and I) didn’t really know what to do.
King Candy and Vanellope Von Schweetz (The Racer Token) both can land on blocked action spaces.
will you guys ever include claude frollo, ratcliffe or shan yu to the game?
Can’t say but I love these ideas!
Other than starting the big race, what benefit is there to adding glitch cards? It moves both forward two spaces which in certain situations might be beneficial if you need certain actions. Can i just get the Edgar expansion? And Chernabog, please
Does the race token also block king candy for doing that action? And can you land on a blocked action?
The Racer token does block King Candy from using the action it is on. King Candy is able to land on any blocked action space.
we just played this expansion. My (shir kan) faith actions were blocked by fire. i honestly didnt care to unblock them so my opponent never got vanellope on her board. even of i gave her faith cards, cant i choose from to faith cards i draw? why would i pick vannelope of that helps my opponent win? Wait. The win condition says pass the start/finish line, but the example just has him land on it. Which is it?
Landing on the finish line triggers the end of the race.

As Zach has said. Every Set that comes with more than a single Villain is completely playable out of the box.
Does the Racer token block actions?
Yes
That’s how we’ve been playing it, too, though it’s not specified.
The Racer token does indeed block action spaces.
Please show me all villan
