This is a remastered and rescaled version of my original video:

The original video included original Dragon Ball in addition to Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball Super. In the remastered version, nothing would have changed in original Dragon Ball section of the video, so I did not to include it. In the remastered version, I used the official power levels through the Frieza saga. Power levels for the remainder of the video had to be scaled up accordingly. I also incorporated some of your feedback, such as slowing the play speed a bit and added some power level speculation at the end.
Note that even after rescaling and adjusting all power levels upward significantly, the numbers will still be considered conservative by most standards. This is mainly because I did not use huge multipliers for calculating transformations. I don't believe Toriyama ever intended for transformations to be x10,000+ power ups. Rather, when a character achieves a new form (SSJ/SSG), the initial power up is very large, but afterward the character is able to retain a good portion of that power in their base form. For example, the first time Goku goes Super Saiyan he gets a x50 power boost (3 million to 150 million) but after that his base power level goes up significantly, on the order of a permanent x10 power boost. This means subsequent uses of the Super Saiyan form only need a x5 power multiplier to achieve the same x50 effect of the first transformation. I believe this is more in line with the reality of what we see in the show and it makes far more sense in terms of the numbers, because for gigantic multipliers to work either the saiyans base forms need to be too weak or the numbers on their top level transformations are ridiculously large. It also tends to trivialize previous villains which I don't think is accurate.

This version reduces the amount of bar movement quite a bit since power levels only increase. I also made it so that transformations occur in-place, so you don't have bars dropping off and new bars coming in for each new transformation.
goku's power levels went from barely moon level and below to multiverse level

Now I know why Piccolo never got a Super/Legendary Namekian powerup: He'd wipe the floor with everyone if it was on a similar level to Super Saiyan's multiplier. I still think he should get a God form though, he's been irrelevant for too long. It's time for either him or Gohan to kick someone's arse way harder than Goku or Vegeta could have again.

Thanks for the feedback. I wanted to show the story of battles which involves power levels going up and down, but that is a good idea to reduce confusion that I will keep in mind for the future.
DataDaft the next video you do on the power levels keep the power caps of each character and don’t make the transformations different characters make them just increase that current characters power cap
@@skiddybigman2636 Power caps would be simple enough--it would actually make things a lot easier--but the transformation thing is hard because the software I used does not allow for transforming a bar to have a different image or color on the fly. It would require either writing custom software or doing a ton of editing (i.e. shooting a different video for every single transform and editing them all together). But if I were to try to improve this even further I would have to do something like that. Perhaps a long-term project. =)

Yamcha kept getting more powerful, and that’s a testament to how good of a warrior he was, just wasn’t in fights that often. He’s important to Dragon Ball but not in the frontline.

The numbers could be debated for days but the graph is mostly represented correctly from what the anime at least plays out.
A lot wrong with the numbers and the graph imo, SSJ is a 50x base multiplier but it's shown to be 3 to 4 times max on here, SSJ3 is 4x SSJ2 but it's represented as 2x here, the fusions are said to be the powers of both users added together then multiplied tens of times yet the graph here shows them as being 4x the strongest user max, and most glaringly SSJ God is supposed to be a power level millions of times above SSJ3 which is where the graph goes completely to shit and stays that way till the end

@@jsmithers. you're thinking it the wrong way. So if ss1 is 50x base, and ss2 is 2x ss1 and ss3 is 4x ss2. Use numbers. Let's say base was 100. Then ss1 is 5000, ss2 is 10000 and ss3 is 40000. The gap between 10000 and 5000 is MUCH bigger than the gap between 5000 and 100. And the same with 40000 and 10000

Part of this is because power levels were introduced far too high and the villains and SSJ multipliers were totally insane. Raditz should have been introduced with a power level of around 10 and the series goes from there. Using that, we'd be in the hundreds of billions-trillions at this point, which is a far more quantifiable number than 'something with a lot of zeroes'. Who really knows just how strong they are now considering SSG is apparently a several million times multiplier and SSB is 50x more than that.
The one thing we can all agree on is that power-scaling has gone to total shit with Super. Apparently now some Saiyan teenagers have levels high enough to fight a literal god.

lol. I didn't know people even cared about this anymore sense it's nonsense now since the Freezer namek saga. It would of been nice if they would of not done this shit with Gods or SSGSS b.s. It ruined everything. Super Saiyan 1,2,3, was the route to go and it could've lasted around the time Super was in the middle of the tournament until they fought Jiren and went Blue both Vegeta and Crackrock. They should've merged and became Krackageats.

I love the concept of the video...but the way it's done is extremely disorienting and hard to track. Some suggestions: 1) Don't make a transformation act like an entirely new character where one drops down and another rises. Just have the picture change and let the bar stay in place where it is. 2) Don't have power levels go down when someone gets hurt. Just show their current max power. Just like the transformations, it makes everything WAY too spastic to keep track of. 3) When someone dies or otherwise would be completely removed from the ranking, just have them fade out and the one below take their place. Same reason as other suggestions: It will make it easier to keep track of.
The main problem is that there is just too much motion to keep track of and the whole video leaves you frustrated because the information is gone before you can fully process it. It's a really good idea though. I have always wondered how the power levels stacked up. Gonna give you a sub. Can't wait for an updated version of this video!

Hard to tell what the tournament of power levels compare to the gods. Ssg Goku was said to use 70-80% of beerus( can’t remember which number they used). Beerus was said to never have master ultra instinct. Also jiren was said to be a mortal stronger than the god of destruction in his universe. I haven’t gone deep into the manga yet but I believe they say Bellmod is the third strongest god of destruction. Mr. Popo is definitely correct though.

@@VarietySeth Granted I haven't read all of the manga, but it's never really stated whether Belmod is stronger than Beerus. It's implied that he was being sneaky so he could fight and beat a worn out Beerus, but that 1v1 Beerus is one of, if not the strongest GoD.
Jiren is stated to be stronger than his GoD. By how much is unknown. Jiren's strength relative to other GoDs is never clarified.
GoD Toppo was the weakest of the GoDs, as he was still in training.
MUI Goku is stronger than Jiren, and by extension Belmod. He is also probably stronger than some of the GoDs, possibly including Beerus, since Beerus never mastered Ultra Instinct.
It's also implied that Beerus' dream of a 'Super Saiyan God' was actually Beerus dreaming about Ultra Instinct Goku. It doesn't make much sense when they make this implication, but based off Beerus' excited and proud reaction, it seems a safe bet. Whis is also proud.
Surprised you didn't add Broly to the list, but I'm in the camp that Broly was not quite as strong as Jiren's full power. Gogeta Blue may or may not be stronger than Jiren though, because he dominates Broly as soon as he starts fighting serious in those last two minutes. Broly does no damage to him.
@@VarietySeth I thought it was Quitela whom Beerus lost an arm wrestling contest too? They were the last two 'standing' when Grand Priest called off the battle, with Belmod faking his injuries.
Quitela mentions this in Super also and stands up to Beerus, though personally I think Beerus is still stronger overall. Quitela is a trickster and there's reason enough to believe that his arm wrestling victory might not be wholly honest. And even then, that's just arm-wrestling, not ki attacks or speed or martial arts skill.
But Belmod being an upper tier GoD is fair. =)

I feel like Jiren only being less than 3x stronger than Buu Saga SSJ3 Goku is a huge underestimate. In reality at this point everyone should be hundreds of times stronger than Buu Saga SSJ Vegito.
One thing I will give this power scale however is Beerus being placed considerably above MUI Goku. Now that the GoD title has been severely depreciated, everyone underestimates Beerus' full potential. We've never seen him use his full power and for good reason.
Although, Vados being stronger than Whis is an error. Vados did train Whis but Whis is indeed stronger. Either way, both are orders of magnitude above the GoD.

After whis said that, Beerus said that it was a simple arm wrestling match that beerus lost. Arm wrestling obviously doesn’t indicate how strong you are with fighting, especially in anime.
I love how the stats showing up that piccolo had a incredible high base power. Imagine him to fuse with more nameks or get even a another transformation form
The problem with this scaling is that it's so far off, for example, in DBS episode 18 (in the video), goku is at a power level of 1.3 billion, SSJ is a multiplier of 50, which would make his power level 65 billion, AKA stronger than Hit, Toppo, a non-powered up Jiren, goku black at his peak, merged zamasu. That's just base SSJ, SSJ2 would be 130 billion, or the same as jiren at max power, and his SSJ3 form would be stronger than his mastered ultra instinct, sitting in the 520 Billion range aka stronger than champa.

Think the issue with the last one wasn't so much the speed, just that when an entry is added or removed from view, it enters or leaves from the bottom of the screen with everything else reshuffling to a new position. Transformations from one character to another (e.g. 1:02) are particularly egregious because two people have to move across the screen suddenly while the top of the list repositions. It'd be more elegant if things could be inserted or removed from the side instead, and transforming characters just have their images updated without needing whole new entries. Not sure how customizable the software behind this is though.

Thanks for the feedback. The software does not allow for changing the bar behavior like that unfortunately. Ideally I would not have the bars leave the plot at all for transformations--the bars and images themselves would transform in place--but in the software each row in the data is associated with one bar and one image in the plot so you can't change things on the fly like that. I am looking into writing custom plotting functions with Javascript/d3.js to allow for more flexibility, but given that I am still a novice with JavaScript I wouldn't expect to be able to do something like that for a while.
Wow. Kinda shows that the saiyan characters heavily relied on transformations to counter most enemy bases. Neat
I love this! Things I noticed:
During the Cell saga, it becomes obvious that Gohan has the most latent power. As the power levels steadily increase, his increases faster than anybodys. This holds true through most of DBS as well.
Piccolo tends to be the strongest in base form... by quite a long shot... for a long time. If Piccolo had a transformation similar to SSJ, he'd be the world's greatest warrior.
Near the end of the Buu saga, Vegeta as SSJ has a power level of 280M. However, when he "powers down", he retains all that power even in his base form.
Gohan, even when not actively training, remains at least the 5th strongest fighter on Earth for most of the timeline. (I'm not including Majin Buu because he never actually fights for Earth)
It's not until after Resurrection F that Goku and Vegeta are officially the strongest warriors on the planet in their base forms.
My guess is true god-level power begins at 50B, since at 90B Toppo has God-of-Destruction-level power, and Hit has a max power level of 48B. All the fighters who out-powered Hit could be considered at or near god-level power (in my opinion).
Thanks for this vid! It's been a long time since I put some serious thought into every character's power levels. Plus I'm glad this remaster happened, because you had Yamcha stronger than Krillin for a while on the last video, and it made no sense to me lol

There are a lotta weird things going on with the power levels going down especially in the DBZ times. Having something like a temporary boost extended from the bar itself on the graph to show that it's a boost and not the base going up would probably clear some confusion. I only figured the trick out because I know almost the entire multi series by heart but I guarantee 90% of people are missing the fact that those extended powers are from boosts specifically.

There's so much in the series to keep track of. This is a very impressive video all things considered. Nobody's going to agree on power levels..... like, EVER... but this did a solid job and was entertaining (I agree with the consensus that two second per episode is a better pace.)
If I were to call anything out, it seems weird that Krillin is stronger than (base) Goten for most of the series. Other than that, seems logical with the way things play out in the show.

The power levels are extremely low balled, even during Cell Saga. Even at Cell Saga they should reach trillion at least, and in Buu Saga the power levels being below that is just expremely wrong. Then in DBS your power levels pretty much doesn't increase, and the forms multiplier are too much low balled. The mechanic of the video is good, but the numbers are extremely low balled.

This was really cool. For a future video, it might help to leave some of the more frequent characters in the top few slots and see how their power level is growing over time. It became a little difficult to gauge what was happening when some characters popped up in first place for a second and then disappeared.

How his Mui goku weaker than beerus.he doesn’t even have it. In manga he has omen and in the anime he doesn’t have it at all 🤷🏾
In manga it is stated beerus is still training to master it, but in situation like this prob he would go mui as well, caus goku as well cant go in ui state

but Jiren is stronger than a God Of Destruction. I have seen dozens of promotional material basically saying, "Jiren slaps Gods".
So i'd say that beerus is about 128 billion, and champa is about 125 billion. I'd also say that the angels should be about 800 billion. The grand preist should be about 2.5 trillion. Zeno should be about 10-15 trillion. Oh and also blue vegeta you said was about 67 billion and blue evolution vegeta was about 100 billion. So about a 1.5x increase. And goku could use up to kaioken x 20. So if vegito used both at the same time he would be at about 3.6 trillion, which is stronger than whis and vados combined. And he would be stronger than the grand priest in my scale and also about 1/3 - 1/5 of Zeno. But sadly the fusion would probably last about 30 seconds if they tried to use both blue evolution and kaioken x 20 at the same time. I mean 30 seconds of being stronger than the grand priest aint too bad!

Although Arale could qualify as ridiculously powerful, she is technically a character from an earlier intense gag manga who has shown infamous moments like punching with enough force to crack the planet, if she had the chance, she could headbutt that attempted Hakai back to Beerus. We'll never really know, because he had indigestion before he could launch it at her.

Yeah, I remember the fan concessus in the early 2000s, i.e. Goku being 300,000 to x50 SSJ as 15,000,000, to kid Buu being 500,000,000, etc. This assumed that SS Goku being 150,000,000 in the official guide was a typo. Don' remember why we all thought that.

During the Cell Games Piccolo was stronger than 16 it was noted by both Trunks and Goku that he became considerably more powerful after his time chamber training. He was also the only non-saiyan to put up any real resistance to the Cell juniors.

Some parts Not very accurate
Jiren is stated to equal or superior to a god of destruction, it means he can fight and beat Beerus.
this is pretty inaccurate. it doesnt consider the times 50 boost of ssj. for example: at episode 230, gokus powerlevel as ssj2 (times two boost) schould be at 26.600.000.000. if the base powerlevel was 266.000 as shown before. so 266.000 *50*2=26600000000. so the software got the wrong data for the multipliers.

I don't know how it works for "DBS garbage" but for DBZ you've done a great job. Espacially with Buu Saga where Mystic Gohan is stronger than SSJ3 Goku and Buuhan is stronger than Kid Buu. Some people still don't believe that this is right :P

Other than the gods I’m gonna have to say the strongest 3 are
1.mui goku
2.jiren (full power)
3.vegito blue
I ordered this list because I don’t think vegito is stronger than jiren and jiren got badly beat by mui goku and ultra instinct is a level even gods have trouble reaching so I don’t think vegito can reach that level considering Vegeta is in there with goku so jiren could nearly beat incomplete ultra instinct btw I also think kefla is stronger than Vegeta and toppo so I don’t know why she’s all the way down there
