historically, Le Requin was a 18th century French Xebec. The xebec itself was an Algerian design and creation evolved from the Galley. The Algerians added three masts with lateen sails well suitable for Mediterranean Corso warfare, also known as privateering. many nations, especially Mediterranean ones adopted the xebec design to their navies. thanks for the video.
Great video, I love seeing a carronade Le Req in action! At 7:00 you had a good opportunity for a stern rake, since his back armor was already low im surprised you didn't take it (and subsequently stayed out of his broadsides). In any event, I hope you do more videos in the Le Requin!
I hope you had a relaxing vacation, and is it just me or these AI ships seems very very very accurate with their fire even when you are far away and presenting the smallest target as possible.
Have a question. I know time is accelerated in open world, but is it accelerated in battle mode as well? I know there is accelerated day/night shift (for some reason, I'm not really fan of that) but the ships really seem to sail faster than 10-15 kn
The frigate is an ocean dwelling ship, the xebec probably never left the Mediterranean in its brief history of use. Yes it's a good ship, but it mostly relies on rowing and requieres alot of manpower. Usually berbers and ottomans kettled european vessels with 10 or 12 of these.
Another quick question, what "key" do you press to get the in game battle screen showing both sides status? Cannot find it and everyone uses it. Cheers.

Wonderful historical info. Thank you for it

I love the sound of rain and thunder in the background... If your ingame battle would have been in rainy weather, you would have nailed it 😋👍

Yea I've noticed that too. New player here. And then when we have AI in our fleet they do nothing but miss. Lol
such a scary looking ship
Could you do a review of Rättvisan and or perhaps a video about the dlc's? Especially about dlc ships in general.
+Theo There is already a video on Rättvisan. Check my Naval Action playlist
Reading master and commander as i watch this, thought this was a reference to it to be honest haha
The Thunder of Cannon!
Missing your Naval Action videos 🙁. Wanted to ask you if you think double powder / double shot is worth it? Cheers 🍺

Little accelerated in battles not as much as OW
Its an addad bonus if its rainy in the game but it wasn't annoying
Just lost my Requin to a frigate today, on a 5th rate mission. should have watched this as the mission brief
