Hello good sir, I`ve been following you since you posted RDR2. Thank you for sharing Naval Action! I`ve installed the game last week, and it is complex and awesome in the same time. In this game I will take the Traders path, and this video is helping a lot. Now I have a first ship, A basic Brig. Dropping passenger from 1 port to another, and I still cannot take the cargo delivery. Is it better for me to upgrade the Brig? Or saving money to get a better trading ship. I'm still aiming the Indiaman or... The Le Gros Vente?
Thanks! I'm happy to hear this video was of use to you. Though I'm sorry if some of the information is out of date. As for trading ships, I recommend you aim to use the Trader's Brig if you're planning on becoming a crafter, as they can carry lots of supplies. However, if you're mostly interested in trading rare goods like tobacco and pearls, I would invest in fast Trader's Lynx. In the long run, go for the Indiaman over the Le Gros Ventre.
I’ve only just started this game recently, and feel like a bunch of these setups aren’t possible anymore.. for instance even though the traders brig tells me I can have 12-18p carronades, but it definitely won’t allow me to mount them into the ship or 6p cannons for that matter. I can place two on the stern but that’s it… I’d love it if u made a more updated list
I will probably cover a lot of this in my "finding your sea legs" series. I don't have plans at the moment to update this video, but maybe in the future
Thanks, I'm glad you're enjoying the series thus far. Regarding those specs I'm not really the person to ask, but it should be okay. I'm using an old gtx 1060 and it runs fine; lags if I turn antialiasing on though.
I'm hoping to do more tutorials in future, and cannons will probably be one of them. Rook S has already done a really excellent video on guns, you should definitely check it out. ruclips.net/video/aOR02JKEQ9k/видео.html
You will need at least a Trader snow to fit one cargo mission in your hold, a trader brig will be able to carry two. But don't worry about lgvs or indiamen, the smaller ships I mentioned will do
@@kairos468 thanks! I was just trying it and no the trader I put in my fleet just ran off in the other direction ;-; thanks for your videos they're really helpful. I've only just started the game and am enjoying it a lot
The speeds and crew sizes especially would have changed since I made this video, but it should still give you a good general idea of what each ship can do.
You certainly can have a fleet of cargo ships. Just remember that if you have the hold optimization perk it will only increase cargo space on the main ship in your fleet.
Painting your ships is a DLC only feature. Look up Norseman_53's "Naval Action painter" series here on RUclips if you'd like to see what skins are available for different ships.
I know this is from several months ago so the game probably changes, but I laugh when you say 14kns, while im playing with my basic cutter doing 28kns with no boost.... Just got a 61% boost.. im now doing 58kns lol. Just passing by peeps like "hi" "Bye"
I love the black sails reference, I’m rewatching for the second time right now
This was the overall ship explanation i needed. I dont know jack about sailing ships.
Everythings been trial and error for the last 3 days 😅
Glad I could help you get started.
The best tutorial ever. Thank u.
You're welcome. Glad I could help out

I favour the trader brig too for that reason. Having enough space for two cargo missions is handy.
Thank you so much for the Trader focus!
You're welcome. The video is a bit outdated now, but I hope it was still helpful to you.
Great little vid😃🍻 Shared!

Hi! Game is great, I enjoy your videos.
By the way it is okay for NA to run at 40-60 fps on ultra setting? I’ve got rtx 3070

Could you please make a Canon episode? I don't understand what the difference is between a congrve or a long gun carinade and the other guns

what is that green stuff on the damage control panel for in traders brig?

How up to date is this? I see some values have cosmic values, like min crew 40 instead of 200 or HP 7k instead of 1k
Values will have changed a lot, so this video isn't really up to date. But it's still okay as a general guide to the traders
The last coffin nail needs to be put into this game.
wut
Why?
Do trader ships fight in fleets (AI)?
They don't turn up in fleets I'm pretty sure, but AI traders can be found on their own in the open world.

@@kapiteingrasparkiet7574 You're welcome, and good luck with the game. And yes, trade ships in your own fleet will always just run by default.
is this still accurate? if so, is it anything major? Great vid.

You certainly can have a fleet of cargo ships. Just remember that if you have the hold optimization perk it will only increase cargo space on the main ship in your fleet.
Maybe be bcs the update, but my traded snow has 180+/- of crew
Yeah, I think they changed all the trade ship crew sizes.
@@kairos468 ok thx, I thought it was bcs crafted ships were different or smthng
Hi have they got rid of the traders lynx in the game
Thanks for the heads up, I had no idea.
One question, how can you color these ships?
Painting your ships is a DLC only feature. Look up Norseman_53's "Naval Action painter" series here on RUclips if you'd like to see what skins are available for different ships.

Hi what's the best way too level up these tutorials are a nightmare dont think I'll do them all
Probably sinking AI ships; that's where most of my exp came from at any rate.
@KairoS Thankyou for reply, will try that
Guys does boarding requires perks
You can board without perks, but you'll be at a disadvantage. You should also have marines and other boarding books equipped.
@@kairos468 So it’s more of a rock paper scissor contest when you swing those grapples at the enemy broadside?
