Avery's Anesthesist reminds me of my Orthopedic Surgeon, Dr. Armstrong who I was LUCKY enough to be "matched" or referred to by an Intern after my original Surgeon moved. The Intern said "All of his Patients LOVE Him and the Parents admire him." First day I met him, he actually spoke to Me, asked Me questions. Amazing Surgeon and amazing GENTLE man and funny too. Tried to see him when I saw the new Hospital in 1994, wanted to thank him, but he had moved. I was bummed out. Due to him, my Heart Surgeon and Cardiologist, HSC still holds a special place in my Heart nearly 50 years later.
@@RebeccaAbrahansson and your point.... It don't matter when it happened. We don't what happened with the baby. So me praying for them have nothing to do with her age. So stfu
He reminds me of my scoliosis doctor! I started going to him when I was 9. I’m now 47, and if I need anything, I can call him and he’s there for me still! Had it not been for him finding the best Parkinson’s doctor for my mom, she would have died much sooner! Dr. John Herring is my hero!
These are so good to watch its so satisfying to see a child get better its heartbreaking to see a child suffering please Dear lord touch all the sweet children of the world
My dad developed Retinoblastoma, in his right eye, but as an adult, which is extremely rare! He was treated with a radioactive plaque. He was diagnosed the last week of 1993. Surgery to implant the radioactive plaque was done on January 7th 1994. He’s been in remission ever since!
Hi, she actually just passed away last fall in September. I read an article about her in the Edmonton Journal a few years back. She was an ambassador of the Stollery Children's Hospital. The heart received in this program ultimately failed when she was 4 or 5.. the article is from 2013 when she was 14. I'm not totally sure what happened last fall, you would gather more heart and lung problems... here's a link if you want to read the article. www.pressreader.com/canada/edmonton-journal/20130712/282445641654661

I hope Joselyn's parents are grateful for their babys new heart. Joselyn gets a new chance at life while another family is grieving the loss of their baby. But through a selfless act gave their baby a chance to live on in the heart of the recipient child

@@TessaRoloson ok thx
Great Dr. Avery had. So good with her. Loved how he asked if her sister was married ha ha. 😃
Soozifer _ I literally died laughing at that bit. It’s not every day that we get great doctors like him. Classic!!!!
Ami Donnelly agreed! I only wish more Drs were that easy to talk to and not arrogant.
Soozifer _ I know. We definitely need more doctors like him 😊
Are you married
...... I'm a little girl I'm too young to get married
Lmao so cute

My mom’s friend was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis as an adult…another rare occurrence
Love this show. Wished it was still on. Wee Jocelyn is so adorable 🥰
It's heartbreaking 💔 when small children and babies get sick and have to be admitted to the hospital.
According to the date at 11:03 this was filmed in 1999 so 20 years ago
Rachel C Yes.
Avery's family is so darling ♥️
It sucks when little ones are sick like that.
I'm glad Jocelyn got a new heart, but it's sad that someone else's child had to die for that to happen
How cute was Avery’s sister? Hi Avery!
Wow i remember watching this on show back int he day, went to that hospital many times too.
The hospital did not fail Joselyn, the heart failed and she needed a new heart they did say she would need a new heart

Tessa Roloson Because the hospital failed her.
@@danielledewitt1 how did the hospital fail her? I haven't seen anything about her except she got the transplant. How did she die?
333pinkitty Faulty transplant I believe. Hospital gave her another transplant but they opted for a bad one.
If you ask me, the nurse that took Jocelyn was rude, especially when the anethiest asked the mum if she was all right 😡
They said the family’s from Saskatchewan Canada 🇨🇦. That’s where I live. I wonder which city. I’m hope Joselyn’s okay.
I think they're from Saskatoon. It was mentioned in another video
