I was so excited to see you have an Echinobivia exactly like mine, even the flower is identical. What an awesome cactus collection you have, even without the flowers but the flowers along with the beautiful cactus (bursting with health) makes even more so.
WOW those blooms are absolutely BEAUTIFUL Ana :-D and first time bloomers are always extra special, and FANTASTIC and informative video on how you got your Echinolovia to flower, thanks so much for sharing your tips, I was so excited to see my Thelocactus bicolor and Echinocereus rigidissiums that had not flowered in 5 years coming into bud, but sadly the buds dried up and fell off during the heatwave, thanks so much for sharing the stunning beauty with us, and Buzby is so cute haha, Hans and I are sending you lots of love and happiness and CAFFEINE and PLANT POWER to Las Vegas for a blooming wonderful weekend XXXX
Thanks Lyn. It is always exciting to see a cactus flower for the first time. Oh no, that is unfortunate that your buds dropped during the heat wave. 😕 But better the bud than the cactus itself. I hope they will form more buds soon.
Yeah, my cacti are not blooming either. I think it's the heat. Maybe your Rainbow Hedgehog will bloom in Autumn? Will be sending you good thoughts for color in the season coming up.
Awesome video Ana and gorgeous blooms. I was hoping the Rainbow Bursts you sent me would flower this year but they’re too busy making offsets lol. Thank you for sharing with us as always. Have a wonderful day and weekend from Edith & myself 🌵☀️🌼🌸🌺🏜☕️
How awesome Ana!!! All blooming together!! What a treat!! Looks like that bee is making new Echinobivias! Starting over with my peach rainbow bursts after root mealies destroyed the mother. Lots of offsets though!! Thanks for sharing these beautiful flowers!!! From Morris Park in the Ozarks, have a wonderful weekend ahead!!! Peace, Love, Plants!!!✌💖🌵🌺🌴🌻🌹🌳🌷🌲🏵🌿😃👍
My rainbow burst kept dropping its buds this summer. It was my theory that I wasn't giving it enough water. Your video makes me think this even more! Thanks Ana.
Oh no, it happens to you too! Yes, took me a while to figure it out. Keep Echinopsis well hydrated and they don’t like being moved too when they are in bud. Such a diva! Hahaha. 😄 Good luck!
Lovely Ana 😎 Interesting to hear about the extra watering. Some of mine split as they drank too fast, but they grew pups around the damaged parts so thats not so bad. I've rooted up a few pups from last year but now I've got seed pods forming for the first time on some 🙂
The extremely low humidity here is the culprit (5-10%) everyday. Instead of the cactus absorbing moisture from the air, the opposite happens and water (even inside the cactus) evaporates too fast during summer. But speaking of “split”, that is actually my next video! 😃
just a small tip-Echinopsis can take quite a bit of cold if kept dry-and cooler temps can encourage flowering-why not try leaving some of those offsets out as an experiment. I am sure that in your relatively dry climate -they should be OK and flower better.
How do you keep your cactus so plump? Some of mine look great when I get them and then look like raisins no matter if I try to water them or leave them be!
What is your opinion? I've watched your blooming video, am I fertilizing enough for blooming? I fertilized them 2 times this year in early spring every 4th watering then stopped bc the temperatures got into the 100s really fast this year. I was scared of skinny growth due to heat + fertilizer. Thoughts?
Twice is enough. Make sure you dilute the fertilizer. The effect takes time. You are correct that if you over fertilize, your cactus will grow quick but skinny.
hey Ana, when you fertilize with the morbloom do you spray the entire cactus or do you just water the soil ? that might be a stupid question but I figured I would ask, thank you so much in advance!! I have a rainbow burst that has never bloomed so hopefully this helps!! 🌵💕😊
I try to water just the soil. It is not good to let fertilizer stay on cactus as it may cause burning. But sometimes it is hard not to get the cactus itself wet. But try to avoid it when you can.
My Echinopsis is 3yrs old. Hasn't bloomed for me yet..I've had it 2 yrs..it was the size of a lemon..now it's about the size of a Mango.. it's producing a lotta pups!! I haven't fertilized it in a few months.. it's Oct now...so I'm not gonna bother it.
Namumuklak rin yung echinopsis ko yung globular walang tinik at parang cotton yung nasa kanyang areoles. Medyo katulad siya sa inilipat mo na cactus from terracotta to plastic pot pero puti po ang kanyang flower. I have no idea sa mga ids

Enjoyed the cacti, but the fishes in the background kept drawing my attention. Nice little pond there.
Oh, the pond is one of my husband’s hobby. He’d be happy to hear that you like it. 😃

Thank you and good luck with your cacti! Enjoy. 😊🌵☕️
Tnx for sharing with us mam Ana 🙂 wow beautiful flowers 😍sa akin mam 3 yrs na ala syang flowers 😥🌵🌸🌼🍀🙂
Nakakainis kapag ayaw mag flower and yet healthy naman. Try mo a little more sun and add fertilizer. Hope it works.

Thanks for the tip! This winter I am leaving more Echinopsis outside my greenhouse. 🙂👍🏼
You are not wrong about the IDs lol. They need a name to sell them so rainbow burst is better than NoID
Hahaha
How do you keep your cactus so plump? Some of mine look great when I get them and then look like raisins no matter if I try to water them or leave them be!
Echinopsis and Lobivia likes to be watered more often than other desert cacti. Also, try to protect them during the hottest part of the day.
What is your opinion? I've watched your blooming video, am I fertilizing enough for blooming? Does it help if the summer is very hot, say above 90F?
I find that cacti flower well at temperatures between 80F-100F. Anything below or above that, they usually don’t flower as much.
Some of them takes a while before they show their flowers. But once they start, they usually bloom every year. Hope yours bloom next spring!
👍😊🌵🌵🌵🌵🌸🌸
I plant a cactus inside my house with Led light.

Probably Echinopsis subdenudata!! Small blunt spines, fuzzy felt arioles, white flower, sounds exactly like subdenudata!! Peace, Love, Plants!!!✌💖🌵🌺🌴🌻🌹🌳🌷🌲🏵🌿😃👍
@Philip, I think Clyde Morris is correct. It may be an Echinopsis subdenudata. 😃 … @Clyde, I’m impressed you understood our Tagalog language! Hahaha
