One of a thousand things I've learned from Phil's channel over the years, don't be afraid of a Cort product! I'd never heard of them before, now I know how much stuff they make and how well. I wouldn't hesitate to buy something from them.

Thanks for the great description of the neck shape and feel, I find that missing in many specs and overviews, yet it's one of the most important aspects of whether a guitar will work for each player or not.
This is so true. I went on a guitar shop here in philippines and they sell a lot of Cort guitars and damn they are so good even for the price, you won’t believe on how cheap they are with so good quality, good hardwares and quality material used on every guitar
I love your wall setup. Nice and clean, well organized too. Side note, I put graphite in my nut slot of my Squier Jagmaster and can bend now without going out of tune almost at all! That trick really works.

Cort were already great 15 years ago but nowadays they're really going the extra mile. No wonder PRS has their SE's manufactured by Cort.
I’m getting one. Recent Cort Convert. Took a trade for an old Samick Semi, the Cort GTD16 which has blown me away with the quality, playability and tone. HSS, Alnico pickups and a blow out switch.
Cort guitars are quite popular down my neck of the woods. I only own one of their basses though; I like it a lot! Their electric guitar usually don't interest me, but the roasted maple neck has caught my attention!
Hey Phil, looking forward to seeing a review on that Floyd Rose Del Mar in the background. Bit of an odd character, haven't ever seen one in person. Excited to see you review it!
Phil, I love the graphics showing the pick up modes. Thanks. Not a fan of Black guitars but aside from the color choice this is a nice one. I like the natural wood "non binding" as it really makes this look expensive and custom. Great sounds
I remember seeing those Cort ads with Matt “Guitar” Murphy of Blues Brothers fame in the 80’s and 90’s. They were so cheesy at the time, being mostly traditional style guitars that everyone loves now.

Cort has always made good guitars. I had a Samic SG back in the day that was a great guitar. The problem with Cort is they don’t have any big box and very few independent store distribution. Other issue is for $750 you can get a Charvel, Fender, Jackson, PRS or other “name brand” guitars. Cort needs to partner with Zzounds or American Music for distribution or even becoming the house brand like Michael Kelley or Harley Benton. Harley Benton has circumvented distribution issues by being incredibly priced, which in the buy to play retail environment we’re in now has helped their branch become a household name for guitar players.

I like electric guitars and have a few of them but one thing I don't like about electric guitars is how you have to go through an inspection and setup process with every guitar you get. With something like a keyboard you just plug it in and play, which is nice.
That versatile pickup wiring is used on more and more guitars. I believe the inner / outer coil setting works best with 24 fret guitars because the pickups are closer together than on 22 fret guitars. I don't understand why PRS doesn't implement it on their SE guitars.
The pots that came in my Gibson guitars don’t need to be sprayed out because they never get static. All the other guitars, some of which are quite expensive, need to be sprayed. I wish I knew more about this Phil, I would upgrade all the electronics as needed. I don’t like to spray out pots, it can get everywhere. The Rickenbacker pots never need to be sprayed, and so far the MIM Fender is A-ok. The 3 way switches are a different story, the only one that held up is the Les Paul. 335 and Explorer need help. I don’t want to work on the Ibanez UV77, collectors item etc. But the pot is staticky. Suhr, static. ESP, static. I would like to know how to tighten the 1/4 male jacks. All my plugs get loose, and I’m tightening them all the time. I just don’t want to put pliers on the metal and scuff it, cause issues with contact. There are some old pots on my preamps too, they’re basically shot. I would like to refurbish those because apparently they’re not for sale anymore. Just thinking out loud here.

I had a Cortez les paul copy when I was much younger in the late 70's thru early 80's and that guitar was killer. I unfortunately had to sell it during a bit of a financial struggle. That guitar played and sounded great. it was sort of light for a les paul style. The cap was carved, it was crowned and bound nicely and I'm thinking it was a bit chambered under the top. The guitar had incredible sustain. I read somewhere that Cortez was in fact the first incarnation of Cort guitars. I'm not sure that's true but that was a nice guitar. I have tried to buy another but when ever i stumble onto one it's either over priced or not in very good shape. I could buy a used CR series used in great shape with a case for 300 or less.
I have seen a couple of other reviews of the same guitar...they all love it. Almost all guitars have some minor nut/bridge/neck issues out of the box...the nut slots are a minor thing and probably not even relevant if it does not affect tuning. The pickups and the locking tuners are what do it for me - you just don't find to many guitars under $1K with these specs.
I have just returned mine to Thomann, and asked for a replacement - it played GREAT, but finish/assembly flaws were unacceptable, even for this price range: totally messed up neck pocket geometry, "skewed" or crooked bridge humbucker, bridge was not assembled properly (or the bridge undercut was off - visually bridge vs body did not align properly). And they cannot package their instruments well - inner box was not taped and guitar literally fell out into the bigger, outer one. TWICE!!
