My son has his DNA done with
23 & Me. On my moms side , our family genealogy has been traced back 63 generations and some VERY INTERESTING PEOPLE are in my genealogy. And some not so interesting people as well.
      Some names are :
      John.of Guant
      King Edward lll
      Richard Nevelle
      Margaret Beaufort
It's been traced and documented. Some of those names I had already charted in my charts.
My question is has Andy done any family genealogy ?

On the document, it looks like it's between a Cordwainer, which is a term used in boot and shoe making. Cordwainers are masters in the art of working with new leather. I have a line of Cordwainers in my fathers family lineage, the rest were boot and shoe makers. It looks like you've found some wills. I'd love to have documents like that.

    • @mimiper72
      @mimiper72 Год назад

Yes, it’s agreement for apprenticeship under the Cordwainer, which yes was a shoemaker that made fine luxury shoes where a shoe maker made basic/work shoes and boots. In the document the apprentice agrees to stay and work with the cordwainer for seven years. At which point he would be free to start his own shop. I’ve researched my ancestors and found Cordwainers, and this type of document was standard when hired as an apprentice to learn a trade from a master craftsman. Absolutely has nothing to do with slavery as others have commented on the video.

I totally get ya! I kinda HATE some of the places he'ss just off to runnin' around in. They find some decrepit, abandoned, disgustingly DIRTY (which is the least to worry about!) moldy, places that could have ANY odd things about! Needles or broken glass from windows or whatnot anywhere. Broken mirrors from idiot kids. *shivers me timbers* OR kids! God only KNOWS what's lying around for him to sniff or step in/on or taste test or roll around in! Like that moldy ? Alive and EWWWWW @36:35
That shyt could be ANYwhere! Then, I'd thinkin' about all the vermin that could be there. Eating their kill, or sleeping. Maybe protective of their space. Maybe they got new babies they'd pounce or bite to protect them.
We don't have possums where I live, but have ya SEEN the teeth on those things?! Yikes!Rats, snakes and raccoons. Like NO THANKS! Those are the obvious, but what about the little critters? Never mind the ticks & fleas, what about snakes and spiders? (They got bad ones there?)
Deer mice can poop infected shyt that would harm an adult here! What if bed bugs or lice take a ride on Bear (so tiny & they JUMP!) What if he brings them HOME!? Ohhhh! Imagine Andy! 🤣 Cockaroaches and stink bugs, wasps and, and, I could go on! A bug bite could go really wrong on a dog, then you'd have no idea he's even been bit, or by what?
I'm not judging - To each their own.
I'm just sayin', I know I'D never have the kahoonas to let my fur kid run around in the unpredictable shacks these 2 find! Bear seems to have a great time and has come back in 1 piece - SO far! I keep him in my prayers just as much (if not more) than our boys! 😉

That was an exciting and amazing explore. Just by looking at the books (some of which I have) the person who lived there must have been really interested in history, ancient and modern, his collections of folk art was amazing. He may have been considered 'weird' but he was searching for meaning in and to life. It's so sad that all his possessions have been left to rot. I hope Bear is ok, that was really strange that he was so focused on something that he ignored your calls. I'm curious to know how Matt and Andy became separated right at the beginning.

Would love to see more of your adventures getting to your destination. It was awesome 😍. I laughed so hard I think I wee'd myself. Love you guys! Also, I've learned so so much...seriously. (I'm American)
I'm trying to think of a way to give permission for anyone who loves my things (being an artist, especially my paintings) may take and enjoy!!! How sad to think about our homes becoming like your video homes!!!
Anyway, love love LOVE our Matt and Andy ❤❤ BTW, I got excited seeing that you'd be on over an hour!! Terrific work 👏

Well, Bear was focused on some creature or other there! That was a very old cottage and OMG the cobwebs! I wouldn't have gone in there because of those, never mind the rats!

I cannot believe the difficulties you two get yourselves in! Face-boarding down a slope, nettles and a silted-up pond before you even get in the house! Love it! The first stamps were the Queen's father, and the young woman was Queen Victoria. I live in a stone cottage and it has internal stone walls 18"-24" thick.

Oh that was a brilliant vid! The beginning was so funny 😂 and Bear was acting so weird, he seemed to be frozen stiff but trembling...?? The good thing was, ive been binging on your videos at night before bed this week to cheer me up and I really like the ones were you start off in a field or woods (ive been trying to find the one where Andy is scared by cows and the other one where Matt falls in cow muck lol) so this one was perfect. Cheers!

This was hilarious and great finds! Poor Bear was in a trance for sure! The man that lived there could’ve been in that room and Bear was fixated on him! That guy was into all types religions, ghosts and history! Just all odd combinations for sure. I hope the home was worth while for you guys after all you endured! I enjoyed sad to say what you endured and what you found! Lol

    Hi you two and Bear!
My Father taught me at the tender age of four years old, to read and write in copper plate script…and I already had started reading the ˋclassic books’ at 5 years old, which used to confound my teachers - the Janet and John books, at the time, provided for six year olds, I used to refuse to read…. I did however, have to modify my handwriting….and also I had to get rid of the ˋ thou ‘ and ˋdoths‘, whilst writing, stories :-)
Anyway my lovelies, the first document which you found was a legal document drawn up between John Lowir of Wolverhampton, in the County of Stafford, and Thomas Pitt, which involved, as you correctly surmised, was a seven year apprenticeship/ indentured servant agreement in 1777, ( Just to add context to this point in time, 1776, America has just newly gained it‘s independence from the UK Crown, the previous year).
From what I could ascertain from the quick scan which you made, was that Thomas Pitt, would receive the sum of 5 shillings weekly (which I think was not a bad income at this point in time for an apprentice), for the said term of 7 years, as well as being provided ˋgood and sufficient meat dishes, washing and lodgings and wearing apparel of all sorts, and all other necessaries during all the valid term, provided always).
The second document which you came across, I would have liked to have seen a better view of, but I understand that it had been folded up too much. This document was a handwritten, last will and testament of Joseph Wildumith??, an Iron Monger, in the County of Stafford, who had stated that he was sound in mind and body, which I believe had been written in 1775.
At the time, the majority of the working classes, were unable to read or write, so Joseph Wildumuth, had by this point in time, shown that he had been an educated man, as he had been able to sign this document with his name, whereas, the witnesses to his last will and testament, had just placed an ˋx‘, which was a common practice, at this time.
Anyway, I hope this of interest to you both…
I look forward to seeing further adventures from all three of you, but I have say hats off to you for continuing your investigation, after being so scratched and covered in mud… that certainly show’s extreme dedication to providing us all with the interesting content on your channel (I myself, would have thought ˋsod it, come on Bear, we are going home‘, and would have happily have left Andy to it, wandering around in the dark, though this insane undergrowth, until I realized that you had came to this location in his car..:-)
Anyway, best wishes to all three of you, from an ex-pat now living in Germany :-)
