AA is an Embarrassment on every level. Glad someone else finally agrees.

really nice review. As you say, the seat is old but still pretty cool (old but gold). Sometimes it's nice to experience an old product. And wow that food and service looked terrible! Good that you were able to get some good dinner in the QF lounge. As for the curtain, U.S. carriers aren't allowed to have solid curtains anywhere on the aircraft following 2001, so, they're more just to stop people from entering first class.

Yep, I figured the curtain was probably something to do with security. But it's just a stark contrast to someone like Lufthansa, that go out of their way to install a special thick, sound deadening curtain for First. Thanks for watching and commenting, genuinely appreciate it :)

I sighed in relief when you meant the flag ship cabin was being phased out and not the actual plane. Because I love the 777-300er

@@Av8rApollo Yep, 77W will stay, but top out at Business Class. Thanks for watching.

Thanks for the great video and your honest review. Didn't know about access to Qantas lounge. Would like to try it next time. Didn't know about a special check in for AA 1st class either at LAX. Thanks for the info.

Thank you for watching! The separate entrance can easily be missed, well worth finding compared to the "regular" priority check in though. Qantas First lounge also a step up from AA if you're leaving from TBIT.

Great review. Seems like this would be a nice BUSINESS class experience, but not first.

"Very 2000s" seems like a good summary overall I think, interesting (apart from mediocre). Thanks for going out of your way to take the vid.
What's the other first option to US? Qantas a380? Or did you mean from sorry

    • @LeisureFlyer
      @LeisureFlyer  11 месяцев назад +1

Cheers, thank you for watching :) I believe the only first options to/from direct to USA are QF and AA at the moment. However, I think AA might change back to 787 to Sydney at some point, so I was keen to try the 777 before the swap.

Air Canada allows earbuds to be worn thru both take off and landing but not the airline provided sound cancelling phones.

Interesting, wonder why you can't wear the headphones during take off and landing?

Thank you for this. I'm taking this trip in November. How did you have access to the Qantas lounge? What time did they serve dinner on the plane? I think my flight departs at 10:30 pm, so I cannot fathom having dinner at midnight or 1 am.

As an AA First passenger, you can access the QF First lounge in Tom Bradley. No need to explain anything to the lounge agents, just hand them your boarding pass and you'll get in.
Looking back at the time stamps, we pushed back at 11pm. Table was set at 11:45pm, I got my starter at 11:59pm and main meal at 12:18am. I think the crew did offer an express option, but I went for the full meal service. Either way, you'll still be eating around midnight
If you want to maximise sleep, I'd suggest getting a proper feed in the QF lounge and then maybe a snack on board. The food at the lounge was much better than on board anyway, so it's up to you whether you think it's a better use of time to sleep.
Thanks for watching and enjoy your flight! Let me know how you go :)

I was looking at a flight, and first was 10k more than business( 15,472$) so that’s a crappy price to upgrade

That's crazy, definitely not worth that much more.

Nice review. AA is the worst U.S. carrier by a mile. The lounge says a ton about the state of the airline. Hopefully you will never fly AA again. Great vid!
