You are correct Bill, there was massive flooding in Chiang Rai. There was flooding in areas that supposedly have never flooded before (according to the locals). It was pretty bad. Water service was just recently restored and the clean up is under way...
BKK has two of my favorite places. I had a salad at the Cheesecake Factory and the total bill came to 700 Baht. I also went to Shake Shack and a cheeseburger combo was 400 Baht. Took a peek into the Gordon Ramsey place at Emisphere and they most expensive item on the menu was 3000 Baht. It was an imported steak but it is Gordon Ramsey.
But people don't get screwed that bad in other countries , where people have no scruples . We can call him stupid... But this goes into the abstract, take the cake, only Thailand is capable to muster...
You can't help these fools. They come here knowing what might happen and somehow think it won't happen to them. Even when you warn them about someone they won't believe you. Even when you warn them about the second and a third girl they still won't listen. I have no sympathy anymore, it sounds cold but many of these guys are just fools. How come they cant tell the difference between someone who really loves them and a con artist is beyond me. There's no helping them.
@@UTCM I've advised many friends correctly who lost everything, and not just in Thailand. Some people have a poor judge of character or think with the wrong head lol...
Hooters wings are my favorite! I haven't been back to the US in years and I'm curious if the wings taste the same here. If so, I may have to travel to Bangkok just for that!
Bkk is big , lots of traffic :-) Trains busses cars , whatever :-) Was short time in CM , central was acceptable :-) Only when I went north for 2.5 hours in the back of one of those reddish p/up trucks , did I realise how big the place was . While busy , was not Bkk :-)

I am coming to CM on my 11th visit on 1st October alone but wont be falling for any crap.....too experienced :) I will be staying in Raming Lodge as usual. Can you give me the name and location of your friends coffee shop please? I will pay her a visit to support her business during my 10 days there before moving onto Jomtiem. Have a great evening
Interesting that the Thai husband wanted to sue the European and that there was no mention of him being upset in his Thai wife indicates to me that he was perhaps in on the "scheme" / "scam". I'd be curious to see if this is a recurring thing with those two. We've all heard the stories of Thai women having multiple boyfriends online.
