Enjoying your video-lessons very much. Trying to get back into playing. Sometimes I just like to study jazz theory. Play, study or both, your videos help keep me going cause they're also fun. Thanks and see in Berlin someday!
Nice video that seems to open up lots of improvisational possibilities for this classic tune. Thanks for putting the work in (so we don’t have to 😅.) ❤ from the UK.
@@tinajackel Yes, you said something about the Aminor on a sharpened 4th? Also a secondary dominant....what's a secondary dominant🤔🤫? Other than that, yes I seem to understand the rest, although i'm novice Jazz player and reader of music, I might just have to invest in the Pat Metheny book😊
min. 6:48 ... "who is playing there?"... To my humble ear it sounds very similar to the phrasings of Miles Davis in "Sketches of Spain -Flamenco Sketches" ruclips.net/video/nTwp1sgUJrM/видео.html ... posible? ... keep up the excellent work!
This is the song Pat metheny tries to peek, build up, litterally ejaculate during this guitar solo. This is Pat methenys facial expression during guitar solo playing live. I cant describe it anyway else. I forget what Pat calls it. A zone when he feels like he knows exactly what to play (Before you play but plenty of time to do so?) Your ahead of it.. . But Pat metheny already knows his fretboard backwards sideways, upside down. Ahead of time, time to play whatever you hear in your head on spot. Astronomical
Very nice presentations , Tina 🤗🙏🏽👍🏽✌🏽
Great video! Lyle Mays plays the bendy harmonica line on the keyboard.
thank you Jeremy! i am not sure that Lyla Mays plays that solo, i think it is a harmonica player, but who?
@@tinajackel I know it sounds like Toots or Gregoire Maret, but it's Lyle, really! ruclips.net/video/l4jIbLYE3gQ/видео.html
@@jeremydonald5961 Did Lyle base his harmonica sound on Toots Thielemans' sound? That's what I've always thought.
@@twangbarfly Seems like it!
