- This 40’ standard cube was $3590. Still way higher prices than ore pandemic but down about $1,000 from previous high prices here in Nashville Tn area.
Scott, gotta love that smooth delivery! Even at $3500 it's still way below the build cost for that kind of space. Great video!
Wes agreed, and the property tax savings too
@here-i-am2316 here where I live you still pay property taxes on it, they even charge property tax on a semi trailer if you pull the axles and put on the ground or a foundation. You have to keep it mobile or pay.
Great idea is to put 2 side by side and roof the gap. Then you have 2 lockable and just a dry open part in the middle 👍
All things considered, that's a lot of storage space for not a lot of money.
Ten more make a condo 😆
@@tomtheplummer7322 big time 👍😁 but I'm thinking about mantions.
@@tomtheplummer7322 look up Andrew container castle
Hey there buss grease monkey.....I would really encourage you to get all of your containers up off of the ground on concrete blocks so you get air flow under them especially in your part of the country .....otherwise the floor and bottom of the container will rot out hope this helps hate to see your investment go to waste
Appreciate you helping others and sharing with the rest of us
It’s on an elevated chert (gravel) base. It’s just fine. Our other is nearing 3 years on chert and no issues.
My only concern was that the ground would be able to dry ou and cats can get under them and keep the rodent population to a minimum...thats allb
Thanks for responding and thanks again for sha4 the videos and your great work ..!!!!
Add 110v and 220v plus mini split a/c plus tables and racks plus lighting. It adds up but worth it.
Great video 👍 You could frame and make access doors on the side ,better use of such a long container as having one door at the end is restrictive.
Paid 5k delivered new never used 40' white , doors on both ends, one w/side doors, really cool, 8500 for that one. I'm100 miles from Chicago. Down side, humidity isn't the storage box friend, rust can be a problem.
We found the metal wall shipping containers sweated a lot. We now go for the wood lined containers used in trucking, they were around the same money before the hoax.
Can't get over How Gently that got Placed down!
such a usable space Scot
I need one of those in the back yard!
When you started walking inside to the end of the container I felt like I was tripping!
I got quoted @ 3,600 so about the same in Upstate Ny
Hi Scott
U can always use more storage
fairly cheap, decent, mostly secure, storage space. you cannot really go wrong with them, worst case, slap an overhanging roof on top them. a redneck bed-liner spray coating after good cleaning may work fine also. 🤪
Like somebody already said, a side door would be beneficial! Always need more storage.
I have a 65 hp Branson tractor. I was able to move my container into the "perfect" spot once it was on the ground.
I just had a 40' long tall one delivered for $3,200 in KY. I looked at several companies to find that price.
Not bad. U own it and can even park a car in there if U want. These are very durable and in your case very useful to store bus parts. I bet you will buy another one in a bit.
That's the 3 rd one
So, what's the plan for this container? Storage of parts or tools or a mix of both? Let us know, thanks.
Spray the entire outside with 2.8 lb spray foam! Insulated so no condensation and new exterior paint all in one!!!😉
Still need to use screw anchors to stop twisters from tossing the container like a cardboard box
i have one on my channel , 40 foot hicube but 1 trip , no dents or stickers , bamboo floor, 6000 dollars delivered in Colorado.
I can’t afford those fancy 1 trip containers. But that’s about the same price here for those
@@BusGreaseMonkey i bet this same container i got is probably 7-8 k now, i got it due to the county said they were trying to ban conex boxes , but i thought if mine was more earth tone it would pass, its a tan colored one.
Watching from mildura Australia hi
It would love some paint.
keep the clips coming
Condensation monster!!
Time to get the welder out. Put some fire pit ash under or around the bottom and you won't get mice
We pay over $5000.00 in Canada for a 40 ft
There is a possibility in my 20 yrs of moving containers that I might have had that hooked up to my truck taking it to a warehouse 😅
Gotta contain the stuff 👌
Are you not going to put it up on blocks? Didn't you have him drop the last one on 6x6s or blocks , or did you do it later. I remember you going back and leveling it but I thought it was already on blocks.
I understand it's possible to buy these a bit cheaper if they fail their watertight certification. Might be OK if it's not sitting on a flood plain.
Hey Scott question can you get in touch with these container companies and wonder if you could get used side panels of containers they cut up
This one looks a little bit beat up. Must have a number of trans oceanic under its floor boards.
But, it’s water or weather tight, the doors work and it will hold stuff. It may look scruffy, but a quick splash of paint would improve its looks considerably. Or just let the woods grow up around it and hide it.
I see you still have some flat space to the side of it. Was that intentional or just a happenstance?
Wow, those were like $800 not that many years ago. I think the 20' were $500. Crazy.
I paid $2400 for a 40’ in this condition in 2010.
popularity wins again! at one point they could not get rid of them and were sending it all to scrap...
Oh my, rusting stuff. 🤭🙏🏻
Is that with delivery? I am having a tough time finding one at a reasonable price in Southern Nevada, one state from the coast and they are crazy expensive here, tried looking to rent a slide off gooseneck trailer like that but can not find one to rent to haul one myself. I can not justify $5k for a container, that they bought for so much less.
No 4-way flashing and no horn when backing up...hmmmm. Other than that they did ok. Ummm...looking at the ground instead of the container? It shows by the signage it is a super heavy, so yeah it is longer than average.
I going to check if that same container was ever used for shipping clothes for asda in UK will let you know.
What did you find mark?
@@Stinkbait-iu8ke was not used for asda clothing
I often wondered how long the wooden floors will last when parked on a dirt surface. I have also heard stories of raccoons digging right through the floor and building their home inside. Keep in mind this is in Pennsylvania.
Used to rent and sell conexs in Washington state. As long as the floor was in good condition when it was set in place, we never had one go bad in 20 years. Had a few where the customer drilled a hole in the floor to run an extension cord in...some of those had problems...
Bet you that guys transmission was screaming hot after getting up that hill with that load.
7 gallons of fluid in 38 seconds
@@BusGreaseMonkey And probably a new truck every 18 months as well.
The only thing you need to consider now is Watershed off the roof. To prevent pooling and rusting. Welcome to the Modern Age of quick storage. That's larger than my apartment and cheaper.
not that it matters, but from the outside it looks like a t-rex got loose inside that container
believe that chapdog
was that $
3500 delivered?
Nice 👍
In Hawaii last year that container would've sold for 10k to 12k. Ridiculous.
I bet that guy with the 1 ton truck wishes he had a Detroit in it.......😂 I bought my container in Southern California twenty-five years ago for $2,100.
🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🍻🍻🍻👀👀👀☕️☕️☕️👍👍👍🥃🥃🥃🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Suprised that gord made it off the lot by itself let alone with a trailer and container on it
Hee hee. Haw haw. That was funny! You’re a regular comedian. Any shows this weekend?
So that is where you hide the dead bodies of trespassers, or jail the living ones!
