1699 for an SLO? That's insanely good value. And it sound much more to my liking in the last few clips. I would choose it over the SLO.
Same thing for their 20-watt starting at 1.1K, these prices are honestly great for dipping your feet into more boutique oriented amplifier heads

You be surprised how many extremely talented and skilled people are out there..... Their products will just never see the light a day because they don't have the money to fund it. I met a guy that can craft a guitar better than any of these companies..... He's just a regular Joe though. And even if he marketed his guitars, nobody would buy them because they don't know who the hell he is

Wow, sounds awesome. It sounded better to me than the Soldano and that’s a dream amp for me. It seems to have more usable gain than the Soldano. And who needs a clean channel!
They make a clean channel amp too
I just looked and they make an "Antares Deluxe" with a clean channel and this overdrive channel. Sounds like a no-brainer for me because I like to have both a clean and an overdrive channel on my amps. Maybe it's because I like proving to friends that my amp heads can be just as versatile as modelers while sounding even better
For cleans at this point I'd just run a Fender or Roland Jazz Chorus with an A/B pedal. This amp sounds so good
i felt that way after I got my Friedman BE 100 Deluxe. After I got the Friedman I sold all my other amps except the JCM800.

One of the coolest heaviest amp sounds I've ever heard on RUclips and your descriptions on tones and tweaking style is like trying it our for myself. Great video Kyle. Sticking to rhythms and riffs does so much more justice for a sound demonstration.

That amp sounds sick!!! Bad ass!!!! Seems like, I like alot of amps with el34s. Seems to me they can be so tight, and crispy . Even an old el34 driven WEST Avalon 50w, sounds sick, with a nasty distortion, fed into the front. THAT amp though, is truly another level!!!!😮😮😮 well done Sloane!!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤

It sounds awesome. In the comparison the SLO sounded too thick but the depth control is turned up pretty high. I like the SLO depth around 6 or less and presence even a tad higher than yours is set here. that price point will have to go up once people hear more of these amps.
Not sure about the Sloan, but Mike Soldano built amps are tanks! Touring musicians must have. Nothing worse than your drunk load-in/out throwing your amp around and it’s broken when it’s time to play.
@@mastrsk8I had an SLO-100 but sent it back after a month. It came with the effects loop not working properly, and with less than a few weeks use the HT fuse had blown. The guitar shop confirmed the faults as well. I have cheaper valve amps that went years without any issues, so this was a major red flag. Amazing sounding amp and maybe I just got a dud, but at the price point I expect it to not shit itself after less than a month of normal use. Probably gonna get an MZero Overdrive to replace it.

I’ve seen how Soldano checks them (quality control) and it makes me wonder how they wouldn’t have found that. Well, I’m sorry to hear that happened to you. Bummer.
@@mastrsk8 Yeah, I’ve never heard of people having issues with them either, hence why I was so shocked. I’m gonna guess I just got really unlucky; probably fixable, but they were having to send it back to California from the UK for a warranty repair and I was told it would be months before I got it back. Awesome amp, but it isn’t worth that much hassle.

The tones are great. I do think the amp would benefit from a more thought through aesthetic. As it is, it kinda looks like a Jet City.

Sounds good. The SLO has a lil something xtra, girth/depth, like any 100w vs 50w amp. That Sloane is a great deal for someone wanting a more modern, handwired amp comparable to a Soldano Hot Rod 50. Dig it.
When Kyle played that LP with the duncan Jupiters in drop C. THAT IS THE SOUND OF THE GATES OF HELL OPENING. I want that amp now

It always cracks me up cause it's the rounder/ fuller sound that I really like when it's just the one guitar playing. But I know you are aiming for a tone that's going to sit in a mix. That being said I absolutely loved the sound of the Sloan

It is 50 watts perfect. It's really Kool to see a new amp come out as well.
Can't go wrong with 50 watts. Can be quiet enough to not drive your family crazy but can also be ungodly loud and end with a knock from the police because someone four blocks away is being driven insane

Everything good started with one guy or small crew who really cared about what they were making and had the right instincts in what made something good for many different players. Once it grows to a corporate level and bean counters make decisions over a builder, it usually goes down hill from there.
man that sounded pretty baller! I'm liking what they are doing with the diode amps these days. I picked up a ground zero helion recently, and it's got a feature to dial in the amount of diode. Now I wish all amps had that feature, but that thing sounds rippin man.

It's probably the only amp along with the EVH 5153 that has EL34s and i like it....i would still pick a 6L6 amp anyday tho

Nah! A SLO100 was originally created from Mike Soldano modifying earlier Mark series 1 and 2 amps, and tweaking the things he didn't like with them. Which in the end helped him turn a Mark series Mesa Into a SLO100.

Of course as now I'm intentionally attempting to think of it the model branding? It escapes my haggard brain! Doh!
To be completely honest? As a young dumb punk rock kid? I was Marshall all the way. That is until I heard some of the nastiest ear splitting heavy sludge doom tones irrupting from merely a silverface Bassman 100 and a RAT pedal.
Granted? I'm not per say a modern "Metal" tight distortion enthusiast to say the least, and the tones I'm actively chasing these days?

A dual rect/Orange Rockaverb or JCM800/Fender deluxe & big muff.
That's probably due to my past North Carolina scene association with C.O.C./EYEHATEGOD/BUZZ-OVEN ect...

I heard this amp at a guitar show last year and i was blown away. The hot rodded marshall style amps he builds are just as good. Really nice guy too.
Jesus what an amazing sounding amp. Frankly best high gain tone I've ever heard on the channel. And also I'm not ashamed to admit. I got a hard on with the 7 string tone. When compared to the SLO back to back I'd take the Sloan personally.

This amp’s not for me with the crunch tones it gets but their Canopus amp which is BF Fender based sounds really nice. Has some vids/clips on their site. I know, completely different amp but as much as I love some gain, too many high gainers don’t get a good crunch/classic rock sound. Too filtered, too tight, kind of sterile. But if all you need is a crush all life setting this amp sure seems to deliver. It seemed to like the Fishman’s in the Ibanez a lot.
Would be cool to hear some comparisons between the Sloane and some various versions of the 5150. It seems to sound very similar.
This is so cool but I suspect only one channel might be a dealbreaker for many. I'd put at least (!) two channels and then watch these fly out the door. Also, I would make sure to include some IR loaders and a load function so you could play without being plugged into a cabinet. Nice review and great tones!
Sloane makes a 2 channel version called the Antares Deluxe

UPDATE: Sloane should build a matching 412 cab that matches the specs of a Marshall MF400. A friend of mine had the mf400 loaded with Celestion k100s a few years back and it's still absolutely the best cabinet I've ever heard. They are now a highly sought after and scarce cabinet. Very hard to find so I think it would be a good business opportunity to build a replica
This isn't right. The 50w Generator (G50) is a North American made amp at $2099 and has three channels, a load box with IR loader, a gate, reverb, a foot switch, and probably weighs less. You can get a very similar sound with the purple channel boosted with a Dirty Tree / Fortin Grind / Fortin 33. This amp sounds great and is priced very well, and fits a particular use-case. But the Revv is much more versatile.
Don't forget that the dad rock tones are perfect for the less gainy type punk stuff.

My dream amp is a MezzaBarba MZero which is an EL34 SLO with Plexi features as I’ve heard the circuit described.

Sloane Amplification has a Reverb page. Dude... gut shots show the amps are hand wired! Hand wired in the USA for that kind of money is unreal.

A friend has an older Sloane that is more like a 70s Marshall. Sounds great but the master volume goes from nothing to everything to quickly. Interested in checking this out, especially for the price.
Another amp I'd like to see you demo is the SubZero Saturn 50VR. It seems like it's a Gear4Music exclusive budget amp, listed at about $300, though I'm sure there's some import fees involved, if it's good, it's a sweet deal. The demo videos that Gear4Music have for it are all very poor, of a person playing the amp without touching any of the eq and assumably no boost in front. They don't sound good in their demos, but it could just be the way it's eq'd. I'd just like to see a genuine demo because it could be a sweet sleeper amp.

It does sound good! I do like a two channel amp though with foot switchable super cleans to distortion. But the guy is completely sold out of all his amps except one right now.
