couldnt like the first game because i played it after i played Sekiro and it felt like Sekiro developed by interns. Now they introduce Prince of Persia platforming i dont think combat will be more refined
I quit the first one 2 times until i finally got the force push. The first one starts sooo sluggish and boring, for me atleast it was to much of a platformer, not what i was expecting honestly

Traversal has always been one of the most important things to me. It’s why I love games like prototype, infamous, saints row 4, most Spider-Man’s, the Arkham series. Ect.
The first one was a breath of fresh air, one of the few games in recent memory that I've enjoyed start to finish with minor annoyances. If this one is better than the first (as per the reviewer's claim), then I expect to have a great time with it (provided my goddamn potato can run it.)
I always had problem with any parkour type of activities in games since I started gaming - jumping moving cubes, running on collapsing stairs, grabbing swinging ropes and such stuff. I am having fun with Jedi Survivor though, so I think the mechanics is designed well enough to pass the map even if you are a movement noob.

This had included DDR in the past, where I was finally able to get to the highest difficult as my personal goal, then I just quit almost as soon as I was able to play at least half the songs on Expert (with the top arrows off btw, as they actually mess me up). If I plan to beat a game, it will generally be on the hardest difficulty, unless said difficulty is locked behind a game completion or pay wall. Or unless I get bored. If I lose interest, then easy or hard won't make any difference. I did this in Elder Scrolls, and I will continue to do this with most other games. Although there were some games I've discovered to make absolutely no difference even with difficulty levels, and they wind up being garbage.
So he says it's better than the original in every way but gives it the same score as the original? I guess IGN caps max score based on how many ads a developer paid for.
They want to forget that Jar Jar ever happened. They have basically written him out of star wars. Also the actor that played Jar Jar got many family death threats. So hopefully they don't want to bring that back up.
I felt the call about the difficulty. But what I hate more is not getting a trophy/archivement for going trough hell. I bet there isn't one for the hardest difficulty again...but we will see :)
This is how I felt about getting the S+ Professional run of Resident Evil 4 Remake by beating the game under 5 1/2 hours with less than 15 saves. You get achievements for speed running the other difficulties except for the hardest difficulty in the game. At least you get an item for it.
There are 7 saber styles but the styles depicted in Jedi Survivor is different from the conventional definition of styles in the movies. The game's styles depend on the weapon type but the movie's styles don't necessarily have a specific type of lightsaber required to pull it off. It's more of a combat philosophy and where the styles are used for (dueling, defense, anti-blaster combat)
Cal fighting style from the previous game seems to be the first form and the sixth form. With this review, i think i saw the second form and the fifth form.
I can say, playing it on Xbox series S, and it’s running extremely smoothly and the games heat. Best upgrade from the last, the feeling of the lightsaber, they utilize the controller vibration EXTREMELY well, it feels so freakin good, really feels like you’re a Jedi.
6:58 - there are few things in Star Wars that I yearn more than Jar Jar Binks to finally embrace the fact that he is probably the most insidious and vicious Dark Lords this world ever knew. 16:48 - same problem with most AAA titles. I recommend to play certain indie games that will humble you a bit. But yea - for me lowering the difficulty always feels like surrender.

Then I got around to actually playing it and was just bored. Yes, the story and the graphics were good, but combat just felt boring for most of the time. So I didn't play deep into it, stopped and uninstalled. Combat does look better in Jedi: Survivor, but I'm not convinced yet.

idk if it's just me, but I never liked the lightsaber fighting styles in these games, they seemed so clunky and unrefined with slow wind ups that just doesn't occur with a lightsaber (in theory). I'm an Old Republic fan so to see the untrained jedi moves kinda makes me just want to watch playthroughs from afar. If you like it, even better!

Canonically, the 7 styles are more like different approaches of the same weapon, the single lightsaber. In this game, each style is a different weapon set. Im not saying they don't have some elements in common (for example, the Saber staff is most likely an interpretation of form 3, soresu), they are not the same. Also, some of these forms are obsolete and they were replaced by others, that were specifically designed to improve and overpower previous ones. Yes, I am fun at parties
Much of the substance of the different forms is applicable to any form of lightsaber, because they're as much of an overall style as they are specific attack patterns.

Yeah, it had time manipulation, but that was a mechanic on top of the 3D platforming base. You can’t really disagree that PoP did this EXACT movement system earlier than your example games. Though I don’t at all disagree with your games also being good examples of this movement style. Jedi was literally built on Titanfall’s movement system
The lack of lightsaber dismemberment in the first game sincerely disappointed me. It's one of the most satisfying mechanics of lightsabers, and they just left it out. Glad it's improved.
So this comment section has gone into a PC vs console war as usual. My 2 cent on the matter (if anyone gives a shit) is that both are good. Console is probably better value for money but PC are the better systems and offer a lot more than consoles. If you can spend the extra 3/400 to get a PC you will have a better experience gaming (if the game is optimised okay for PC port) and PCs can be upgraded if future for cheaper or the same price as console. But consoles especially now are great and you won't be left feeling like you're missing out. Its a preference at the end of the day. We all nerd ass gamers so we should get along with the things we have in common like playing a great game that leaves an impression on you 🤷♂️ happy gaming everyone 🤙

this game is a major improvement on the first (and the first was amazing) in terms of almost everything. except for optimization. Its really badly cpu bound. No matter how low i set my graphics, the fps barely changes.
As someone who recently played the first after it went on a 95% discount on steam I can say that, if they have learned from the critiques of Fallen Order then yes this game is gonna be great. Fallen Order was a good game but nothing too special, it was no magnum opus like some reviewers said but it was an alright game. If they have reduced the backtracking and the 5 minute climbing passages after a save point I'll be happy.
They need to bring the Force Unleashed games into the cannon. They showed that they can make a good game-now they just need to hire Sam Witwer and not botch the story.

I can't believe the amount of praise this guy threw at the first one. Half the mobs T Posed on the regular, the level design was trash and relied heavily on rudimentary and gimmicky platforming. The only reason the movement deserved any praise was the rigging and animation on Kal was well executed. Spaghettificafion of NPCs at random. Customization was fine but if they'd have committed that time, money and effort into game mechanics and coding it would have been much better off.

Looks pretty decent, shame they haven't bothered to optimize it on PC according to early reviews so it'll get absolutely slammed on day one unless they release a miracle patch.
They haven't optimized it on any platform from what I've heard. PS5 can't hold 30 frames on quality mode and and sure as hell cant keep 60 on performance mode.
I still think Star Wars Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith is the best rendition of playing as a Jedi, where you could rip shit off the walls and throw it at your enemies.
Only bad thing I've seen about this so far is the PC version suffers from being a PC game in 2023

you can toggle off Spiders. thats correct there is an option to make it so there arent any Giant spiders.

I can't believe the amount of praise this guy threw at the first one. Half the mobs T Posed on the regular, the level design was trash and relied heavily on rudimentary and gimmicky platforming. The only reason the movement deserved any praise was the rigging and animation on Kal was well executed. Spaghettificafion of NPCs at random. Customization was fine but if they'd have committed that time, money and effort into game mechanics and coding it would have been much better off.

This game should of been a DLC. No way I’m paying $70 for a broken game. Uncharted 4 on ps4 has better graphics
Looks pretty decent, shame they haven't bothered to optimize it on PC according to early reviews so it'll get absolutely slammed on day one unless they release a miracle patch.
They haven't optimized it on any platform from what I've heard. PS5 can't hold 30 frames on quality mode and and sure as hell cant keep 60 on performance mode.
