    I love seeing trains going through beautiful canyons near rivers, like in the beginning and later in Immigrant canyon. Really like your music choices in this one, well done 👏

    Your channel is my goto to for rail rides. I love the scenery. I use your videos when doing my stationary bike workouts. The music makes me feel like I’m getting a tour of our beautiful country while doing exercise. Keep these videos coming. Thank you so much.

    That was really good Dan. I like the Amtrak evening catch, with the bonus wink from the UP driver. Even caught the signal change!
    I liked your music choice by the way. Well done my son 😉

    This is another beautifully edited video. There's everything here: cool freight trains, gorgeous landscape, Amtrak train and a lovely sunset. I'm sure crews likes to work this line, because the sights are amazing from start to finish. Wonderful update Dan. I wish you and your family a very happy and successful new year. And keep up the awesome job in 2025 too.

      Thanks so much Z! I wish you and your family the same! I hope 2025 is as eventful as 2024. Just yesterday I decided to do a best of video for the year which will be 90% footage you've already seen but I think it will be fun to put all the best together and it's something I actually really enjoy editing.

    Another wowee Dan. The meet with No. 6 was perfect. As Winnemucca was mentioned two comments: We’ve stayed there and dined at the Martin Hotel on Railroad St. Besides the view the tracks they have great Basque food. My father-in-law was flying in a group of B-25’s transiting from Hamilton Field, CA to Boise, ID. When over the Winnemucca radio fix they received the communication that Pearl Harbor had been attacked. Upon arrival in Boise the bomber crews were ordered to re-fuel and depart for Alaska-life plans changed instantly.

    Very cool scenery with the drone view . And that’s how it starts with the model railroad ideas. Like these scenes from videos or what you’ve seen yourself. Great share and video have a great day

      @TheRailfanDan  Месяц назад +2

      Thanks Trevor I was real happy with that Amtrak meet! No ground camera to record train audio for this video unfortunately. I think I may have said before drones don't record audio? SOMETIMES I add seperate audio to the drone footage but this becomes quite time consuming to make it actually sound accurate to the video you're viewing in the moment. The editing process isn't my favorite part of the hobby so anything more that makes it take longer really kills my motivation to get videos out.

    So many great videos posted lately and I love them all...I wanted to say on this one I really like the time of day you shot this...we get to see more colors in the area and for me this was really a little extra special and the low light at the end with the engine with its lights on was a great finish...thank you for making my holidays extra happy!!!

      Hey thanks so much and I agree I think it's really cool when the light is low enough that the engine headlight is bright enough to be so defined along the rails. So glad I could make you Holidays even better!

      Ha well great! It's funny I've seen both cows like that who could care less about a close train passing by (and drone) and cows who run for their lives when a train passes. Thank you Becky!

    At about 6 minutes in, you mention the Valmy power station; the Valmy formation is a geologically-important unit relevant to gold extraction in this area. As always, beautiful scenery, with musical serenity layered on. I can't thank you enough for your creativity and production/technical expertise. As I frequently mention, it's a little sad for me, as I can't get to these landscapes conveniently, any more.

    Thank you, Dan, for this wonderful video of the westbound Union Pacific loaded grain train heading to California through the part of the Grea Basin in Nevada on 2 August 2024! I enjoyed watching the train as it travels along the Humboldt River west of Raglan, Nevada. The drone footage was magnificent. I was overwhelmed at seeing the meet with Amtrak's eastbound California Zephyr toward the end of the video. That was great planning on your part. Your drone did an excellent job of capturing the grain train in the low light of the waning day. What was the Interstate Highway that kept appearing in this video? (Posted on 4 January 2025 at 2131 CST.)

    • @TheRailfanDan
      @TheRailfanDan  Месяц назад +1

      Thanks so much my friend! I was pretty excited to capture that meet and it took some effort to position myself at the right point on the ground to make it happen. That is Interstate 80 that you kept seeing. Always enjoy reading your comments Thomas!
