There are, shockingly, not that many videos of this awe inspiring "railroad on stilts." I have seen only two other videos of when BN still owned/ran the line
I have been over Half Moon on my railbike several times. It's sad now, the condition of the line; tunnels collapsing, rock slides, one trestle burned. It's passing into history.
WOW!! Glad you put this up for historical reference. It is saved to watch for all time now! GREAT JOB!!! I wish I had made the trip here. I was in the area in 1991 but had been on the road for a couple of weeks with the MRS and she was getting tired of train chasing so this one didn t get done with us. THANKS FOR DOING IT FOR ME...ALL THESE YEARS LATER!!!! 2023
Great angles! The cabooses give away the age of these videos. :) It still amazes me how these wooden trestles can support the weight of the trains crossing them.
It was/is some of the most spectacular trackage in the US. With fires to trestles and dwindling traffic, it is a shadow of its former self. Thank for sharing!

Ran that several times on NARCOA runs led by Jim Morefield, a great guy! Worked that line, knew everything about it.

Great stuff, glad you captured these images when you did.

I was happy I got a chance to shoot video before they quit running.
I see the "big" cars are interspersed with the older "small" ones .. is that a weight restriction thing?
Looks almost identical to Goat Canyon trestle in CA.
@@Beltfedshooters ya Half Moon and Goat Canyon look similar. This one has much better surroundings though
Okay, I can tell the first unit in BN 2874, can anyone tell what the middle unit and the GP50's road # is?
Thank you for the Video Sam . What year were these Images Taken ?
This was in the mid 90's. Don't remember the actual year.
look the same as the goat canyon trestle
