    • @soniasingh2719
      @soniasingh2719 Год назад +5

      Heyyyyyyyyyy Annalise I guess sometimes like.....you don't get chance to speak to much so for that you can use other sources such as chits (really effective tho)....or work with you Alices and make a good resolution paper on your own....that will be good try to raise your playcard as much as possible always be respectful never give false information and be freindly. Also keep the motive in the mind that you're not there to win you're there for finding solutions with all others alsoooo be passionate about your topic. It's not about being older it's about raising your presence in the confrence. Always try to raise motions when the chair asks for it.

    • @soniasingh2719
      @soniasingh2719 Год назад +3

      Also like to raise motions you can kinda before confrence on your topic find some subtopics and know about them.......try to work on the smallest details.

    • @soniasingh2719
      @soniasingh2719 Год назад +2

      Alsoooo for research things rely on true sources.......Like understand your topic know about agenda know about the subtopics research about them.

      hi annalese !! wow, i am impressed that you’re in mun as a 7th grader ! honestly, you can never be 100% prepared for a conference. it’s unpredictable due to the different delegates and issues that may be brought up. therefore, don’t feel limited to only speaking when you know the facts !
      it’s important to be able to improvise and adjust quickly. instead of doing more research, maybe practice with a family member or friend! they may have rebuttals to your solutions and ideas, and practicing being quick on your feet will help you feel way more confident NO MATTER the competition / topics :))
      hope this helps !! feel free to dm me on Instagram @liz.fujiwara if you have any more questions

      There is no such thing as a bad country! Even if your country doesn't feel as relevant compared to another country, that doesn't mean your country can't contribute equally or even more. It's up to you to bring something to the table! :) Remember that the conference is full of students just like you so try not to feel intimidated! Consider them more like teammates rather than competition, and it will be less scary when talking with them.

Or is there like a main topic and subtopics that might be brought up to be debated. Or is there like a bunch of different topics and you have to research them all because you don’t know which one will be brought up. I hope you understand what I mean I’m just confused on like what I’m supposed to research and stuff.

    • @layanelkhatib6090
      @layanelkhatib6090 Год назад +1

      So there’s always a main topic that your committee is focused one, and the subtopics are usually generated from the study guide. So ppl come u; with research based on topics that related to the study guide. Hope this helped:)

    • @salt5711
      @salt5711 8 месяцев назад +1

      It differs each MUN, but usually they incoorporate these things called the moderated and the unmoderated caucus. Essentially, everyone starts off with their GSL or their opening speeches. Then, when the chair asks, countries can raise their placard and offer a moderated/unmoderated cacus along with the topic. If it's a moderated caucus, you raise ur placard to speak, and once ur recognised and its ur turn, ur supposed to talk about that topic and its a more informal style of debate. The unmoderated caucus is more for discussions, so other parties or countries come to form allies, or to discuss any moderate caucus' they want to bring up, etc.
