Thank you for the review, this is very helpful. I have to say I have a leather marc jacobs wallet in the exact same shape, that I have used and abused for 3 years now, without changing into any other wallet. It shows absolutely no wear, so this is definitely sad to see the quality.

This is a great and honest update. It’s a shame that there’s glazing issues but it’s not like you babied it but you did get great use out of it. This is making me think twice about purchasing.
If it's a quality issue though, LV are normally good at sorting it out, let's see what they say , I wouldn't rule it out just yet, only cause it's such a usable piece
Hi Friend! I can’t believe how much you fit in there! 🙈 Having worked there, the glazing is BOTH from wear and tear, AND the glazing is not as good as it used to be! Having said that, it’s worth a shot…they may or may not charge you. It’s good to point out that realistically, luxury can still wear and tear!

Great review, I ordered this yesterday with the reverse print 550 euros but worked out cheaper than the £490 on the uk site. Have many LV pieces, some have been used to death and still look decent. Prices increases are crazy! My speedy 30 is now 3 times the price I paid and I’ve only used it 5 times at the most and they leather is still the same colour as new 🤣

Thanks for the honest review I brought my verso just before Christmas so a present to myself. I have only used it once so babying it a bit. I love the idea of the wristlet. I will be intrested to see what LV say on the peeling, as that slightly concerns me, but it wouldn't stop me using it. Never save anything for best as best might not come is my new mantra this year xx
The wristlet is a game changer and they have taken it back to fix without any difficulty 💕

I have the taigarama coin card and barely used it. I found the card slots to be quite fragile as in when you put cards in and out, it tears. Now am scared to use it in case it rips more. Have you found that with the recto verso? Thanks for the review.
I love your blue one, I don't find the card slots fragile in this one, and I wasn't the most delicate or careful when using it 💕

Perhaps I have a tip to downsize on the amount of cards..I use a mini size wallet from the brand Secrid, which stores a maximum of 8 cards
I’m in The Netherlands and here we can use certain apps on our phone in which you could “store” loyalty cards. When shopping at a certain store, you open the app and search the needed card.
And I don’t mean a separate app for every store (cause that’s another problem..an app for every other thing🤣)

@@ameliarosescloset please do an update video for how it turned out after and turn around time. I've never sent anything into LV do it will give me a good idea incase the same issue happens to me.
I think the glazing on canvas edge is a quality control issue. If I'm remembering right, the OnTheGo tote canvas straps (the ones inside) were replaced by leather for similar glazing problem with the original canvas. Also I believe the tote edges that were glazed canvas was rolling changed to a folded over sewn edge. I did see a video one with someone pointing out these changes. Anyway I hope when you talk to LV they will look after you, as they should.

Very useful review, this now retails for £435 but I’ll be using it in my smaller LV bags when I’m on holiday, so hoping it will hold up for many years. 😍

I wanted to add. I get the hands free feeling of attaching the lanyard but I see that eventually damaging the zipper pull especially once you add your items. I can see the heaviness of it putting stress on the zipper pull. Just my thoughts 🤷🏻♀️
It might do, for me it still makes it a lot more usable, I'll probably continue to use it but it may cause me some damage in time x
That was interesting. I wonder if LV would be prepared to repair the edging. I’m sure I heard somewhere that they would do that, but I’m not sure if I’ve just dreamt that.
I'm in LV next week and I'm going to bring it with me, I think it's probably a flaw, I do miss using this though! 💕

🇨🇵 Thank you for this video! I was interesting in this Recto Verso but now, I want to know what LV says about this glazing issue. My main gift for Christmas 2016 was a Zippy wallet. I have used my wallet every single day since then. No issue at all!!! As you already mentioned, the Recto Verso is quite expensive. So, I hope that LV will fix the problem. Repair or exchange? Wait and see!!!

You could add a jump ring(they sell these with jewelry making supplies and amazon has them) to the ring on the victorine zipper pull so you can add a wristlet strap if you wanted. Just thought I would mention as I thought of that when watching your video. Just bought the recto verso in the monogram. Loved the wear and tear video! TFS!!

Thank you for this, Amelia! I got the recto verso just like yours back in September. I really love it, want to switch back into it now. I have about five wallets I rotate through so they don't get a lot of hard wearing, plus I am minimalist in what I put in the wallet (most extra cards go into my mini o-case). But it is a shame to see all that peeling to the glazing like that. I hope you can get it fixed! It's a great wallet 💗

i had to send my clemence wallet for reglazing....i have had it for a year, but didnt use it every single day because i didnt want the glazing to get worse. i just got it back and its beautiful! ❤️

I had the same glazing issue on that same spot, mine was very barely used. They took it in for repair free of charge but ended up replacing with a new one. For some reason mine was switched out at some point and the repaired item was not my own piece. Good thing I had before photos to compare!

The glazing issue, is best to bring it back to them. I do not think that should be the way. Wear and tear we can understand but this is not. Don't be sorry for the extreme close up, we need to know that, if anyone here would like to get one. In fact i did thought of getting it at one point but then got another card holder instead. Im sorry but you aren’t supposed to stuff it to that extent. You are essentially destroying the stitching, the piping and cracking the canvas. People can’t talk about glazing issues in cases like this. Sad to see this wallet destroyed like that. I have had mine since it came out. I put license and 4 cards in the back. I put 4 more card in the button and I put cash and receipts but everything has a limit.
Oh I know! I absolutely know I have over stuffed it, I won't be doing that in future!

Download the app called Stocard to store all your loyalty cards digitally. It’s a game changer for mini wallets and bags! These days I only carry my license and 2 bank cards cause the rest is digital ☺️

I use my agenda pm for my daily wallet. I bought some card holders and zipper pouches on Amazon. I also got a 12 month calendar from Etsy so I can keep track of appointments while I’m out. It works perfect for me.

My 6 key holder had exactly the same issue with the glazing. LV is repairing at no charge, because it’s a quality control issue. My RV is in empriente because I read that the canvas version had glazing issues.
I have a glazing issue with my 6 ring key holder after less than 1 year from purchasing, and they wanted to charge me $180 to repair it. I was not happy. I didn’t expect it to crack so soon considering I have babied it and rarely take it out of my bag. My older items have held up beautifully but most of my newer items don’t seem to hold up as well. I am very interested to find out if they fix it for free for you. I have to buy my items online because the closest LV boutique is 230 miles away.
@@gailventzke2085 Mine was less than a year old, and I had to push for them to repair it. I purchased it online and they wanted to see the receipt, etc., which I was fine with. They wanted $250 to repair mine. I haven’t gotten it back yet, so I’m hoping they haven’t lost it.
@@ea1420 oh my gosh, that is insane. They wanted almost the cost of a new one??? Mine was also bought online through their website. They weird thing is, they had no problem repairing one of my 10 year old Epi key cles for free. They replaced the chain and the zipper pull, but would not repair a glazing issue on an item bought brand new and used for 3 months.
I am thinking of getting the YSL version of the recto verso, it is only $395, half the price of the empriante LV

Had 2 of the recto versa in monogram.. used it very lightly.. after not even 2 months, the glazing started to come up.. when back to my LV store and showed my SA and she exchanged it for me.. used it again, the same way, gently used it.. 4 months later , same thing , my SA checked again and luckily for me my SA exchanged it for the third time . However I believe this is a flaw for this piece and I won’t be using it again.. loved it but not for the price , don’t want to have to exchange anymore.

Mine is mint condition. I don’t use it as a daily wallet though - IMO it’s made more for a quick grab and go for a few cards and items for popping out for errands and light carry - that’s why I purchased - it wouldn’t work for me as a daily wallet. I almost purchased another in Empreinte but decided not to as it’s a bit limited for use.
You know, I was actually considering going back to a zippy wallet, the long one, for everyday use in my neverfull, work use, and swapping into cardholders for smaller bags 💕
I do that a lot. I also love my Victorine for a bit bigger and have become addicted to the Rosalie - it’s been my go to lately.
I use the smaller coin card holder and love it. I would love to have the recto verso because of the strap tho.

Brilliant review as always! This is why I’ve strayed from canvas SLG’s. Besides my 6 ring key holder i use my main card in the back of - if i need a wallet I’ll go for a leather wallet. They get used and abused too much. My brazza wallet is TRASHED. The card slots are stretched out and bubbled, the glazing is a disgrace. I definitely need to send it to get fixed! Canvas is canvas and so I can’t expect the world. Going forward I think i’ll pay the extra and get leather. I’d die for an empreinte SLG!

Wow that amount of wear & tear is after 1 year is disappointing. I have a similar card case from a contemporary brand (Fossil Logan Card Case) which I’ve used everyday for close to 4 years now that has worn better than your Recto Verso. Granted it is leather and not canvas, but I would have expected LV canvas to wear better than a contemporary leather brand. I was looking at the recto verso to alternate with my aging Fossil card case, but I think I will go the empreinte leather option rather than the canvas.

I was so disappointed with mine and sold it. I had no idea that it would stretch.
It stretched a lot but I am guilty of really overfilling it
they'll fix the glazing for free one time - i'd go that route. i've started repairing my own glazing on my key cles after they did their first repair bc it's not an expensive item and i use the heck out of it. i don't want to send them off for 6 months. I wouldn't do that on a bag, but it's an easy fix for a tiny slg. they'll also change out the button for free as well
