The “statement” she made about her breakup with Siddharth Mallya was something which weirded me out. Ofcourse there might have been other reasons too for the breakup. But saying that “he asked her to pay the bill for a dinner date” and making that a public reason for a breakup really offends me. Cause I would not mind paying for EVERY dinner date if my boyfriend is going through a low phase. Ofcourse, the situation was different here but she could have explained the “statement” in a better way. Cause THAT statement gave the chance to sidhharth to remind her of all the gifts he had given to her. Indirectly, he said that as a “man” he beared all the expenses and one time he asked the “woman” to pay a bill…she got pissed and broke up and gave a media statement. Actually, Priyanka went to high school in New Jersey so thats when her accent changed. Its not a fake accent. She probably just goes in and out of it depending on who she is talking to. It happens to a lot of people especially if you are trying hard to fit in both in India and abroad.

@@User38344 she is trying to remain relatable to both her indian audience and hollywood audience. So her accent has gotten to the point where its an American accent but with an indian twang to it. I'm not a linguistic expert but as an NRI who uses an Indian accent when speaking in English in India (so I don't get bullied) thats what her accent sounds like to me. Madhuri Dixit sounds weird now too. I feel Indians are more susceptible to having other accents rub off on us unconsciously. Maybe cause most of us are bi/multi lingual.

The problem for her lack of success in Hollywood is not her accent but her lack of talent. So many people with accents work in hollywood, Sofia Vergara forces her Spanish accent. Anupam Kher worked in various hollywood movies, he has an accent. Same goes for various Broadway actors and actresses as well especially part of Miranda Lin Emanuel's production team. The thing about being famous in Hollywood as an outsider requires far more talent than in Bollywood which is why she could not succeed I think is review is a little to biased towards Deepika.

Deepika doesn't lack talent. She needs better Hollywood projects. She's taken pretty mid projects in Hollywood. Deepika can act better than some famous Hollywood actors and she's proven her talent in movies like tamasha, padmavat, bajirao mastani etc. Also it's difficult for outsiders to get success in Hollywood especially if you're not from America or live there since you don't have those connections.

I'm not sure if this is a PR stunt. But Deepika is somewhat misunderstood here. Deepika is someone who was opportunistic in nature. She dated multiple guys but didn't seem much happy with them despite their status. She only loved Ranbir because maybe he fit the bill overall. He was good in looks, was born in the film industry, had status and maybe she enjoyed being with him. But Ranbir ditched her and she never came out of that. She still expected Ranbir to comeback. She had only made a tattoo for Ranbir on the neck. At least that's what I feel. When Deepika and Ranveer were dating I think she didn't expect the relationship to be serious considering Ramveers OTT nature. But Ranveer was head over heels. So I guess Deepika most likely wanted to date other guys just to see of she could get any better. I mean she was quite frank. Many guys and girls double or triple date without telling their partners. It's very common in cities. Guys and girls in today's times look out for the best. Deepika had come out of bad relationships. So it's understandable that she didn't want to commit too soon to anyone. The Indian accent is heavily influenced by the speakers mother tongue, and Indian languages do not have certain sounds in English (such as the w sound). Most Indians do not pronounce every word clearly, they speak very fast in the accent of their mother tongue. This is because English is often their second or third language. In fact, even a lot of supposedly well spoken bollywood actresses/actors have a fairly poor grip on the English language, with a limited vocabulary and mediocre pronunciation. If you want to hear a clean Indian origin accent, look up Satyajit Ray's interviews or Sarojini Naidus speeches. Even Zeenat Aman was extremely well spoken. Don't look up to Bollywood stars for English lessons, they will disappoint you.

I personally feel that deepika is more of a PR product than anything else. She looks good but not drop dead gorgeous just like madhuri mam or Aishwarya Rai looked. Infact I find katrina better than deepika when it comes to looks. Deepika's acting has always been mediocre and during some interviews also she showed her rude side recently which she's been trying to conceal for so long. Like in an interview Ananya Pandey also said that I didn't ask you for the pencil cz I thought you'd refuse, to which very rudely she replied "ask first and then say anything" also Ranveer singh keeps praising her and her movies but all she does is stand and compliment him for complimenting her...she didn't even share a poster of his recent film Jayesh bhai which shows how narcissistic and self consumed she is. The “statement” she made about her breakup with Siddharth Mallya was something which weirded me out. Ofcourse there might have been other reasons too for the breakup. But saying that “he asked her to pay the bill for a dinner date” and making that a public reason for a breakup really offends me. Cause I would not mind paying for EVERY dinner date if my boyfriend is going through a low phase.
Ofcourse, the situation was different here but she could have explained the “statement” in a better way. Cause THAT statement gave the chance to sidhharth to remind her of all the gifts he had given to her. Indirectly, he said that as a “man” he beared all the expenses and one time he asked the “woman” to pay a bill…she got pissed and broke up and gave a media statement. That just lowers down the standard of all the women and hence everyone looks down upon women when it comes to the financial category.

Like, why is it so necessary for the 'male' section to be categorised as the bread winner all the time? Why can't it be women... Actually, Priyanka went to high school in New Jersey so thats when her accent changed. Its not a fake accent. She probably just goes in and out of it depending on who she is talking to. It happens to a lot of people especially if you are trying hard to fit in both in India and abroad.

I personally don't think that Yami is 'underrated'. She is a good actor, but she does get many films & is now working with more popular names like: Bala with Ayushmann, Bhoot Police with Saif, Dasvi with Abhishek or OMG2 with Akshay.
The problem for her lack of success in Hollywood is not her accent but her lack of talent. So many people with accents work in hollywood, Sofia Vergara forces her Spanish accent. Anupam Kher worked in various hollywood movies, he has an accent. Same goes for various Broadway actors and actresses as well especially part of Miranda Lin Emanuel's production team. The thing about being famous in Hollywood as an outsider requires far more talent than in Bollywood which is why she could not succeed I think is review is a little to biased towards Deepika.

I'm not sure if this is a PR stunt. But Deepika is somewhat misunderstood here.
Deepika is someone who was opportunistic in nature. She dated multiple guys but didn't seem much happy with them despite their status. She only loved Ranbir because maybe he fit the bill overall. He was good in looks, was born in the film industry, had status and maybe she enjoyed being with him. But Ranbir ditched her and she never came out of that. She still expected Ranbir to comeback. She had only made a tattoo for Ranbir on the neck. At least that's what I feel.
When Deepika and Ranveer were dating I think she didn't expect the relationship to be serious considering Ramveers OTT nature. But Ranveer was head over heels.

The Indian accent is heavily influenced by the speakers mother tongue, and Indian languages do not have certain sounds in English (such as the w sound). Most Indians do not pronounce every word clearly, they speak very fast in the accent of their mother tongue. This is because English is often their second or third language. In fact, even a lot of supposedly well spoken bollywood actresses/actors have a fairly poor grip on the English language, with a limited vocabulary and mediocre pronunciation. If you want to hear a clean Indian origin accent, look up Satyajit Ray's interviews or Sarojini Naidus speeches. Even Zeenat Aman was extremely well spoken. Don't look up to Bollywood stars for English lessons, they will disappoint you.
