Hey bro, it's good that you cover a plethora of subjects in your weekly news. It's quite similar to a weekly review by Western comics like Trevor Noah or Jimmy Kimmel but with a wider selection of topics. I recently got off social media trying to reduce my screentime. (It has really helped, now I feel like I have more time for a lot of different things that are tangible and productive like reading and talking to people IRL.) But I always thought that not being on social media will make me feel awkward in conversations regarding memes and trends, however I have now realised that I really don't need to follow everyone and everything. I work at a great company with good work-life-balance culture, basically 40hrs a week and you can work from home. Recently i went on searching for another opportunity and so far I have gotten multiple offers and what I have noticed is, everyone wants you to work 50+ hrs and 6days a week. I obviously refused all these offers but it represents the work culture in the country. Govt. definitely should do something about it and mandate a work-life-balance culture to corporate sector, be it public or private.

Yes but credit cards are not interest based transactions. You get a free credit period of 50 days to pay back. Only when you dont pay back, the interest is charged. So it cannot be haram.

India is a low standard country in food , health , education and medicine . Eather u can leave the country or just chill that our standards is still high compared to Pakistan.
As a practicing doctor I realised our daily duties included in toxicity level of some professions... We've been working 24/7.... Morning 8 am we'll go for rounds after that finished paper works, wound dressings, discharge preparation, and go out for lunch if have time otherwise skipped, after 4 pm came back to room and take some rest and again have to go for evening rounds till 8 pm. Then only we can think of to have dinner or to sleep. Above all this in the middle of the night also nursing staffs would called and asked doubts, complaints, most of the time we need to attend those patients if getting serious at night. This is our usual day. If we have emergency duty we have to stay whole 24 hrs at hospital and if serious patient came we do emergency surgery stat. And on ot days after 10 hrs long ot also we can't take rest we have to report immediately if called. But we are happy when patients returned home safely. I don't know I should call this toxic or not...

Qur'an 2:275 refers to the prohibition of riba (interest): "Those who consume interest cannot stand [on the Day of Resurrection] except as one stands who is being beaten by Satan into insanity. That is because they say, 'Trade is [just] like interest.' But Allah has permitted trade and has forbidden interest..." This verse makes it clear why riba is prohibited in Islam, differentiating between lawful trade and unlawful interest.

@@SundaySarthak Problem- The way betting and gambling apps are advertised are absolutely wrong. People also believed them because their idols whom they respected are promoting these. But most of the advertisements just say, "Is aap par Ludo khelo aur croro jeeto". It's very misleading. Not only does it destroy the financial condition of the person but more importantly the mental health. It is slowly destroying the mental health of youths. Solution - I think there should be a board to check the advertisements done by betting/ gambling/ opinion based apps. And the government should also spread awareness for this issue. If the government did that then the celebrities too will not promote these because their image would be spoiled.

I'm in corporate since a long time and easy way to get a relaxed life is to ignore everything. There is always fake sense of urgency. Try to do whatever you can but it is not like if you dont do it on time, their company will be in loss.. Another thing I have seen is, when you do more work, you will get more work. This is a big problem because there are employees who does nothing and get paid and there are those who work on weekends and still get more to do😢

One advice from my experience I can give is, dont get attached to anyone.. my mentor used to say "Dont be nice, Be professional!" 'Excess of everything is bad' shouldn't be used as an excuse to not ban gambling ads. Context matters. With this same logic ads for fentanyl, cocaine and other such addictive substances shouldn't be banned. Laws should be made with an overall assessment of its effect on society and addiction potential in this case. Gambling in children should be banned, which is easily logically and scientifically understandable. Even in adults, laws should be with respect to advertising and various limits. So yeah I differ from your view a bit.
I dont think its possible, while in case of all these drugs, theres an actual use of these drugs in medical industry, so banning the ads doesnt completely destroyed the industry by draining the revenue, ideally you can prevent all the people from using these drugs, and the industry will still thrive cus of other uses of these drugs and not just by people, but its not the case for the gambling industry, its sorely entertainment based, and the main reason its still working is due to its promotions and ads, if those promotion elements are completely stopped, the industry can crumble down, and thats not good for government specially cus jts worth billions of dollars. So just banning them is not possible

Take Kunal Kamra vs Union of India for instance, the Hon'ble Bombay highcourt struck down the Rule 3 of the already existing IT intermediary and Media ethics and Guidelines rules 2023. The FTUs already existed, however many jurists are not satisfied with the reasoning given by the Hon'ble court and it may get challenged again. Hope you choose your sources wisely from next time.

Credit card and it's usage is a very genuine issue in our Islam, Sarthak. We Muslims are not permitted to pay or accept "RIBA" which is interest from the banks, in this case. The mufti Saab is referring to the same fact that accepting to pay interest as well.comes under the agreement, so it will be haraam.

It also encourages hoarding wealth rather than productive investment, which harms social welfare. Additionally, interest-based lending can trap the poor in debt. The Qur'an explicitly forbids riba, as seen in Surah Al-Baqarah (2:275-279), aligning with Islamic values of fairness, justice, and economic equity.
Interest is Haram (Un-lawful) in Islam, that's why that Mufti Sahab said Haram to Credit card which is not wrong at all. We can not justify it by giving the examples of other Muslims using it. Haram is Haram even if any Muslim is doing that. All Muslims are not good but Islam is.

Hey Sarthak For One Nation & One Election the idea for revenue consumption is good but when we look towards the administration it is the poorest It would be a major problem for officers involved in the election as it comes with a hectic workload and then there are shortage of necessary feeds like good medication and camps for these officers another thing is that these election will atleast take 2 months so after returning to the office the work load and stress will be the highest. I work at a great company with good work-life-balance culture, basically 40hrs a week and you can work from home. Recently i went on searching for another opportunity and so far I have gotten multiple offers and what I have noticed is, everyone wants you to work 50+ hrs and 6days a week. I obviously refused all these offers but it represents the work culture in the country. Govt. definitely should do something about it and mandate a work-life-balance culture to corporate sector, be it public or private.

Hi sarthak bhai, as a muslim i believe that it is important to clarify that what comes under the shariah compliance. Interest based transactions is considered haram whether it is taking or giving . But i personally believe that if a Muslim is involved in interest based transactions it is his/her personal opinion Islam as a religion prohibits it. Making fun of such sensitive and important issue doesn’t make sense. It is as sensitive as cow beef for hindu or sanatan person.

Yes but credit cards are not interest based transactions. You get a free credit period of 50 days to pay back. Only when you dont pay back, the interest is charged. So it cannot be haram.

As a practicing doctor I realised our daily duties included in toxicity level of some professions... We've been working 24/7.... Morning 8 am we'll go for rounds after that finished paper works, wound dressings, discharge preparation, and go out for lunch if have time otherwise skipped, after 4 pm came back to room and take some rest and again have to go for evening rounds till 8 pm. Then only we can think of to have dinner or to sleep. Above all this in the middle of the night also nursing staffs would called and asked doubts, complaints, most of the time we need to attend those patients if getting serious at night. This is our usual day. If we have emergency duty we have to stay whole 24 hrs at hospital and if serious patient came we do emergency surgery stat. And on ot days after 10 hrs long ot also we can't take rest we have to report immediately if called. But we are happy when patients returned home safely. I don't know I should call this toxic or not...

This verse makes it clear why riba is prohibited in Islam, differentiating between lawful trade and unlawful interest.

@@SundaySarthak Problem- The way betting and gambling apps are advertised are absolutely wrong. People also believed them because their idols whom they respected are promoting these. But most of the advertisements just say, "Is aap par Ludo khelo aur croro jeeto". It's very misleading. Not only does it destroy the financial condition of the person but more importantly the mental health. It is slowly destroying the mental health of youths.
Solution - I think there should be a board to check the advertisements done by betting/ gambling/ opinion based apps. And the government should also spread awareness for this issue. If the government did that then the celebrities too will not promote these because their image would be spoiled.

As an advocate here, Sarthak I am not pleased to say this but your legal segment is often inaccurate and does not provide the right information. Take Kunal Kamra vs Union of India for instance, the Hon'ble Bombay highcourt struck down the Rule 3 of the already existing IT intermediary and Media ethics and Guidelines rules 2023. The FTUs already existed, however many jurists are not satisfied with the reasoning given by the Hon'ble court and it may get challenged again.

Now my stand on interest or any other thing in the world if from pov of religion because only religion allows you to be objective otherwise everything is based on personal whims and desires
Islam on interest
Interest (riba) is haram(prohibited) in Islam for several reasons. It is exploitative, benefiting the lender while burdening the borrower, leading to inequality. Islam promotes risk-sharing and earning through legitimate work, while interest ensures profit without effort or risk. It also encourages hoarding wealth rather than productive investment, which harms social welfare. Additionally, interest-based lending can trap the poor in debt. The Qur'an explicitly forbids riba, as seen in Surah Al-Baqarah (2:275-279), aligning with Islamic values of fairness, justice, and economic equity.
Interest is Haram (Un-lawful) in Islam, that's why that Mufti Sahab said Haram to Credit card which is not wrong at all. We can not justify it by giving the examples of other Muslims using it. Haram is Haram even if any Muslim is doing that. All Muslims are not good but Islam is.
I am a Corporate worker , and I had severe health issues due to over work that lead to migraine and seizer , still my HR and Manager were not ready to understand. From my situation only thing i understood and suggest young people " Jitna paisa mile utna hi kam karo". When you get salary of labour don't stress like CEO.

Zero interest was implemented in sharia with good intentions(to stop financial exploitation). But until & unless we built any mechanism through which we can know about intentions of lenders and borrowers. Its not practical to apply.
One more point, equating dhongi babas(be it from hindu community or muslim community) with muftis is like comparing dhongis with shakaracharyas.
He was only responding to the question whether credit card is haram or not and it is haram according to sharia law.

It would be a major problem for officers involved in the election as it comes with a hectic workload and then there are shortage of necessary feeds like good medication and camps for these officers another thing is that these election will atleast take 2 months so after returning to the office the work load and stress will be the highest.
We always think about political causes but it severely affect administration also.
