- In this ASMR video, I forge a traditional candle holder from start to finish. You'll see every step of the process, from heating the metal to shaping it with a hammer and anvil. I also share an interesting technique for attaching the candle holder to a plate.
Please let me know what kind of videos you would like to see more of in the comments below.
About me:
Hi! My name is Philip and one of the people behind Lufolk. I have always been interested in the simple things in life. When I look back on history I get inspired and fascinated by the people who came up with all the smart solutions to make our everyday life easier. What you can accomplish with a few tools and great skills is impressive. The first time I got that feeling: I made this! This will be useful! Was when I made a wooden spoon as a kid. And think that was the start, I have ever since been interested in making things.

Very clever!
Thanks! It's a fun and handy way to attach it.
I don't comment very often , And I watch a lot of your videos and I have taking an interest in what and how you do things . And that tow ball is a grate ida. Cheers mate from Australia . 🧐👍👌🤠.
Thank you for your support! Cheers mate!
That candle-holder is just pure joy to look at! How come you blew away the casing of the electrode? Wouldn't that work the same way as the powder?
Great to hear! Yes, that is also flux and works the same as the powder. I don't remember actually, but as you say it works the same so it was unnecessary 🙂
Sometimes bending the electrode just breaks the flux away in my experience. Good question however.

Thanks!
What material did you use for the brazing of the candle cup? Forgive me, I am very inexperienced with brazing or soldering.
I used a brass soldering rod. Give it a shot! :)
👍👍👍
🔥🔥🔥
What was used to fuse the candle cup to the disc?
I used brass so it got soldered/brazed. In some projects it's a really good solution and it's nice to do it in the forge instead of using a torch 😎
One thing I've been noticing watching several blacksmithing videos is that the initial tapering doesn't need to be pretty. In fact it can look absolutely horrible and will be fixed during planishing.
True!
