Your words bring me comfort, and your work is always beautiful.

It felt so right when i commissionned a heirloom from you. Best gift i've made to myself. Money wasnt a wall even if at the time i was counting coins. Symbols strikes souls more than ever. Thank you and your craft for giving purpose by making symbols alive ❤
Wow, thank you!
I have no memory of my family or it's history , But I'm making Shore my children who are now Adults have Moore then they need ,. Cheers . 💔👍🤠
Thank you for this video. I am a retired sailor and have been connected to the water all my life. I made my Mjolnir from an old wrought iron ship spike. I wear it constantly and it gives me comfort every time I touch it. It is a blending of my past and present.
Wonderful! Thank you!
That is awesome man. My Mjölnir serves a similar purpose, reminding me where I am going in my life. I ware a different pendant to remind me how far I have come. unfortunately I didn’t make ether, but I have been making other things from copper wire and such. I’m very excited to make a forge so I can do more.
Awesome! Thank you!
Beautiful work brother. ⚒️
Thank you! Cheers!
The beauty of imperfections👍
Indeed!
That is incredible looking!
thanks!
flint and steel is underappreciated nowadays imho! especially with no-char methods.
Tuned in to watch a ring be made - learned valuable life lessons along the way - I'm so glad I found your channel! Thank you!!
Awesome! Thank you!
So true Philip life isn't perfect , Imperfections are a part of life's journey . 🤔🤠
it is :)
I'm adding "perfectly imperfect " to my life lessons. Thank you!! 😊
Perfect! :)
Thank you , 😙🤠
Hey Philip! I fully relate to your struggles in the craft of blacksmithing. It has taught me to never set expectations as they have a possibility of failure. Rather than feeling like a failure, I’ve learned to set goals. Goals are always achievable tomorrow if you didn’t reach them today. The key that I’ve found to happiness is celebrating every victory no matter how big or how small. You can make every single thing you do for yourself or for others as an achievement. Filling your mind with positive affirmations throughout your day attracts more positive outcomes in your life. It is the law of attraction. I’ve found a lot of happiness in my time management and it feels good to have your life in order in a notebook with a full 12 month calendar in it and make to-do lists that you can check off and be able to look back at all that you’ve accomplished and celebrate every victory along the way. It sounds so crazy but this is how someone in the age of instant gratification from a cell phone can truly achieve happiness and start to be away from their cell phones. I wish you great prosperity in your growth as a craftsman and as a crafted man.
Thank you very much for your comment! Those are some valuable insights that I hope many will take part of, myself included :)
Can Buddhist reach Valhalla
Nice. Isnt it going to get rusty though?
thanks! For normal use it is fine.
Hi Philip Your story inspired me today , IM a retired boiler maker welder in AUSTRALIA and 3 off my sons and my grand son are B.M.W. as well . When teaching them the trade I had one main rule LOOK LISINE and LEARN , And I still believe that today , Every time I watch one of your videos I feel like a Apprentice once Moore and still learning . So thank you Philip for relighting the fire in my OLD bones , And your presentation is first class . 😁🤩👍⚒👀🤠
thank you for sharing! I agree, that is rule to follow! I am glad you got inspired, thank you!
Your videos really help me, i was feeling rather lost when i when i saw this. And while I still don’t know the way, I know that it is a process and that i can make it if I am patient with myself and learn to savor each moment of growth, because life is too short to wish time away, that is something I’ve learned through growing and taking care of my long hair, to me it symbolizes my own journey of self growth, as my my hair grows i grow into the man my future wife and family will need me to be and has servedas a reminder of how far I’ve come and to not give up, Never cut your hair man, it’s awesome!!!
thank you for sharing! Makes me happy to hear that it helped. That is a nice metaphor too! It sounds like you have a direction at least. I hear you, it is easy to get lost. But having a direction and goal is key, sounds obvious but it isn't always. One thing that helped me to "stay on track" is to first, have my destination written down, and second, have visual reminders around me. Thank yoy!
You and your videos actually inspired me to give blacksmithing a shot and 2 months in that "every setback is a step forward" that hit hard. This entire video gave me motivation again to be honest
Makes me very happy! Thank you for sharing. Keep it up!
We often learn more from our failures than our success.
That is true
Oh! Have had two of the forged ones you did for three and half years now, might have to get ones in silver as an upgrade😂 love the iron obes and where them every day❤ love your work man! 😁
awesome! Thanks!
Love your work, you're a talented blacksmith, artist and a huge inspiration to many around the globe.
Thank you so much 😀
Great video Philip! never let the flame of creativity fade away. Always feed her with inspiration and good thoughts
Well said!
Your openness is an asset to both you and your channel. I rarely offer advice, but in my later years I feel somewhat qualified. I recently retired from a career mostly spent behind a desk, or directing others at construction sites. Retirement brought me the “luxury” of following my heart, providing me with an opportunity to express my creativity. I’ve admired blacksmiths from an early age, and decided to pursue the craft. I find it satisfying. My advice to you is; follow your heart from as early an age as possible. You will never be disappointed with how you spent your life.
Thank you very much for sharing your thought and for the inspiration!
I thank you sir because you have taught me quite a bit angels watching your RUclips channels I wish I could get some Hands-On training from you but I'm in America keep up the good work and I know we all appreciate it
I am glad to hear that! Thank you!
Beautiful!!
Thank you! Cheers!
Thank you! When I closed my eyes it was as if I was at that same fire listening to your friend along with you. Very good narration on your part! I think it might be very boring to know everything. I am grateful to live in a universe so full of things I know nothing about. This is where wonder and awe come from!
Glad you enjoyed it! I agree with you!
Very well spoken, powerful insight. I've been looking at it from the opposite direction. I'm well into old age and I look at what I do for fun, blacksmithing and wood working and wonder what my grandchildren will make of what I do when they're older. I've thought of making a small journal also.
Thanks for sharing! Beautiful. Do you have many children and grandchildren?
@@lufolkcrafts Only two, 1 girl and 1 boy but hoping for many more.
Your insight into the true meaning of runes, the "magic" of knowing our past and ancestors, makes me think what stories I'm telling, about my view of the world and myself. Are they enriching future generations?
That is a good question to ask. Thanks for sharing!
Beautiful
Thank you! Cheers!
Never done brazing before. Is it kinda like soldering?
yes. I could be wrong, but I see it as the same. brazing is maybe soldering with brass. But is the same process as soldering with silver solder or any hard solder
I think I needed that today. Thanks brother
Glad to hear it helped!
Good advice. You are wise beyond your years.
Nice work as always 😍😍
Thank you! Cheers!
Very simple and well done video. I was really over thinking this process in my head. Thank you for sharing.
Glad it was helpful!
My neighbors are going to be pissed
Very nice.
Thank you! Cheers!
Philosophy and blacksmithing-two ancient crafts that shape both metal and mind. Each strike of the hammer is a lesson in patience, every forge a reflection of inner fire. Together, they teach the balance between strength and precision, thought and action.
well said
